The Aeternus Universe

The year of humanity is 2415, and DDVR and VRMMORPG's are commonplace now. It's extremely hard for a new game to come out and be successful. The greats of these genres have ruled for a few centuries now. A new game is releasing soon, and it has promise to be one of those. The Aeternus Universe. A Virtual Reality game has what you would expect from a game in this genre. However, some things make it special. One of those being the exploration and adventure through galaxies and The Aeternus Universe. Other games in this genre take it to fantasy and medieval times. This is set in a universe where there are super advanced technologies, spaceships, and Mecha suits—lost Alien tech ready to be found and claimed. Some of these all come together. The story starts 2 days before the release of the game, and with our protagonist—a 20-year-old male by the name of Scott Autumn. He is one of the few jumping from the current major game to this one. Seeing its potential for greatness and chance to be one of the biggest games on the market.

{The story on P-a-t-r-e-o-n is at 130+ chapters.}

Jessica and I walk the streets outside the spaceport, and I see the shooting range up ahead. "That's where we are going to be for our next conversation." I point towards the shooting range, and she gets more and more excited. We make it up to the door, and we enter.

She follows me to a free shooting lane, and I draw Little Boy. I shoot it a couple of times, and she watches as I do so. The custom aiming mechanism I have built inside the weapon is doing most of the work for me. I'm going to do the same for Jessica's blaster when I build it.

After I stop my demonstration, I place it on the table in front of me, pointing down the lane. I move out of the way. She is hesitating, so I gently grab her and move her to where I was standing. "Pick it up while you shoot. I'm going to explain some things you need to know." I turned off the aim assist on the blaster so she can see just how difficult it is.

She picks it up with both hands and points at the target. She pulls the trigger, and a shot comes out. She wasn't prepared for the bright light, but I caught her before she could fall on the ground.

We both laugh at the scene. "Do you know why that happened?" She shakes her head and is waiting for an explaining. "Blasters don't have recoil since there is no gunpowder. They are completely energy-based. However, the light exiting can be a little surprising. As you have just experienced." She nods along with my explanation.

I stand behind her, and I lean my chest into her from behind so she doesn't fall again. She fidgets a bit at the close proximity, but this will help brace her for any more surprises.

I help her hold the gun up, and she points it down the lane. She shoots a couple more times, but they all miss. She is aiming too high, hitting above the target and the ceiling of the lane. She must be going through the same involuntary twitches I did—a forced game mechanic for someone who doesn't have a shooting trait.

I wrap my arms around her and bring my hands up to the blaster. I turn the aim assist on with a mental command. "The game has a mechanic that forces your body to twitch when you shoot. This can be avoided in two ways." I whisper into her ear as I stand behind her.

She leans into me a bit harder at the current set of events. She is getting distracted. She lays her head on my chest. "Focus, Jess." She snaps out of it at my words. "The first way to hit your targets is to get a shooting trait from a mentor. Someone who can teach you things." She nods her head as I explain this part. "Mentors can be found anywhere, even walking along the street. Every NPC has a job and a function." Durado is a special legendary figure in The Aeternus Universe. "However, quality mentors are what you should be after. Not one you can find on the street." She nods as she continues to absorb the information.

I pull the trigger for her as my hands are on top of hers. This time the Blaster hits the target, now that the aim assist is on. She looks at the target in slight confusion. "The second way is building a custom blaster, like Little Boy, to aim for you." I stop holding the blaster from behind her and she takes this chance to shoot.

She hits shot after shot. Hitting the target over and over. Soon the gun begins to get a little hot and she drops it. I catch her hands before she can bring them to her face. "Be mindful of overheating with energy-based weapons." She slowly nods her head as she watches me bring her hands to my lips.

I gently plant kisses on them, hoping that they'll feel better. She leans her butt into my crotch and that's when things start to get a little hot. I stop kissing her hands and pull away. I bend down and pick up Little Boy.

I holster it and turn to her as I stand. "Now let's go and get some blaster parts. I'll build you a weapon, and you can name it." I notice that her head is slightly tilted as she's off in fantasy land.

I snap my fingers in front of her and she shakes her head coming out of it. "Let's go, you airhead." She huffs as I say that, but she obeys.
