The Unknown World

"Amber's POV"

It's been two nights already and I was still not waking up from my nightmare, now that I thought of it I should have been glad to be human despite my ruined face.

Who do I ask? If I'm dead or alive there didn't seem to be humans anywhere just talking animals that scared the living day light out of me.

And now I'm supposed to accept my fate of being a flower forever? Maybe this was how the afterlife felt like.No humans because the bodies got decayed on earth, reincarnation into flowers must be absolutely normal here.

I regretted the way I treated Nanny Elsa the last time I should have been more nicer, I wonder if I have been buried back at home.

Aunt Rosy would be so glad she's been relieved of the household duties,I've always known she saw me as a pain in the neck. I cried softly "even a flower has emotions wow what a luck." I joked painfully.

"Where in the world is Peggy?" Oh sorry I meant Loel I thought correcting myself.

He looked a lot like Peggy but he claims he's not,the only difference I could see was his fur color.I must be hallucinating things again,it shouldn't be a surprise as even this world is a dream itself.

The other flowers were asleep as it was noon.

By sunset we could move around the meadow freely without still breaking the barrier in which Master Wolgnut casted a binding spell on it, to prevent us from escaping.

It was also quite fascinating to move regardless of being a flower I became friends with the small tree next to my flower bed.

Katus, was his name and he had originally been an elf, every single plant here weren't in their actual forms he explained a night ago.Master Wolgnut bought us from the black market which he frequented every full moon.

I had wondered all through the night what my previous form could be,a rock? Or probably a squirrel or something out of my imagination.

My heartbeat increased it's tempo and I stayed awake all night dreading what would become of me in the next moment then I heard a loud joyful squeak I blinked my eyes, shockingly a dog and a rabbit appeared before me.

"My lady I'm so honored to meet you I go by the name Balrus the Rabbit I've been sent by the Queen to rescue you.Loel guided me to your harbor since we met at the river bank few nights ago.I had to wait for the right time to show myself." Balrus introduced himself.

I looked to Loel then the Rabbit, his eyes were vicious and could inhale a horrible smell emitting from him.

He's a wild animal after all they're bound to stink but he looked clean though.

"I don't understand what you mean? Why are you referring to me as Mistress or My lady anyway?" I asked naively.

"Uhmmm Balrus don't bother I'll explain it to my Mistress instead. She lost her memory after the evil fox casted a spell on us I'll relay the message to her." Loel assured the Rabbit, he took few steps closer to me stretching his fore legs to bow slightly in front of me.

"Mistress he's Balrus the Queen's messenger. He had made his journey all the way from Quewarnds to save us in time before the dragons are awoken. If we leave here before sunset the barrier will be vulnerable to break out from." He straightened up his legs holding on to a dazzling pearl shaped object beneath his left foot it changed into rainbow like colors at intervals.

My heart beat thumped I was totally enthralled by just staring at it. So captivating how can anything be so beautiful.

"Can I touch it?" I blurted out mesmerized by the object.

" What? Mistress." Loel asked in oblivion glancing at me then Balrus in confusion.

"The glowing thing." I replied excitedly.

"Oh this is the drops from the Magical Stream Mistress it's for your survival ."He said extending his paws to me then Balrus cleared his throat noisily.

"I'd appreciate it if we focus more on the escape plan instead. Time is not on our side My lady me must run along." Balrus interrupted impatiently pacing back and forth.

"Yes Mistress we have to leave." Loel agreed immediately reaching for me he plucked out my stem. I flinched in anticipation of pain on the contrary I experienced a sense of freedom.

"The binding barrier would get stronger by moonlight our chance is now." Balrus revealed his eyes blazing in desperation, his smell became more unbearable.

I didn't understand how he could pass off such an unpleasant odor was I the only one capable of detecting it? It was horrible.

Loel placed me carefully in between his mouth.I trembled in fright because it wouldn't take him anything to munch me down his throat.

"I apologize for the inconvenience my Lady it'll only take a while." Balrus comforted eyeing me surreptitiously.

"Besides Loel is your trusted aide he can't harm you." He added moving swiftly ahead of us,Loel nodded his head in affirmation.

After few steps a tiny voice called out from behind us.

"Furry friend where are you taking the water drops to? I need it since Rose is leaving now I guess she has no use for it again." Liya, the Daisy shouted halting us in our track.

She had been kind and quite friendly to me for the past few days even if my instincts picked on her ulterior motive.

"Give it to her since she intentionally befriended me for the water so cunningly."I told Loel disgusted with her.

"Yes Mistress." He obliged flinging the pearl containing the water drops, twirling in the air it settled on her bed.

"Thank you Red Rose you're indeed a kind friend." Liya sang out delighted.

"How did you do that?" I asked fascinated by the pearl's movement.

"It was...." Loel was about to respond but Balrus disrupted him.

"Sunset is near." He warned grasping us both, the atmosphere illuminated covering us with a huge crystal ball in the twinkle of an eye we were in a dark cave.He kindled up blue flames across the vicinity just by the twitch of his fingers.

"Did you just do all that or am I daydreaming again?" I asked gaping unable to get our teleportation escapade off my head.

"Ridiculous My Lady you're the second daughter of the great Queen of the Mist Universe. It'll very disrespectful of me to attest my inferior powers to you." Balrus said leaning courteously in nobility as he walked in front leading us out of the cave.

I looked at Loel perplexed from below his nose.

"Mistress I'll tell you everything in details soon do not be disturbed." He mumbled in reply after noticing my countenance.

"Doesn't Balrus give off a terrible odor? Like a rotten corpse or do dogs not have an active sense of smell in this world?" I asked Loel frowning.

"Did you say 'rotten corpse'Mistress." He inquired stopping.

"Yes what's wrong?" I asked in surprise.

"Mistress detecting evil energy from grotesque and demons is one of your amazing and special powers. If it's really what you smelt then it means we've been tricked." He said his gaze fixated on the Rabbit's behind.

*Loel's POV*

I stared at Balrus closely from his sides, my mistress claimed to have perceived his energy. The Queen's messenger had the purest inner energy because he possessed no powers, only when he's granted the gem anklet for missions.

Besides,he was supposed to be limping as he sustained an injury on one of his errands in the past but he had been agile all through the while.

Who's this fake Balrus? A spy? An assasin? I calculated whether to flee immediately or to watch on.

Whoever this grotesque was he exhibited great powers how else could I explain how he got us out of the barrier so easily without any gem anklet.

I decided against taking flight until we safely got out of the cave.

"Having a hard time keeping up Loel?" Balrus asked slyly as he maintained his strides without looking back.

"Not at all you don't have to worry about us." I retorted in an hostile tone.

Then he paused in his steps abruptly,I froze in my spot correspondingly.

"Does he know I figured him out already?" I mumbled agitatedly.

"Who's that?" My Mistress asked ignorantly.

"Close your eyes. Take a deep breath Mistress, it'll be quick one." I whispered getting prepared for what may befall us.

"Are you angry at me Loel?" Balrus inquired slickly turning to face us he smirked.

"What's going on Loel?" My Mistress shivered In my mouth,I gnashed my teeth ready for the unforeseen.

Glaring at Balrus I backed away steadily.

"Loel! Loel! You're being too smart for your own good." He laughed evilly smashing a crystal ball to the ground, he transformed into a monster like grotesque, fiery eyed, long sharp claws roaring out to reveal his pointy black bloody teeth. He shadowed the cave with his huge figure.

"Your doom is near." He ranged advancing towards us madly.

My mistress screamed in terror blocking my ears and I instinctively tried racing off.

In an instant my vision blurred and I could only see darkness suppressing my entire body, struggling to release myself I sank deeper into it.
