20. Monster spotted

Behind Hawkins Middle School area.

"So where do we start?" Robert asked in annoyance. Calling to meet at such a time, interrupting his sleep already irritated him but his friends wanting to risk their lives was already beyond his tolerance.

"I don't know, okay? If you had a problem finding your friend, why don't you return home," Mike said unhappily. At dinner he asked his mom to go out to find Will but was blocked, now Robert saying those same words made him resentful.

"HEY!! Hey, chill out man" Dustin got in between them. 

"Yeah, we are here to find Will not to fight among ourselves" Lucas tried to turn their attention.

"THAT MY FUCKING POINT!! We don't know where he disappeared? We don't know if he was kidnapped or taken away? We don't even know where to start looking for him? So tell me how the fuck are we going to find him?" Robert asked loudly.

Hearing his question all three kids got silent, even though they didn't know where to start finding Will. 

"But you must have a way to find him right?" Suddenly Lucas said which made Dustin's and Mike's eyes shine. Whenever they have a problem Robert comes up with a solution so maybe he has the solution to find Will.

Now Robert was speechless, he didn't expect Lucas to find this out. Yes, he knew where to start finding Will. The fight with Mike was to make them go home.

"Yes, I know where to start looking but... I have my conditions" Robert said seriously with a no-nonsense tone. "We agree" Mike and the others didn't even complain and agreed directly.

"So my first rule, be together. No matter what happens at least two people should be with each other. Second, we will just find where he disappeared and if we see where he disappeared we will tell our parents about it" Robert told them.

"Robert we agree with the first rule but the second is a bit too much. Why wait for adults?" Dustin asked, Mike and Lucas also wanted to know about it.

Robert smiled at them and asked "Do you think the Will is a boy, who likes to play such a game? Where he acts like he is kidnapped?" The three guys hooked their heads.

"That means he is hiding from someone. It may be an animal or a human, they have captured him... or maybe even killed him" Robert said in a gloomy voice.

"NO!! Will won't die until we find his body!! I will find him" Mike said in a resolute tone and started to walk in the woods.

"Not so fast Mike, I still have a last rule to tell" Robert pulled him and said.

"What the fuck, Robert? How many rules do you have?" Mike yelled at him, Dustin and Lucas also supported Mike.

"My last rule is that unless you find something in the forest, you will not yell. Yelling will not only help us but may give our location to the people who capture Will... or maybe the police will find us.

And then they will report what happened today to our parents. You don't want your parents to know what you are doing, right?" Robert said this seriously but inside his heart, he was laughing.

After all, the child may not fear any monster but they have their fear of their parents. And just as he predicted, all three guys got quiet from the fear of their parents and nodded their heads.

"We would be fucked up if they found out about this," Dustin said seriously.

"Yeah man," Both Lucas and Mike agreed to his words. After taking a deep breath Lucas asked "So Robert where do we start looking?"

"The last time Will was seen was at Mike's house, so if anything has happened to him it has to be between Mike's and Will's house. Let's go down the road from where Will goes home every day" Robert told them.

"Okay let's go" All agreed and all of us got on our bicycles and began to look for Will.

...

Half an hour later.

"No clue of Will" Dustin held his head in his hands and said in a depressed mood. Currently, all four of them were sitting at the edge of the road after their 'Investigation'.

Mike, Lucas and Dustin were already in a bad mood with all the things that Robert said. 'Maybe he got kidnapped which is still better than being killed...' These were their thoughts in their head.

"Come on now... you guys called me and now you are losing hope. Be positive. Okay, let's go home for now and let's continue our search tomorrow" Robert said and got up.

The three guys also decided to go home first. Lucas suddenly looked in a direction and noticed something "Guys I think someone is there" He pointed out.

"Let go and see what it is" Mike said while heading in that direction. Robert and others also followed him, and soon they reached a big rock.

*Eeeaaa* *gguuu* *gguuu* *eaaahh**

Robert quickly stopped and asked in a low voice "Did you hear that?" He also moved his powers to see the situation in from of the rock. Mike, Dustin and Lucas nodded their head.

"Let's see what is there from the top of the rock" He whispered and said. Slowly all four guys claimed the rock and saw an injured deer whose leg was bleeding near a tree.

All of them looked around to find the predator but didn't find anything. Robert seems to have noticed something because he uses his powers to search.

He looked at the tree near the deer and saw a mass of dark matter on it, but the weird thing was that there seemed to be an entirely different space inside this dark matter.

'This dark matter seems to work as a portal' Robert thought, suddenly his expression changed. Dustin wanted to help the deer but Robert suddenly stopped him and pointed at the tree.

The three guys didn't understand what he wanted to say but Robert motioned them to shut up. Soon they saw something moving on the tree as some dark matter began to expand as a figure walked out of it.

The figure walked on his four limbs first but soon stood on his two legs. As the moonlight fell on this figure, Mike and others were able to see his complete face.

It was a humanoid monster with a height of 2 metres, all his skin was covered in mucus or some sticky substance. It had long, sharp fingers on its front limb.

This scared the three guys who saw this monster for the first time, but soon saw a scene which even made Robert shocked. The monster opened his oval head like a flower and attacked the deer's neck.

*EEAAHHH* *EEHHH* *EEERRRR*

The deer screamed in pain and fear but soon lost his light in his eyes falling limb in the monster's mouth. Mike, Dustin and Lucas were paralyzed in fear as they saw a life being killed in front of them.

Although it wasn't a human life, the struggling deer smashed a huge hammer on their 12-year-old heart which hasn't seen even a chicken killed in front of them.
