Chapter 23: Mini Eight Quantum Point Array
Leng Ling turned back to Long Junjie and ignored the pair of bickering cousins.
"Is there a reason behind your visit, Brother Junjie, or were the three of you just saying hello ?"
"Both. Hai'er and Feng'er are nagging me for their courtyard arrays now that you've finished my residence."
"Me first, Ling'er! I'm sick of Meilin coming to whine in my ear about your engagement contract with Jun'er. It's like she just doesn't understand that it doesn't belong to her." (Fu Bohai)
"No! Me first! Everyone in my family keep annoying me for contact with you. At this rate I can't even go home without someone coming to beg." (Hu Feng)
"What are these courtyard arrays that you are talking about?" (Tang Tao)
"A miniature version of my Eight Quantum Point Array that I have around my residence. Designed specifically for courtyards instead of whole residences. I also have one in my personal courtyard here as does, Brother Junjie. It's the same in his residence."
"How exactly does the courtyard array work?" (Fu Ru)
"Ah, it means that only those who have the key rings assigned to them can enter. Because it's a personal area rather than a general, only those you absolutely trust can enter. For example, in my courtyard, only myself and my personal maid with be able to enter the bedroom and selected general servants into the other areas. In Brother Junjie's courtyard, only himself and his personal servant can enter.
The master key can grant permission to general servants if they need to temporarily enter and can also revoke permission if the personal servant changes for whatever reason.
Because we are friends who enter each other's residences often, all arrays have been keyed to our current rings with the owner of the courtyard as the master of that array. However that permission doesn't go as far as the array owner's bedroom unless the owner wishes it.
People without rings can only go as far as the entry yard once you allow them entry. A guest ring or servant ring would be needed to enter the buildings themselves."
"That sounds quite interesting. I wouldn't mind one for myself." (Tang Tao)
"Mmmmm it sounds quite useful. I wouldn't mind it either." (Fu Ru)
"Hey! Wait your turn! We've been waiting for days for our arrays!" (Fu Bohai)
"It'll take me half a day to set up each courtyard. So how about getting Brother Hu's and Young Master Tang's down tomorrow, and then I can do Brother Bohai's and Brother Ru's, the day after?" (Leng Ling)
"You can't do any of them today, Sister Ling'er?" (Hu Feng)
"Ummmmm, probably not. It's not early anymore. My servants have only just arrived and I still need to run the rules through with the heads." (Leng Ling)
Four groans resounded throughout the hall while Long Junjie just smirked. Since his residence was already completed, he no longer had to worry. He had handed out his servant rings the day before once Leng Ling had finished setting the arrays up.
"Princess Ling'er, are you there?"
A male voice distrupted the banter in the hall. Tang Tao and Fu Ru looked around confused as they didn't recognize the voice. To their amazement Leng Ling lifted her arm and a holographic man's figure appeared above it.
"Laohu Laoshi? What is it? Did something happen?" (Leng Ling)
"Do you have any more of that Holly Berry Fruit you got from Brother She? Liang'er went too close to the volcanic region of the Fire Phoenix Tribe and got fire poison after falling into a cave for 3 days." (Laohu Zhen)
"Ah, yes, give me an hour and I'll send it through to you. I'll let you know when it's done." (Leng Ling)
The holographic form disappeared then and Leng Ling looked up at Long Junjie.
"I'll be out in an hour. You can explain to them." (Leng Ling)
Long Junjie nodded and to the uninformed men's surprised, Leng Ling disappeared from their sight.
"Where did Little Sister go? How did she disappear like that? (Fu Ru)
"Nevermind that! What the heck is that bracelet she's wearing? How does it combine communication with memory recording?!" (Tang Tao)
"One thing at a time." (Long Junjie)
