The young man known as Vasco had to pat Katie repeatedly on the shoulder to break her concentration. If Katie stuck with her own negative emotions, then Katie will no longer feel happy and become hateful towards everything in this world.
Because Katie didn't feel tired or hungry, she was able to meditate for hours. Until the tenth day, Katie managed to recognize the form of her emotions.
The positive emotions take the form of smooth, curved lines that resemble a wilderness road. Meanwhile, negative emotions are in the form of a circle filled with thorns around it.
The next step was how to get Katie to hide the thorny circle without having to feel it. The first attempt failed, and again she was overcome with negative emotions of her own and almost got caught in it if Vasco didn't bring her back to her senses. It continued for two weeks before she succeeded at last.
