It was near the end of the day. We were showing Oswald around while getting to know him better. What I learned from him is that his name means god or power. That is honestly cool to think about. I don't think my name has any meaning behind it. Lexi is a boring name if you think about it. It's a regularly used name. I have never thought that a name could have a meaning behind it. I've always thought that the parents just chose a name that they enjoy the most and roll with it. Well, I think my parents did that.
Onward showed us his door number so we could show him where it is. It was the number 86 which was close to mine. I don't really pay any attention to my dorm number since I have the place memorized. I know exactly where it is, so I really don't have to know my dorm number. All I know is that it is in the 80's hall. "Lexi can take you to your dorm. Hers is around there, and mine is all the way to the 40's hall," Alijah said. It was late at night, which meant that Alijah had to go to her dorm already.
Alijah hugged us and said goodbye. She started heading to her dorm, leaving Onward and me alone. We started heading to our dorms. It was mostly quiet on our way there. We didn't talk much at all. He just asked me what my favorite color was, and then it was silent after I told him. I didn't know what to say. I barely meet him, so I don't know what he likes to talk about. On top of that, Alijah is normally the one who starts the conversation. Onward and I usually are the ones who respond, which helps the conversation go on.
We finally arrived, which turns out his dorm is next to mine. "Your dorm is next to mine," I spoke up. He then smiled at me, which I did the same. I took a look at my dorm number, seeing it was the number 85. Wow, I finally took a look at the number. "I'll see you tomorrow," Onward said, opening the door to his room. "Alright, I'll see you tomorrow too," I replied. He then once again smiled at me while he entered the room. I did the same and closed the door to my room.
I laid down on my bed, falling asleep instantly. Tomorrow is going to be a long day. We have another sin to complete. The sin we are completing tomorrow is called lust. Well, the teacher said that we aren't doing that since we are young. It leaves us to the next one, Envy. It basically means that you are jealous of something or someone. If you want something someone has, it is considered a sin. Many people think that it is dumb. They say that it is impossible to control how you feel. They say it is unfair.
I want to get out of this place already. I hate feeling fear if I mess up on something. It could be an accident or not. They don't care at all. They will punish you no matter what you did. The security has been tighter than ever. I only have two options. The 1st one is that I will have to escape here and find a way to release my parents. The 2nd option is that I obey and my parents will be out safely. I don't know how long the 1st option will be, but the second one will take more than a year.
After careful consideration, I decided to with option 1. It will be dangerous, but it will be worth it. The first thing I will do is talk to Caleb. I am not going to tell him about my plan. The only thing I will do is try to get information about my parents and this place. I need to be careful about it. If I want to do that, I will have to think before I speak. I don't want to seem suspicious at all. It could ruin everything if I do. I don't want to end up working in the mines.
The second step is when I have enough clues on how to set my parents free. Once I have enough information about that, it will be all set. I will make a plan on how to escape out of here. Hopefully, no ones attempts to do so because I don't want security to be even tighter. Once I'm settled with that, I will tell Alijah about it. I'm still debating whether to tell Oswald or not. I barely meet him, and I don't know if he is trustworthy or not. I will have enough time to see if he is while I am gathering up clues.
The third step is when all the action begins. We will start getting out of here. I don't know what the plan is yet, but we will do what I put in there. This is the part where we need to be extra cautious. It is the most dangerous part of option one. If we end up getting caught, I will go with option 2. I really don't want to do that, so I have to try my best with all that stuff. Once I get out of this place, I'm going to live a normal life.
I don't want to have fear anymore. I don't want to see people die in front of me in a blink of an eye. I feel bad for those people. It is the first time I saw such a thing. All I see is a dead body lying on the floor. It will, later on, be thrown with the rest of the fallen people. The room is full of bones, blood, and organs scattered everywhere. Well, that is how I imagine it in my head. They probably feed the remains to wild animals.
I think that is all I have in mind. If something comes up, I will make sure to be prepared. Anything could happen in an instant. I have to trust the right people and seem like a normal person around here. I don't want to seem like a threat to the guards. That will make it harder for me. The more suspicious I am to them, the more difficult it is going to be. I also need to check every corner to see that no one is there. Rumors travel fast in this place. If it goes to the wrong person, it could all go wrong.

*Ring Ring Ring*
The alarm went off, meaning that it was morning already. I went ahead and got up to take a shower. I did the normal stuff I do in the morning, and I headed off to the cafeteria. Once I got there, I saw Alijah waiting in line. I started heading towards her. "Hi," I said. She then looked at me, saying hi back. "Have you seen Oswald," I asked her. She then starts looking around, which I guess she hasn't. "No, I haven't seen him anywhere," she replied. He should be here soon since it is mandatory to eat.
After a while, Oswald came into the cafeteria. Today is the first task he has to complete. I think he has to do pride since that's the first thing I did. That was also the most boring one I have done. I hope today goes well for him. If he ends up seeing a dead body today, it will probably haunt him. It is pretty common for people to get traumatized here. Even I got traumatized. It was a horrible experience. The way the blood creeps out of the person's body is enough for me to see.
Oswald looked at us and started walking with us. Once he was in front of us, he gave me a little smile which I smiled back. "Hi guys," he said. We said hi back to him. We were in line talking about stuff while waiting for our turn. The line wasn't that long since we came here early, and Alijah saved us a spot. It only took 5 minutes until we got our food. Today they were giving leftovers. I got some dry pancakes, Oswald for cereal, and Alijah got the same thing as him. We sat down at an empty table.
Once we sat down, we started talking once again. I learned that Oswald was actually a soccer player before all this stuff. I wonder how good he is. It didn't surprise me that he is athletic. Although he is skinny, he still has some muscle. He has the most muscle on his leg, which you can tell he does play soccer. Onward has a pretty interesting life. He broke his leg when he was 5 because he was playing on the swings. He is around my age now, which is 16 years old. Alijah is a little bit older by a year.
