23. The upside down

"So, just this morning I got the news that one of my friends has been missing since last night" Nancy said. Currently, everyone was sitting in the living room after the introductions were done.

Mike, Lucas, and Dustin were a bit shocked that Robert, Eve, and Kali had supernatural powers. Eve was a bit uncomfortable being stared at by them.

"You are scaring her guys" Robert tapped on Dustin's shoulder and said.

"See, I told you not to stare so much" Dustin slapped Lucas's shoulder and said.

"Me! Weren't you and Mike going crazy just when Robert introduced her" Lucas retorted quickly.

"Don't drag me. I wasn't even looking at her" Mike denied. But soon all three of them began to fight each other. "Hey, you brats!! Shut up. Okay?" May yelled which made them silent.

"Idiot, if you are here to have fun just go home to Mom" Nancy taunted Mike, Dustin covered his mouth who wanted to reply to her with his palms and shook his head.

"Okay, so last Nancy's friend Lisa has disappeared... where?" Robert asked Nancy. "In the northern side of Hawkins, after she left her boyfriend's house" Nancy replied.

"But the police found her car near our college which is opposite to where her house is" Nancy added. Robert nodded his head in understanding.

"Hey Robert what are you trying to say?" Kali could not help but ask. 

"Kali, Nancy told me that Lisa's car was seen passing by a petrol pump that had a CCTV camera, at 12'00 midnight" Robert's words made them more confused.

"Tsk... what I'm trying to say is that there might be more of such Demogorgon out in Hawkins" Robert said while looking at the head of Demogorgon.

Everyone suddenly felt that the room temperature sudden dropped by a few degrees "B-But Robert how can you be so sure?" Mike asked uncertainly.

"Because this Demogorgon was killed by me at 11'00 night. So there has to be another monster like him out there" Robert said seriously while looking at everyone.

Everyone was shocked now. The atmosphere was gloomy but Robert noticed that Eve was more afraid of this monster than others. With should be possible with her powers.

"Hey Mom, did something happen with Eve? She seems... a bit more afraid than you all?" The sudden question startled May but soon remembered something.

She didn't answer his question but got near Eve, got on her knees and asked "Eve... you know where Will is right?" 

Her question now surprised Nancy and others who just entered the house. Mike, Lucas, and Dustin even got up and rushed towards which was stopped by Robert.

"Don't scare her, she has some bad experience. Eve... just tell us what you know about this guy?" With a wave of his hand, a picture of Robert and his friends came into his hands.

With the encouragement of May, Robert and Kali, Eve finally stopped shaking and said "T-This guy is in upside down" 

"Upside down? Where is this upside down?" Lucas couldn't help but ask, to which she shook her head.

"How is this upside down? I mean what is the difference between this place with upside down?" Robert felt that some hidden races are now living on different dimensions from us.

"Both... Hawkins... upside down... same but upside down... more dark and cold. I don't like it" Eve tried to describe upside down.

Everyone couldn't help but think about her words, but couldn't make any sense. Robert suddenly walked to the hidden door on the floor "Come here and help me"

Looking at the hidden chamber everyone became curious, Nancy told a book and read out loud "The Mark of Athena, The Son of Neptune. What is this Robert?"

"These are all the legends or books on mythology that I have collected in my free time," Robert said causally. After coming to this world he knew that this world had supernatural powers so he began to look for any legends which may help him in future.

Everyone decided to look into Robert's book as things like 'upside down' should be from some legend or horror story.

"What are you guys looking for in that silly book of yours?" Seeing Mike, Dustin and Lucas surrounding a black book in Mike's room too, made Nancy a bit annoyed.

"Wait... I think I remember something..." Robert seemed to have suddenly understood something and rushed to Mike and others. Which also made everyone curious.

"Theory of parallel universe... Why are you interested in this kind of book, Robert?" Seeing the book's name May couldn't help but ask.

After all, many people still don't believe things such as a parallel universe exist, and even many don't know about it. But in Robert's previous world, this was an interesting topic.

Thinking about themself as the main character many people liked this topic and wrote novels about it, even movies were made. 

"Because I think that the places which Eve is trying to say aren't even in our world but in another complete time and space" Robert said with certainty.

"Are you sure... I mean maybe Eve saw something else..." Nancy couldn't help but say. Robert didn't blame her as even this concept was too abstract, but he would believe it for someone who has entered another universe.

"Leave it aside for a while, even if Will and Lisa are in another time and space we don't know how to get there. So first let's try to contact Will" Robert said.

He turned to Eve and asked, "Eve, do know any way to contact Will?" Eve nodded her head and pointed at a radio in his room "This will help... but need a bigger one"

Now Robert was surprised that Eve's telepathic powers have such use. Even he who has stronger telepathic powers can't do such a thing 'Maybe her telepathic person in this world is unique'

"So with the help of radiowaves and telepathy, we can contact Will right?" Dustin asked excitedly. Even Nancy was excited as she could save her friend.

"But we still need a bigger and more powerful radio" Kali said, lowering the people's excitement.

"Our club has one!!" Mike said excitedly "Let go now" as he moved Robert to hold him.

"Idiot!! What are you doing? We just came from school. Going back again maybe suspicions" Robert said seriously. 

"B-but Will might be in danger," Mike said stubbornly. Robert also knew this but could not risk everyone being known to government people, as he could not be with everyone simultaneously.

"No means no!! No one is going to school now. Let go tomorrow" Robert said seriously "And don't even think about being sneaky. Only Mr Scott has the keys to the room, so forget that idea"

Seeing the suppressed smile on these three guys Robert guessed their thought and said. Suddenly Mike, Dustin and Lucas's smiles seem to freeze.

"Hahaha" Everyone laughed seeing their funny faces which made the three guys even more embarrassed.
