The Aeternus Universe

The year of humanity is 2415, and DDVR and VRMMORPG's are commonplace now. It's extremely hard for a new game to come out and be successful. The greats of these genres have ruled for a few centuries now. A new game is releasing soon, and it has promise to be one of those. The Aeternus Universe. A Virtual Reality game has what you would expect from a game in this genre. However, some things make it special. One of those being the exploration and adventure through galaxies and The Aeternus Universe. Other games in this genre take it to fantasy and medieval times. This is set in a universe where there are super advanced technologies, spaceships, and Mecha suits—lost Alien tech ready to be found and claimed. Some of these all come together. The story starts 2 days before the release of the game, and with our protagonist—a 20-year-old male by the name of Scott Autumn. He is one of the few jumping from the current major game to this one. Seeing its potential for greatness and chance to be one of the biggest games on the market.

~~~(POV: Scott Autumn)~~~
~~~(Location: Primordium Prime, Escaping on Immortalitas)~~~

As I enter the command deck of Immortalitas, Aurora pops up next to me on the terminal and is already launching the ship. The massive Primordium Dreadnaught lets out a long hum of power that vibrates the chest.

"All systems are maximum, and energy has been completely restored."

Aurora gives me a run-down of the situation.

Knowing that the sooner we get out of here, the better it is for us. The part that pisses me out is I can't complete the quest I have. Not until The Primeval Inherent and the Parasite are dealt with.

"That's good, get us out of here. No time for a Genesis Dimension jump with The Primordium Drives. Do a regular jump as far away from here as possible."

Aurora follows my orders.

Once far enough away from Primordium Prime, she launches the Hyperdrive, and I plop down on the closest chair.

"Now that Patient Observer knows you exist. He'll start searching for you everywhere. I trapped him in Primordium Primes systems, but I don't know how long that'll hold. If he's not free already..."

Great, another thing after me...

I need a break from all this crap and see the outside world. Jessica is probably wondering why I've been in for so long.

"Aurora, I want you to continue jumping at the max range on the Hyperdrives until you reach a galaxy that's either uninhabited or a safe place we won't be bothered for a few days. I need some time to think in the real world..."

She nods her head as I close my eyes...

I'm not logging out quite yet, cause I need to process everything that's happened... I've discovered my homeworld in The Aeternus Universe...

Primordium Prime has secrets and tech that I couldn't possibly build with my current knowledge base. Almost forgot about Durado.

"Aurora, please free Durado... I need to speak with him."

She looks over her shoulder at me.

Showing me how displeased she is at the idea that she has to deal with Durado while I'm not around.

"Fine, but I've blocked his access to any of the systems, and I won't be responding to any of his supposed commands."

The quotation she uses with her fingers makes me smile. They're both mature... At least enough to handle the time that I'm gone.

She snaps her fingers, and Durado falls out of the chair he's in. He takes a bunch of deep breaths, and he's quickly blinking his eyes.

"What the hell happened!? Why is my vision so blurry! Why are my eyes so dry!? Aurora, what in the hell did you do to me!?"

He tries to look around for the holographic woman and AI, but all he sees is a blurry outline of me.

He moves over to the exact seat he fell out of and takes a seat. Blinking over and over.

"Don't worry. Your vision will clear up in a few hours. Aurora will explain everything that's happened since you've been out. Now I'm leaving. Aurora, that's an order."

A long and frustrated sigh comes from the terminal she was just on as she pops back up.

Now that they're sorted out, I'm logging off. I open my Player Interface, and I leave The Aeternus Universe.

The lid to my gaming pod opens, and I step out onto the soft carpet of my room. It's 10:00 PM at night, and I look towards my bed. Only to see my sister sleeping in it.

I don't mind, but what's the point of her room if she's using mine.

My stomach growls, and I'm hit with incredible hunger. First things first, I've got to use the bathroom. I take care of business in the bathroom and find myself in the kitchen.

As I look through the cupboards and fridge, I notice there is a lot more food.

"Jess must've gone shopping..."

That was nice of her to do... I'll have to repay her for that...

My stomach grumbles, and my focus is realigned. With all my mental gifts, losing focus because of my hunger kinda hurts my pride and ego...

Well... That's just biology...

I get some chicken from the fridge, tossing it in the air fryer. Wasting no time on the stove. Cause I've only been this hungry a few times, and those were when I was forced to exit games to take care of my real body. I cut it close this time.
