~~~(POV Durado)~~~
The trail that I've been following keeps leading to dead ends. Ziller is proving to be one of the hardest people to find. The more I find out about his location and destinations, the farther back I seem. At this rate, he'll leave the world before I can catch him.
Likely causing mass destruction and death as he does. I might have to get the kid's help sooner than I wanted. Two people searching are better than one after all. I'm in Newton-9 right now, and Scott hangs around Newton-14. The public transportation will take about 2 hours to get to the spaceport where my ship is.
Once there, I can head to where he's staying and get his help. I'll share all the information I've gathered with him. Maybe he'll see something that I missed. I make my way out of the destroyed safe house. I step over recently killed bodies in the path that leads to it.
They were easy to kill. Hardly any of them could hold a blaster, let alone shoot. I lower my hat to hide the upper half of my face as I walk the dilapidated streets of Newton-9. Since it's a city that isn't close to a spaceport, there are many crimes. It's like a big giant ghetto.
Perfect for scum like Ziller. I look around the streets from time to time as I walk. There are prostitutes and pimps, along with drug deals, right on the streets. The authorities don't come out to the cities that aren't important.
Such as Newton-9. All the players have moved on from this city and have headed to one of the two cities with spaceports. "You look mighty familiar stranger..." I hear a voice come from behind me, but I ignore it. "You ignoring me, boy!?" I spin around and draw a blaster before any of them can react.
I blast holes in all of them. The man trying to start something falls to the ground dead. I twirl my blaster and holster it. "Damn rodents..." I mumble to myself as I turn around and continue walking. The people around that watched continue with their business.
I hear some people dragging the bodies away behind me. I think about what I should do if Scott can't figure it out. I want to get Ziller before he completes whatever it is he's planning. All of a sudden, my holo com goes off. I take it off my belt and hold it in front of me.
A small hologram pops up, and it's none other than Ziller. It seems he found me before I found him. Talk about hurting my pride. "I heard that you're looking for me. I would never have thought that the Legendary Durado would be after little old me. I don't appreciate you blowing up all my safehouse and killing all my men. So this is your only warning. Stop hunting me. If you refuse, well, I got plans for that." Before I can say anything, he stops the call. I can't hold in my anger as I crush the holo com in my hand, and it falls to the ground, broken.
I look towards the rail system that leads out of Newton-9 and head towards Newton-14. I walk towards it and ascend the escalator. I enter the hypersonic train and take a seat. I pull out a datapad from my inventory, and I start reading the information I've gathered on Ziller.
The main thing that I'm worried about is him gathering so many malfunctioning hyperdrives. The quantum technology in the hyperdrives can be modified to explode. If you gather enough of them in one place and detonate them, let's just say quantum splitting a planet isn't a pretty sight.
He keeps getting them from old junkyards in Newton-3, Newton-5, and Newton-12. Those are the only consistent places that he has his men go to. He's smart not leaving where he is and leaving when I do get close. "It's going to be your turn kid, sorry I gotta show up earlier than expected..." Time to see if my instincts are right about Scott.
I have a feeling that he'll be one of the best bounty hunters ever if I take him under my wing. He probably could do it without me, but it's time I started teaching someone just like my mentor before me.
