The Dark Alpha

Locked away for centuries was the price I had to pay for saving my brother's life. He was always the light. I, the dark. The world was a better place with him in it. His personality has proven that much to me. Years upon years I had to be the spectator to his horrible life. Anger was one of the emotions that kept me going.  Now, I was summoned to the Dark Realm, a spiritual plane with the same siphoner-vampire that made my brother's life a living hell. Vengeance. The Supreme God had smiled at me. That was what I thought. The Guardian Angel who summoned us to this nightmare wanted us to work together to find the Goddess of the Realm. The prize at the end was too enticing to pass up. A chance to live in the land of the living. A chance to be with my brother. To protect him.  There was only one problem. I couldn't kill the vampire. A fair rule. Too bad it said nothing about torturing her. I was the Alpha of the darkness. Nothing like my brother. Sebastian - Reino Oscuro

This situation sucked. I couldn't assess this creature. That was Kyleon's specialty, nonetheless. He was the twin, who read his opponent and solved great mysteries. I didn't have the patience for all that nonsense. I hated the circled games and chess movements. It wasn't my style to figure out what made people tick. I just loved the killing part. The part where my heart raced and adrenaline filled my bloodstream. That was the best part of any situation.

I flopped down on the couch and tossed up my feet on the coffee table, crossing them at the ankles.

This place looked real. It could be possible they were a fragment of our imagination. There was no way the little thing could have teleported everything here so quickly and orderly. I didn't feel any shift under my feet. Therefore, she didn't teleport us anywhere either.

I relaxed on the sofa.

I knew a thing or two about this kind of stuff. The room I was locked in for centuries had this same feel. It was why the barriers couldn't hold me earlier. My body was already used to this atmosphere. Which made me wonder, where exactly were we? We couldn't be in the world of the living or else I would have died already. We had to be somewhere spiritual. Especially since Ms. Redhead was here. Her body was consumed by someone else. Her crazy ass mother to be exact.

A twisted fucking family if anyone asked me.

I blew out my cheeks. "What's taking you so long, Princess?"

Women and their clothes. I couldn't understand what was so hard in just throwing on a simple pants and shirt. They had to go and make things complicated.

The Evil Queen stepped out of the clutches of the changing room. Emerald eyes, the prettiest I had ever seen, narrowed with annoyance. Rosy lips thinned to almost a fine line. The close-fitted pants and blouse were like a second skin, displaying all her curves. Even in this plane, her red curls held their even waves.

I could see why Kyleon fell for her. She was the essence of beauty. Even when she blushed a few minutes ago, her beauty hadn't faded. It was laughable she even had such a reaction to me looking at her. This wasn't the first time I had seen her naked. It was just the first time she had noticed I was in the room.

Too bad she had to die. Maybe as a show of appreciation, I could send Kyleon her heart. Oh, that would tick him off. He loved this witch too much. Even after centuries of cat and dog cases, his love never faded. Countless times, I begged him to kill her, but he refused. She had him wrapped around her little finger. Even after he got mated to another. One look from this witch and he would fall to his knees.

Pitiful! I didn't expect better. It was Kyleon, after all. His heart was too big. This was the reason why he needed me. He cared too much about people, even his enemies. I had to be there to protect him from all of them. Mercy was never in my dictionary and anyone that hurt him was going to pay, starting with this princess.

"I'm not a princess," she grumbled, perching on the other end of the couch.

It was adorable she thought that. She was raised by one of the most powerful vampire-witch couples in the world. Her father, Jones, wasn't the kind of man to piss off. He was so skilled that even witches bowed to him. A vampire, the Lord of witches. Most people would laugh at the very sound of that. But it was true.

Scarlet's stepmother, Miranna was no pushover either. The witch loved order and no one defiled her. In other words, she was classified as the most powerful witch in the witch community. Her name was found in textbooks and schools, right next to my mother's Caroline. So, yes, Scarlet was indeed a Princess. She originated from the creme de la creme. The top.

Born and raised in a pretty mansion. Treated and protected like a princess. It never stopped even after she succumbed to the dark side. For centuries, she was fussed over. I could bet even after they all thought she was dead, they still would be worried about her soul.

"If you say so," I taunted.

The little thing with the halo snapped her fingers, taking the changing room with it and adding another single-seater sofa adjacent to us. She, too, relaxed in that chair.

"Just ignore him," she advised the Redhead. "He likes tormenting people. It gets him off."

I chuckled at the statement.

Who was this chick, anyway? So small, yet so bossy. The time I checked, angels were humble creatures. She should have been showering us with apologies and things to make us comfortable. Instead, she was telling me off. This was too interesting.

"So?" the Redhead urged the angel. "Why are we here? If we are not dead, why did you summon us? In case you haven't noticed, there is a war going on. My skills would be of great aid to the others fighting it."

Yeah, the inevitable war.

The Redhead's mother, Deanna, consumed her body and was now planning to annihilate the High Council and everyone in her way. If she hadn't already started the war. Knowing my brother, he was going to be in the middle of it. He had to be. He was the rightful Alpha to the throne of the Werewolf Community. I wasn't talking one pack, but hundreds. Plus, Aunt Lucile and Amy, our cousin, were there. He wasn't going to let them die. That was the type of person he was.

I had to go back to ensure his safety. While he was busy saving everyone else, it was up to me to save him. No one else could.

The little thing scoffed. "You should be thanking me, Ms. Jones. If I can recall, you two were going to die if it wasn't for me."

All thanks to the princess. Who the hell committed suicide in the middle of a potential war? She should have fought, ensuring she took that disgusting excuse of a mother with her to the grave. No, she left the woman behind to cause havoc on the world.

So damn stupid!

"Look, Little Missy, I appreciate your help," I stated. "If you didn't save me I would be in hell giving my speech to Lucier by now. You kind of put a damper on my plans. But, since I'm not dead, my brother is going to need me. So can you speed this up a little?"

Being a grim reaper sounded fun. Besides, it would allow me to go places I couldn't before. Such an ability would allow me to watch over Kyleon. It would have been a win-win situation.

The little angel wiggled in the chair. "Okay, since you asked so nicely. The thing is, I need both of your help. We are in Reino Oscuro. This spiritual world is governed and monitored by Goddess Oscuro. There was some weird spiritual pressure coming from Destiny Peak, that's on the other end of this Realm. Goddess Oscuro went to check it out and hasn't returned. Even her presence has gone. It's as if she never existed."

Reino Oscuro. I never even heard of this place before. Well, Kyleon hasn't heard of anything. What he knew, I knew. We were twins, who merged at birth. He stayed in the world of the living while I went to an alternate realm. A box. As long as Kyleon was alright, it didn't matter. We chatted all the time and hung out together upon summoning.

"What do you need our help with?" I asked.

"Glad you asked," the little missy smiled. "I need you two to accompany me to Destiny Peak to find and maybe rescue Goddess Oscuro. Unlike Goddess Oscuro, I don't have the ability to teleport about in this Realm. In case you haven't heard about this place, it's dangerous here. I can't just fly there without getting killed." Blue eyes held me in place. "You, Sabastian, are skilled and ruthless. Our journey won't be easy. It will require us to kill vicious beings to survive. I know how much you enjoy killing. That's why I brought you here."

I could live with that. It warmed my heart that this little thing knew me so well. Maybe it should have me on the defense. Not a lot of people knew me. They saw the face of my brother Kyleon. Those who met me never lived to tell the tale.

She turned to the redhead. "And you, Scarlet is the light in the darkness."

I snickered at that.

Light in what darkness? Scarlet was the meaning of evil. There was nothing light about her. For centuries, she played the villainess. Couldn't say evil wasn't a good look on her. It was better than being weak. Something she portrayed in the latter end.

"So," the woman drawled, "What will it be?"
