Chapter 15

“Ahhh.” Todd grabbed her hand in his and spun her. “No pinching. And definitely no groping.” He saw that Nick had returned to their table. A quick flick of his wrist and a pointed stare he knew Nick recognized as a signal to come back was met with a blank look. “I sort of let Luck think that I wouldn’t be in any games until tomorrow.”

“Trust me,” Heidi said and worked her fingers over Todd’s shoulder muscle as they did another turn around the dance floor. “You’ll want to be in this game. This is where you’ll make the contacts that will count.”

“Contacts?” Todd asked and looked over Heidi’s head at Nick. He was leaning against the chair, arms crossed over his chest, long legs stretched in front of him, crossed at his ankles. When Todd dipped his head at Heidi and pressed his lips to a tight line, Nick waved.

Then the bastard smiled.

“Everyone needs contacts—and allies, Mr. McCabe. Particularly when it comes to a game of chance.”
