Chapter 20 Armed Fishing and Father-Daughter Moment 2/2

In the middle of the lake, you could see a boat with three figures on it, one large and two small.

"So Missy, you hold the rod firmly. When the fish bites, you'll feel a slight tug, and then you pull. While you're pulling, reel in and wait for the fish to tire. When you feel the fish is tired, you pull the reel lever and reel in the line, understood?" George asks as he finishes explaining how fishing works.

"And Connor, you're not going to fish?" Missy asks, confused. "No, I'm not going to fish like you. I brought this," I tap the bag with some weapons and open it in front of Missy. I take the Winchester 1894 and load it with some .30-30 Winchester cartridges. "Hey kid, you seem to know how to handle this prehistoric thing," George asks while helping Missy put bait on the fishing rod. "Of course, I do. Grandma Connie taught me the basics," I quickly come up with an excuse. In my other life, I always dreamed of having one of these, so I was very familiar with it.

Then I grab a twelve-gauge and repeat the loading process. When I was loading the Beretta M9 I took from the bandits, I hear a voice, "Look, Dad, a crocodile!" Missy shouts, pointing to an American alligator swimming with its head above water.

"Wow, I've never seen one this close," George exclaims with concern in his voice. I look in his direction and see an alligator swimming very close to us, about 40 meters away before disappearing under the lake's surface.

"I personally find it very beautiful," I say with admiration in my voice.

A few hours pass, and George and Missy catch some fish.

"I got one!" Missy exclaims, holding the fish by its gills. "You're getting the hang of it, daughter. Soon you'll be surpassing me," George says, looking at his daughter who had caught more fish than him.

"Uh-huh," Missy huffs arrogantly as she casts her line again.

"Hehe," George chuckles dryly when Missy catches another fish. "Got another one," as she reels in the line, when suddenly the fish's force pulls Missy out of the boat.

"MISSY!" George shouts as paternal instinct takes over. Not thinking much, George jumps into the water and swims towards Missy.

"HAHA," I laugh at them, finding their appearance a bit funny.

As I help Missy get back into the boat, in the distance, I see bubbles on the water's surface, and a head appears feeling the vibrations of George's strokes to get closer to the boat.

As Missy and I try to help George climb back in, due to his weight, I can't manage it.

As I try to help George, he says, "No, it won't work like this. It's better if you steer the boat closer to the shore, I'll hold onto the boat and follow you."

"Alright," I say, but then my expression turns serious and stern, "George, hurry!" I shout because in the distance, I notice the bubbles getting closer to George.

Realizing there wouldn't be time, the bubbles were approaching very fast, I quickly grab the shotgun and aim at the bubbles on the lake.

BOOM TICK TICK BOOM TICK TICK BOOM TICK TICK

"KYAAAA," Missy screams, realizing the danger her father was in, she grabs the Beretta pistol and shoots awkwardly and quickly in the direction of the bubbles.

PAM PAM PAM PAM PAM

As I shoot shotgun rounds into the lake, George startles, realizing the situation he's in. Soon blood stains the dark, murky water crimson, and we see the body of a 4-meter alligator floating in the water.

Realizing the danger had passed, George shouts, "GO, GO, GO," while holding onto the edge of the boat as I start the motor and head towards the port.

--- One hour later --- The sky was already darkening, the glow of the setting sun reflected on the water turning it into a beautiful sight.

We arrived at the port with George, who managed to climb a ladder.

"Thank you, kids, you saved me," George says as he hugs me and Missy.

Then I mention George's bear hug with a muffled voice.

"George, you're wet and smelly," "Sorry," George says as he scratches his head apologetically and lets go of my hug.

Then we notice a situation, Missy silently cries on George's hug.

When she separates from George, she speaks in a tearful and hoarse voice, "Dad, I was so scared of losing you. It was my fault, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry," Missy says as she wipes her eyes, which were already red from crying, and sniffles the snot coming out of her nose.

"Oh, dear, you don't need to apologize. If it happened again, I'd jump into the lake without hesitation to save you. You're my only daughter, and I'd never let anything happen to you," George says reassuringly as he hugs Missy again.

Amidst the father-daughter hugs and caresses, I say, "Well, I didn't want to interrupt your intimate moment, but it's past six o'clock already, the sky is getting dark, we need to find a place to camp," I say, "and You're all wet. If we hit the road now, you might catch a cold," I continue.

Then George says, "I haven't thanked you enough, Connor. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be here. Thank you very much. I consider you as a son I never had, not an idiot who only thinks about girls since puberty or an arrogant and problematic super-genius," George says, "But a true son."

I'm touched and turn away, saying, "Thank you, I consider you my family, of course I would help you," as I wipe a tear from my eye.

"Quick, we need to find a place to camp," I say to George, trying to disguise my state. "Of course, of course," George nods in satisfaction, noticing my state.

Dududududu Udu, as we rode the motorcycle, we soon spotted a clearing and decided to camp.

As George took things from the motorcycle bag to set up the tent, I gathered some twigs and dry leaves to make a fire.

George and I make a fire and find two dead logs to use as benches, making sure there are no venomous animals, we drag the logs closer to the already lit fire.

As we sit by the fire to dry our clothes, I say, "It's the perfect time for this," I say to George and Missy.

"This?" George and Missy ask in confusion. I get up and go towards the motorcycle, grabbing the guitar case hanging on the side of the motorcycle. I then change my voice to Matthew Hall's (Youtuber) and say to them,

"This," I say happily.

"I'll pay to see this," says George with Missy beside him, looking at me curiously.

Then I strum the guitar while whistling.
