Chapter 9

 After a long lecture from his sister, the young man was resigned to his fate, even though no part of him becoming a student was particularly interesting to him, it wasn`t totally boring either, he has heard of an upcoming school event which he was partially anticipating as he heard there were going to be a lot of hot girls in attendance.

 "Looks like its going to be an interesting night after all" he thought. Even though he had left his previous lavish lifestyle, he still wished for it and sought to enjoy every opportunity he sees, everything will be fine as long as he doesn`t take dilute the noble blood which runs through his veins.

 To be honest, Tommy wanted nothing to do with reading with the group, after about an hour, he was tired of reading and kept yawning all through. 

 Lith even thought a good idea will be to split them up and give them short personal assignments, he hoped that will make him concentrate. 

 He realized that was a big mistake after he came back a few moments later only to meet the fatty in a good position deep asleep- apparently, he had been looking for an opening and one fell right into his lap. 

 Thankfully, he wasn`t deep asleep and was successfully woken up with not much effort, although it could be seen how much he wished to go back to sleep from his heavy eyes and sleepy expression. 

 Eventually, Lith decided to give up on Tommy for now and focus on teaching Annabel who was still pretty much awake, probably he wasn`t the type to read in the evenings or he had probably been stressed due to the days activities.

 The last point sounded more likely as it was a pretty common fact that fat people get tired more quickly than the average man. Lith sometimes even wonders how fatty manages to carry himself despite him looking like a round mass of fat.

 Tommy didn`t want to be left out of the group and definitely didn`t want to be seen such during his first day of visiting a beautiful girl like Annabel, he didn`t want to look like a lazy person, that won`t be befitting of him, not that his appearance was befitting though.

 He decided to walk around, hoping he could clear the sleep off his eyes, he drank water, washed his face, nothing seemed to work. Whenever a man wants to impress a woman, he normally goes beyond his limits, just that at this point, the sleep in Tommy`s eyes was something him going above his usual limits couldn`t solve anymore.

 He was just straying endlessly when he saw something he was very familiar with, a gaming set-up, although it wasn`t arranged and looked like it hasn`t been used in days, this was not a problem to someone that played games for more than one-third of the day, anyone looking for a shortcut to heaven should definitely consider breaking the fatty`s gaming equipment.

 Just like darkness goes as soon as the sun shows, sleep left his eyes as soon as he sat on the chair and turned on the monitor, he didn`t look like someone who was fighting a losing battle against sleep a few minutes ago. He decided to play for a few minutes to clear sleep away thoroughly from his eyes.

 His expression was quite a scene to behold as he was left aghast after discovering that majority of the games on the console where children games, trending games like Call of Duty, Arma3, and so on where nowhere to be found, what a waste. 

 Anyone witnessing this scene would have been shocked to the core as he dipped his hands to one of his side pockets and brought out an external drive and soon dived into the world of gaming, forgetting his initial purpose of being here, all his plans of removing sleep from his eyes and joining the group evaporated into thin air as he looked to have entered another realm.

 Annabel was getting worried as to where Tommy could have gone, she was about to go and look for him when she started hearing shouts coming from where her gaming setup was, she went to check what in the world was going on, Lith following closely behind.

 They were met by an astonishing scene, the fatty they were worried about was right in front of them having the time of his life. 

 He was immersed in a world of his own, it was as if he was separated from the outside world, he didn`t even notice that a group of people were watching him. 

 Annabel wanted to bring him back to the real world so they could continue their group reading as they have reached quite an important stage and it would take quite some effort for him to catch up on his own, not to consider that the lesson would soon be coming to an end.

 However, due to his experience, Lith knew it was more likely to see a blue moon than it was likely that the fatty would leave his game to read. If he was even able to successfully find a way to make the fatty leave the game, it was impossible for him to suddenly start reading. 

 "Just leave him alone, I will find time to teach him personally later" he said shaking his head. 

 As Tommy was playing, he felt a feeling as though he was watched. However, he thought danger was approaching him in the game and therefore put more effort above normal to ensure the success of the mission. 

 Seeing him get more serious with the game dashed all her hopes of getting this fatty to resume his reading, at least not today. 

 She later resigned herself with a sigh and left to continue reading with Lith.

 It was truly not an underestimation when gamers play for hours on a stretch as Tommy didn`t even know as night drew closer. 

 He suddenly felt a tap his shoulder which shocked him to the core as he thought he had suppressed all the enemies talk less of someone coming close enough as to tap him. 

 When he scanned and didn`t sense anyone around him was when a sudden realization hit him as he checked his sides only to discover Lith and Annabel at his two sides, he could only scratch and lower his head in embarrassment. Who could have thought that a few minutes of gaming will become hours. 

 It went without saying that Annabel gave him quite an earful while Lith showered him with lots of sarcastic praises which hurt a lot.
