After School Meeting

Walking back from after lunch back to our classrooms also caught the eye of many people. I decided to ignore them and dropped off Tochak-san before going back to my own classroom. Although I was getting stares constantly for the rest of the day, I tried ignoring them to the best of my abilities until school ended. I packed my stuff and before getting up, I saw Kenji walking towards me

"I am ready."

"Thats great. Tochaki-san is waiting for us."

"I'm still a bit nervous though."

"Don't worry too much. I'm sure Tochaki-san will forgive you if you really changed."

"Alright."

I got up and walked with Kenji to Tochaki-san's classroom. She was in there herself.

"Kenji, I'll go in first and then you follow me. Is that alright?"

"Yea."

I walked in the classroom and Tochaki-san looked in my direction. She showed a smile on her face. However, that smile didn't last very long. She looked over at me and saw Kenji. Her smile faded and ran towards my arms.

"Dear… what's he doing here?"

It seems Tochaki–san is still wary of Kenji even though it has been weeks since the accident I had with him. It was understandable though. Tochaki-san has not talked to him ever since that day.

"Don't worry, Kenji isn't here to fight. As a matter of fact, he is here to apologize."

"Apologize?"

Kenji was standing in front of us while smiling. However, Tochaki-san still must have not been convinced because she doesn't seem to want to let go of my arm.

"It's alright Tochaki-san. He changed and I think you can forgive him."

"How can I forgive someone who hurts you dear…"

What a stubborn girl she is, and I initially thought this would be easy.

"Umm. Kinai-san…"

It seems Kenji finally spoke up.

"I'm sure the last thing you want to hear from me is an apology. But I really need you to hear it. I know I was a complete jerk back then and I just can't accept myself for not apologizing earlier. Of course your free to not accept it but I need to say it… I hope our relationship can get better in the future."

Kenji was lowering his head the whole time while speaking. He finished and  turned and started walking away. But after a few steps he stopped.

"Oh… and Juni… thank you for bringing me here today. It lifted a lot of weight in my heart."

He continued walking while not looking back. However, it seems like Tochaki-san let go of my arms and stepped up.

"Tachi."

Kenji stopped and looked back at the now Tochaki-san who was standing alone.

"...I guess if dear forgives you… I have no reason to hold and grudge… but if something like that happens again… don't get mad at me for throwing you another punch…"

She said that and immediately ran back to me and held my arms. I don't understand how she can be this cute when someone else is looking at us. It seems like she doesn't care about the environment around us anymore. Kenji's face lit up finally.

"Of course Kinai. I will dismiss myself now. See you tomorrow Juni."

"Yea. Goodbye."

Kenji finally left school and me and Tochaki-san were the only ones left in this school.

"I told you he changed, didn't I?"

Tochaki-san's buried face was now looking at me.

"I really didn't want to forgive him for hurting you dear…"

"I'm sure he won't act like that again."

"And if he does?"

"I'll let you have it with him."

"...That doesn't make me happy…"

She was now showing a pouty face with a sad look on her face. Even with a sad face she still looks extremely cute.

"I don't know what I would do if you got hurt again dear…"

Again, a surprise Tochaki-san attack. I knew my face was red and it was burning a bit. 

"Tochaki-san, I promise I would be alright. You can trust me on this one. Kenji even helped me when there was a hoard  of people surrounding me today. It shows he genuinely changed."

"Mmm…dear…"

Alright. Time for plan B.

I took out my free hand and patted her head. Her lowered face was now looking at me with a closed eye.

"It feels nice…"

"There is nothing you have to worry about Tochaki-san. If you're still worried you are free to talk to me whenever at school. We are dating now so  there are no restrictions."

"Are you trying to make me convinced by patting my head so I would calm down before telling me this?"

Ah. Caught red headed. What a smart girl. Maybe she isn't an airhead afterall. 

"Maybe. But you like head pats don't you?"

"I do but…dear… can you 100% promise me you would be alright?"

"Yea. I still have Kanjiro who you can trust right? I'm sure Kanjiro would also accept Kenji with open arms."

"Alright dear… but if something happens I'm locking you in my room and you would never see the light of day ever again."

I giggled a little but Tochaki-san had a straight face. I knew she was joking but I couldn't help it when she said it with such a serious tone.

"And what would I do in your room for the rest of eternity?"

"...Pat my head… and hug me while sleeping."

"You can ask me to do that even if I wasn't trapped in your room."

It seems I got Tochaki-san embarrassed now because she buried her face in my arms again while making such cute noises.

"Dummy… don't say it out loud…"

I laughed more which seemed to only make Tochaki-san more annoyed and she again pouted.
