Chapter 7
Many things occurred to Nathan as he stared into the morning, not the least being how difficult it was going to be to get home. He was naked and looked as if he’d gone ten rounds with a grizzly bear.
Clothes. He needed some, or at least something that would conceal his nakedness. Using both the wall and the side of the dumpster bin for support, he eased himself to his feet, grimacing against the jabbing pain that speared through his body. Once upright, he scoured the detritus in the corners of the alleyway for something suitable. There was plenty of newspaper, which would have to do if he couldn’t find anything else, but it would be a last resort. There were plastic bags aplenty and even an empty flour sack, which he snatched up just in case.
