Chapter 2-Slow growth

3 years have gone by very quickly and at the same time very slowly.

I recently awakened the memories of my previous life or rather just common sense of my previous world. I don't remember my past family or friends only that I must've died young, like in my teenage years cause I remember being obsessed with anime, manga, comics and the like while not remembering anything about work even though I remember going to school and also college.

It was only when I got my memories did I realize that I have somehow been adopted by one of the best thieves in DC comics and for some reason she didn't give me away.

We are now quite close and I still almost couldn't stop fanboying when I saw her leave out the window one night.

Selina Kyle is a very contradictory woman. From what i can tell she truly despises other criminals in the city no matter what kind of crime they do yet loves to steal precious items and objects of value. She relishes the in thrill of the heist.

By the way I am in the most affluent city in the country yet the city with the highest rate of crime anywhere in the world. I am in Gotham city.

The first name given to me was 'Nicki Kyle' by Selina because she thought I was a girl but when she put me in the new cradle she bought and removed my blanket she was surprised to find I am boy, which luckily did not let her throw me out.

It was also suprising that i remembered everything that happened so far since I woke up in that dark alley. Even though I had eidetic memory and was kinda a genius in my last life i still couldn't properly remember my first few years after being born in my previous life.

Also I said I was a genius in my last life but now it is like my intelligence has been enhanced then put on steroids and I can very quickly absorb, process and store information.

Selena has always given me everything that I could need and everything that I want in this new life of mine and I really appreciated everything she has done for me.

I mean she had no reason to pick me up in this indifferent city where a child could be sold on the street and people would just ignore it and quickly walk away not daring to get involved.

She's has given me clothing, food, shelter and very high levels of education. Like seriously when she found out I was a genius in any book she gave me she started to get more at my request. And now at 4 years old (mentally around 15 I guess) I am at thus universe's University level which in my opinion is still pretty high. I say I am mentally 15 because I don't remember the age I died or even how I died but I am pretty sure I finished college in my teens as I remember everyone being bigger than me and though I don't remember my dad properly I am very sure he was very tall so I was definitely not short and just young. Now though I said I am mentally 15 my mind also seems to have regressed because of my young brain. So I will not consider just adding to my mental age but rather believe myself to be catching up to my previous age so until I am 15 I will consider myself mentally 15.

Selina was bery surprised by my genius and was quite happy when I showed off my achievements.

My powers have yet to show up though ever since I awakened my memories I get small tingles in my body from time to time.

Selina is now 22 years old and goes out to steal something valuable atleast 3 to 4 times in a year though since a few months ago she got entangled with the newly debuted Batman.

Batman officially(as in it was confirmed he existed) debuted in Gotham city last year and is a subject of much controversy. He probably truly debuted when I came to this world or something.

Since she found him she has been going out more frequently, probably their game of chasing and flirting.

I have enjoyed the past few years as they were quite worry free for me even in this dangerous city.
