The Devil and The Straw Hats

I fell asleep last night after hours of planning. I walk downstairs to find Helen, Carl and Stella sitting at the table with breakfast.

The first one to notice me is Helen " morning samael, did you have a good night of sleep?". I just nod and take my seat at their table.

We all eat our breakfast together and have conversations about places we have all seen. After saying goodbye to Stella, who was sulking because I haven't spent any time with her yet. Then to Carl who thanked me again for saving his family.

I turn to Helen who is worried " have you figured out how you're attacking Crocodile yet?". Seeing how worried she is about me is a little funny " I have two plans. 1- attack Crocodile when he's with all of his organisation to make it easier for me to kill them all. 2- hunt and kill them all one by one leaving Crocodile last".

After telling her my plans she was visibly more relaxed " well what are you planning on doing today?". She's starting to annoy me with all her questions so I simply say " recon" then head out the front door of the house.

What I actually plan on doing today is visiting Rainbase. I want to see if I can find Crocodile there with his minions.

Normally it would take a couple of days to reach Rainbase on foot. Luckily for me, I have my wings so I summon them and fly there. It took me 1 hour to reach Rainbase.

When I eventually reached Rainbase I could immediately tell the difference between here and Nanohana. The people here are more lively and happy. The atmosphere here isn't tense, unlike Nanohana.

It didn't take me long to find Crocodile's casino because there was a giant golden crocodile on the top.

I walked into the casino where there were rows of slot machines. There was also a lot of blackjack tables. A lot of the people looked like they were totally unaware of the possible war that might erupt.

I decided to test my luck and gamble with some money I had leftover from Skypiea. After wasting half of my money I didn't win anything.

while I was gambling, I used observation haki to see who was here in the casino.

At first, I didn't find anything interesting until I noticed something peculiar. There were multiple people underneath the casino. All of them were grouped together.

Looking around I found a door that might lead to the group. All the doors in the casino had two guards but one door had heavily armed guards. Taking this a sign I'm going to take my chances with that door.

To lure the guards away from the door I used annihilation to break some of the slot machines to cause a distraction.

Soon as I used annihilation it caused the machines to release the jackpots. With this lots of people crowded the machines and the guards had to move so they could keep the people in order.

Using the crowd as I cover, I sneaked my way to the now unguarded door. I opened the door and walked down the stairs leading to a basement.

What I saw surprised me because it wasn't the Baroque Works but only a group of people in a cage. From my brief look, it seems that they're being held hostage with a massive crocodile keeping guard.

With no signs of Crocodile being here I step out if the shadows. I walk towards the cage " well what do we have here".

The group of people who were arguing stopped after they heard an unknown voice. They all turn to me, a guy with white hair, two cigars in his mouth and a marine jacket. He then speaks " great another one of Crocodile goons".

Before I can respond to him the giant crocodile tried to attack me. So when the crocodile tried to bite me, I jumped into the air and coated my fists in armament haki. On my descent down I aimed for the crocodile's chest which worked because before the crocodile could even turn I was close enough to punch him.

When my punch hit him, his eyes bulged out and he spits out blood along with his saliva. When I finally landed the crocodile was completely knocked out.

I turn back to group " I'm not with that idiot. I actually came here to defeat him and his little group of bounty hunters".

My declaration seems to surprise the group. the same guy from a ruler with cigars speaks again " if not, why are after Crocodile". The rest of the group seems to be listening so I just laugh " hahaha why would I tell you we only just met".

then I see a guy who has got tanned skin with black woolly hair and a long nose.

Then, a slim woman with orange hair and a black tattoo on her left shoulder.

Then, a lightly tanned man with green hair and three swords.

Finally a guy with black hair, scar underneath his eye and a straw hat.

At first, I don't recognise anyone but then the straw hat reminds me of the wanted poster Ace showed me yesterday. I remember then, that guy is Aces brother Straw Hat Luffy who has a bounty of 30 million berries.

I walk towards the cage " so why are Ace's brother and a marine in the same cage then?". My question surprises the group especially Luffy whose eyes suddenly widen " how do you know Ace?".

I walk towards the cage " we can talk about that later but now we need to get out of here". The marine speaks up gain " we can't escape without the key for the door an-".

Before he can finish I put my right palm on the door lock " we don't need any keys". Before they can refute me I coat my palm with annihilation and destroy the lock on the door.

All of them are shocked that I easily destroyed the lock " come on, we don't have all day idiots".

I gesture towards the stairs " let's go before Crocodile comes back". We all head up the stairs and run into a girl with blue hair, a tall guy with blond hair and a black suit. Then finally a chubby little reindeer who's looks like a little human.

I just tell them no time for a catch up and run. We eventually make it out to the street.

I turn around to the group " now, Luffy I know you because Ace showed me your picture yesterday. So mind telling me how you ended up in that cage".

Luffy seems really happy at my answer while his friends are cautious. I turn around and notice that marines are starting to swarm the streets. I find an alleyway which we can escape " the marines are closing in so if you don't want to be arrested I suggest we go this way".

As we all start to move the marine with us holds out his weapon which is made from seastone. He points at us " I'm grateful for you rescuing me but I have to complete my duty".

Luffy and his group start to panic meanwhile I start laughing " hahaha that's fine but do you honestly think you can beat me". I start releasing my conquers haki at the marines that have arrived. The ground starts to crack from the pressure and I walk towards the marine.

Luffy Pov----------

Shishishishi, this guy is seriously cool, all the marines around us have started to faint.

I wonder if he'll join my crew.

Zoro Pov-----------

This guy is seriously dangerous. Without even moving he has taken out an entire squadron of marines.

Smoker Pov---------

Damn it, this guy can use the color of supreme King. I thought Crocodile and Fire Fist Ace would be my biggest problem.

This guy is something else though. Just looking at him is making me sweat. I walk forward " ok fine you get to pass but only because you saved me rather than leave me".

The pressure around me suddenly lifts then the guy walks forward " I knew I liked you for a reason, mind telling me your name?".

Samael Pov----------

I can see he is confused by my sudden question " it's Smoker". I start to walk away " well I probably meet you again in the near future Smoker. so until then".

I walk over to Luffy and his friends who are still shocked " come idiots it won't be long until those marines wake back up".

I missed crocodile this time so I will have to hunt him down. Hopefully these people will be able to find him.

A tanned woman and a man with a scar across his face are on a sandhill overlooking Rainbase " it seems like the straw hats we're able to break out. but who was that with them that used color of supreme King".

The woman is also interested " I don't know but he wasn't afraid of the Marines which means he doesn't view them as a threat".

Both of them are worried that this new person could hinder their plans.
