Chapter 15 Detention and Rewards 1/3

As I exit the cafeteria, intending to spend the remaining time in the library, I don't want to be pointed at and seen as a zoo animal—it's uncomfortable. But soon, my remaining peace is interrupted by a voice calling out to me.

"Mr. Kenway, right?" asks a plump blonde woman holding a book.

"Yes?" I respond, confused. "The principal is calling for you in his office."

I sigh heavily and say, "Alright, thank you very much, Mrs. Hutchins," nodding my head in resignation as I get up and head towards the principal's office.

Upon entering the principal's office, I see gathered there my Uncle George and the Rugby Coach looking at me strangely, Tam and her parents, along with two other couples and a lone man, and the principal giving me a look like he's not having a good day.

The originally spacious office of Principal Petersen now feels small with so many people gathered.

I calmly look at the faces of the parents of the students I fought and exhale coldly, which only seems to anger them more than before.

"Hello, Principal Petersen, to what do I owe the honor of being in your office?" I say calmly, giving a mocking salute.

The principal sighs, pondering the troubles this boy, whom he approved to skip a grade, has been causing him just two days after arriving at his school. And to make matters worse, the boy has beaten up three older boys and sent them to the hospital.

"Principal, since we're all here, I would like an explanation as to why my son is in a hospital bed instead of in school," the lone man asks the principal but obviously glares at me.

"Well, Mr. Peter, it's complicated," says the principal, but I interrupt, returning the man's stare and saying, "Principal, if you allow me to explain what happened in detail, perhaps this man will have no more doubts about what occurred in the cafeteria." I gesture with my hands. "I think it would be more appropriate," I say, giving him a reassuring smile.

Receiving my signal, the principal says, "Go ahead, Mr. Kenway, we're listening."

After some time of Tam and me explaining what happened, the principal's and George's initial nervousness visibly diminishes as they understand the situation and how it unfolded.

End of Chapter -

I was thinking, could it be that every author is schizophrenic, since he needs to interact with the characters he needs to talk a lot to himself?, I know because I am both
