After leaving the dojo, Jun hurried to Mr. Psychic's house to pick up Beldum. His time in Saffron City was already up, and he needed to return to Vermilion City first.
Upon arriving at Mr. Psychic's house, he was surprised to see his Beldum already waiting for him, along with Mr. Psychic, who had a bag on his back.
"Mr. Psychic, are you leaving? Why did you bring so many bags?" Jun asked.
"Something has come up, Jun. I need to leave and take care of it. As for your Beldum's training, just follow the instructions I gave you," Mr. Psychic replied, leaving Jun taken aback. However, he nodded in understanding since he had only known Mr. Psychic for a short time and didn't want to pry for more information.
After bidding farewell to Mr. Psychic, Jun hurried to his aunt's house, humming a cheerful tune as he went.
As he arrived, he called out, "I'm back!"
His aunt greeted him warmly and asked, "How did your training go? Did you make any progress?"
"Overall, it was good," Jun replied. "Say, Aunt, would it be alright if I borrow your computer for a little while?"
His aunt was surprised and nodded, pulling out her laptop from the bag and giving it to Jun.
"Alright, thank you aunt," Jun nodded, then went to his room.
"Ah, by the way Jun, before the main school starts, there will be an assessment for rookie trainers. Have you already prepared for it?" his aunt asked.
"Assessment? What assessment?" Jun was taken aback.
"Don't tell me you forgot about it," his aunt squinted her eyes, making Jun scratch his head.
"Haa.. In the laptop, there will be a file about it on the desktop. You can look at it for an overview of the assessment," his aunt said.
"Ah, okay," Jun nodded and went to his room to look at the assessment.
'Ah, so this assessment Aunt mentioned is this assesment,' Jun thought.
It was basically a assesment organized by Scarlett Middle-High School for all students who just joined and got their starter Pokemon. The assessment aimed to determine which rookie had the most potential after got their first Pokemon.
Jun skipped the assessment and quickly moved on to search for information on how to submit academic papers and which subject to focus on. Since Pokemon have been integrated into people's lives and their status is important, almost all of the studies are related to their compability, habits, diet, training, behaviors, and interactions. These papers were full of strange things; even some studied the cry of Pokemon, while others studied their sleeping habits.
Additionally, several states had policies that supported Pokemon-related research. Jun intended to pursue the academic route of studying Pokemon scientifically, specifically from a genetic standpoint, as many things are still undiscovered about Pokemon. Looking for it for a while, he was surprised. Several pokemon journals, read several papers published by college students, high school students, and even folk trainers.
As long as he chooses some of the content that he could access and could write a complete argumentation process for the content of the dissertation, there would be no doubt about the source of this information. Finally, he settled his eyes on the correlation between Pokemon evolution and abilities.
*TACK*TACK*TACK*
The sound of someone typing on the keyboard could be heard in Jun's room. The sound was very satisfying, making Eevee drowsy, and it finally fell asleep. Beldum had already fallen asleep after eating. After typing for a while, Jun nodded with satisfaction. He would submit the academic paper later after the assessment. But before that, he needed to contact his grandma first.
Of course, the content of the thesis paper must be appropriate. Details about Eevee's evolutionary forms are definitely something he couldn't touch on for now, as it would attract too much attention and bring trouble to himself. Information about this world is still to little especially the criminal organization like Team Rocket. Right now the only connection he had with Team Rocket that he knew of was Silph Co.
Other than that It was not uncommon for high school students to publish papers. But it was very bizzare for 11 years old to publish papers when he just got his/her first Pokemon. Maybe not only Team Rocket, even Alliance itself will pay attention to him later.
Jun yawned and looked at the clock. It was 1 am in the morning. He stretched before finally diving into his bed beside Eevee.
The next morning, in his drowsy state, Jun seemed to hear a strange sound. Following the source of the sound, Jun turned and saw that the little Eevee who was lying on the bed was about to wake up. It opened its eyes in a daze but did not seem to be fully awake. It rolled on the bed, unfolding the wrapped silk scarf.
"Kyu~" Eevee stretched its feet and yawned comfortably. Then it felt like something was missing. It tilted its head and didn't seem to understand what was going on until it woke up completely, and then jumped up and looked around.
Jun was amused by this. After seeing Jun, Eevee ran over happily without saying any words and jumped into Jun's arms.
"How was your sleep?" Jun touched Eevee's forehead.
"Kyuu~" Eevee wagged its tail happily, then gave Jun a cute look until its stomach growled.
"Hahaha," Jun laughed at this. Fortunately, he had already prepared Moomoo milk beforehand. After giving Eevee its milk, Jun looked at Beldum, who was still asleep, and shook his head. It seemed yesterday's training really drained Beldum's energy. He would let it sleep for a while before going back to Vermillion city!
