"Where are you taking me?" I asked him. We are in a middle of the road. He was playing a music in his stereo. Honestly, I never imagine myself sitting in his shotgun seat nor agreeing to him in this midnight drive.

But maybe, he's right. I need to breath. I need a little glimpse of the beauty of this world. I should look on the brighter side. I should stop going in the dark—but who am I kidding? I haven't proven anything yet. I am still a struggling student. I need to graduate and take a job. I need to become a lawyer and punish those who are accountable for thier sins.

He glances at me. "In a safe place." he answered after a long silence.

I squinted my eyes on him. "I am not in danger."

He chuckle. "Yes. You are not in danger—physically. But in your head? No."

I kept silence. What else I could say? He is right. My head is running and inside, there are a lot of ribbons rambled with each other. I want to punch him for taking me somewhere else knowing I have a quiz for Obligations and Contracts tomorrow. I have to study.

But for some reasons, I found myself being with him. Maybe...even if I agrue with myself with this—he is my safe haven. He is my safe place in this chaotic world.

"You'll enjoy this, I promise you." He assure me again.

I rolled my eyes. "Stop saying those words."

He shook his head. I just stared at the dark grasses and the road we were taking until he finally stop the car.

"You'll love it" he said again as he get his seatbelt off him.

And he was right. As soon as I jump out of the car, the city lights envelopes my eyes. The cold wind hugs me as if comforting me for everything I have been through—and the stars—they look like winking at me, as if telling me that everything will be all right. And him—Karius Nixon Valle—his presence makes me feel safe, all the time.
