~~~(POV: Scott Autumn)~~~
The hours have passed fast, and the delivery for all the parts should be arriving in the next few minutes. Jess and I spent a lot of time talking, but after a few hours, she left and is doing her own thing. She told me to message her through the player interface after I'm done with the ship now that we're on each other's friends list.
Durado and I are leaving after I finish Jessica's ship. I'll have enough time to assemble it and give it to her before Durado gets back with all the things he's handling. I know that we're leaving Empyrian, and wherever we're going is dangerous.
I gently tap my finger on the countertop as I wait for the delivery to get here. The downside of being as smart as me is you're bored very easily. Filling the time with making designs is fun, but being in your own head for too long can cause issues with your personality.
I close my eyes and count down the time in my head. They say that focusing on the concept of time can make you think it's moving by faster. I like that thought, but time flows the same everywhere. Except for black holes, but those are special exceptions.
My thoughts drift to my mission to find my homeworld, I have a destination, and I have a ship. However, I know that it's far too early to go on such a dangerous mission. Spending time learning from Durado will be an important step in my growth in The Aeternus Universe.
I need to learn everything he has to offer. My thoughts are interrupted by the rumbling of a loud starship engine. The opening at the top of the workshop unlatches and slowly slides open. I look up, and all I see is a single ship. It drops off a single container in the center of the workshop.
It's an item box, an exclusive storage container that only manufacturers of ship parts use. They had to solve the problem of transporting large ship parts to small places like this. So the item box was made. It works like a player's inventory, except it holds ship parts.
I stand up as the opening closes and the starship's roaring engines fade away. The design of the spaceport allows people to navigate their ships to commercial areas. This is a commercial area, hence why they were able to fly their ship inside the spaceport.
I walk up to the item box, and I press my finger against the panel. It lights up and shows a list of everything in the item box. All the parts are here, and that means I can start building. I pick the item box up and move it to one of the starship repair and builder workstations.
I place the item box down on the platform across from Autumn's Fall. I focus back on the panel and select unload all parts. I back away, watching the item box neatly place all the ship parts on the platform. The platform is easily large enough to fit everything.
Once the item box is done, I watch it turn off and proceed to melt. Companies use Molecular Decay to protect assets like item boxes from being reverse-engineered. The item box was only meant for transportation, not for keeping. Hence, it's served its purpose.
I stand on the edge of the platform and look at all the parts. "Time to get this party started." I get all the necessary equipment to start the construction of Jessica's ship. Due to my mental talents, it will not take me more than 8 hours to construct this ship. I'm going to make it my best work.
I get started with all the internal systems and set those up along the skeleton. The skeleton of a ship is where you align wiring and tire all the computing systems together. This takes me about 3 hours to do. I spend another 2 hours putting in the power core and hyperdrive engines along with the weapon systems.
I set them all up. Lastly, I put the hull together. This takes me about 2 hours. I'm finished. In less than 8 hours, totaling 7. I look at my work, and all that's left is to paint it Umbral Blue and get Jess here to name it. It's a beautiful and powerful ship. Much better than mine. The system says it's 7.1 stars out of 10. She's going to love it.
