SONIC'S POV

It was a nice and quiet evening. Shadow, Sonica and I were having chillidogs peacefully-

"Sonica!? Come back here!" I shouted while chasing her after she ran away with my chillidogs!

I was wrong. No peace here..

"Catch me if you can~" She chuckled while dashing here and there, leaving yellowish-golden blur behind while munching on the chillidog with ease, "Mm, yummy~"

𝑌𝑒𝑠, 𝑑𝑒𝑎𝑟 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑑𝑒𝑟𝑠.. 𝑆ℎ𝑒 𝑖𝑠 𝑇ℎ𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑟. 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑒𝑛𝑒𝑟𝑔𝑒𝑡𝑖𝑐 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑐𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑓𝑟𝑒𝑒 𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑜𝑓 𝑆𝑜𝑛𝑖𝑐𝑎... 𝑤ℎ𝑜 𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑒𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑐𝑎𝑢𝑠𝑒 𝑡𝑟𝑜𝑢𝑏𝑙𝑒. 𝐴 𝐿𝑂𝑇.

"I hope you two won't start a war for the chillidog." said Shadow with a sigh and looked at me, "We need to do something quick.."

"Shadow!" Sonica quickly hugged him while chuckling.

"Come on, Sonic~ This is the last chillidog~" She cooed while chuckling and stood beside me, "Aw, can't catch me? Should I take the title of the fastest hedgehog alive?"

My eyes widened upon hearing that.

My title!

My name!

"No way!" I shouted and grabbed her arm, "Don't make me discipline you myself, Sonica!"

She paused for a second and looked down before quickly pinching my cheeks, "Ha! Too late!" She chuckled as she ran outside.

I chuckled slightly while rubbing my cheeks and sat down on the couch, "She's really a cheerful version.."

"More like mischief.." Shadow sighed while rolling her eyes, gesturng towards the walls that were all doodled and scribbled.

"..Yeah." I rubbed the back of my neck and sighed, "What can we do to bring our original Sonica back..?"

"I think w-"

"Sonic!" Sonica quickly dashing near me, "Let's play volleyball~"

"Sonica, wait. We shouldn't go outside right now.. Your emotions are unstable." I said while placing my hands on her shoulders.

"It will be alright! Let's go!" She said while dragging my arm but I stopped her immediately, "STOP MESSING AROUND WITH YOUR POWERS, SONICA! IT'S GETTING ANNOYING!"

𝐼𝑡 𝑤𝑎𝑠𝑛'𝑡 𝑎𝑛𝑛𝑜𝑦𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑎𝑡 𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑏𝑢𝑡 𝑠𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑒𝑠 𝑠𝑐𝑜𝑙𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑖𝑠 𝑛𝑒𝑐𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑎𝑟-

"..sorry.." She slowly let go of my arm and her eyes changed colour from yellow to light indigo. Then she looked down, "I will stop.."

𝑌𝑂𝑈 𝑀𝐸𝑆𝑆𝐸𝐷 𝑈𝑃 𝐴𝐺𝐴𝐼𝑁, 𝑆𝑂𝑁𝐼𝐶!

"Wait, I.. didn't mean it, Sonica.. I am sorry.." I said with slightly wide eyes while trying to reach for her hand, "You are not ann-"

"No.. I am sorry.. It's all my fault.." She kept looking down and curled up quietly into a ball.

"Another version?" asked Shadow with a concerned sigh while walking towards us.

I lowered my gaze before kneeling down beside her, "Sonica.. It's not your fault.."

"It is.." She started to sniffle, "I made you angry.. I.. I made Scourge hate me.. K-Key turned into ahses... And Professor and Eva.. They.. they.." Tears started streaming down her cheeks and I instantly pulled her in my arms, stroking her quills gently, "Ssh... Don't say that.. It's not your fault.. It's not.."

She sniffles again and tried to wipe her eyes, "It is.."

"It's not your fault.." I whispered softly while kissing her forehead and she closed her eyes while sniffling, "I am sorry.."

"It's okay, Sonica.. We are here for you..." Shadow whispered while rubbing her head softly but her eyes started watering more.

I took a breath while holding her close. "What.. is.. the name of this version of Sonica?" I asked while rocking her gently in my arms.

She kept her gaze low, sniffling, "They call me Blue.. C-Chaos said Blue colour means sadness.."

5. 𝐵𝑙𝑢𝑒 (𝑆𝑎𝑑 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑉𝑢𝑙𝑛𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑒)

"Chaos is aggressive and doesn't seem to care much.." I sighed and kissed the top of her head.

"Yeah, just like her name.." added Shadow and looked at the chaos emerald which was still black with a sigh.

"Everything will be alright.." I whispered while rubbing her back soothingly while she curled up but when she saw the black chaos emerald, she buried her face against my chest while sobbing and we tried to soothe her.

"Poor Joy must be scared in that darkness.. Sonic.." She sniffled while crying like a child, "Please break the emerald and free Joy.."

𝑊𝑎𝑖𝑡-

"WHY DIDN'T WE THINK OF THAT BEFORE?!" I and Shadow shouted at the same time and we both looked at the black emerald which was in Shadow's hand.

I gently wiped the tear stains from Sonica's soft cheeks and kissed her forehead, "Thank you, my sweet little hedgie.."

"Thank you..?" Sonica sniffled while rubbing her eyes, "For what..?"

"For trying to keep others safe and happy, Sonica.." Shadow whispered and stared at the emerald. Then he looked at me and I nodded my head as a 'GO'.

Then I looked back at Sonica and gently pulled her back in my arms, "You are amazing, okay? Don't ever doubt yourself nor blame yourself for everything.."

"For the first time in life, I agree with him. Now please move aside." said Shadow in order to crush the emerald safely.

Sonica's sad eyes never left the emerald, "Joy.."

"Hm.." Shadow stepped back and used one of his special moves; chaos spear.

We had to close our eyes due to the bright flash that had occurred.

When I opened my eyes, the emerald break into pieces which fell on the floor and then very colourful, bright rays came out from them that went straight to Sonica's forehead on the lightning bolt which started changing colours from red to blue, purple, pink, yellow-golden, orange and white.

Then a huge, bright flash occured, making anyone's eyes go blind if opened.

"Sonica!" I and Shadow shouted before our eyes closed tight due to the blinding light.

The next second, the overpowering brightness was gone.. and upon opening my eyes, I saw Sonica..curled up in a ball.. like when I used to use my spin attack..

"Sonica?" I immediately picked her up while my heart was racing, "Sonica.. Please open up.."

"Sonic..the emerald.." Shadow pointed at the broken pieces which were fading away into ashes but WHO CARES?!

"What is going on?! Sonica, please open up.." I pleaded while holding her, my eyes concerned. "Sonica.." I whispered while holding her a little tighter, "please.."

𝐵𝑢𝑡 𝑛𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 ℎ𝑎𝑝𝑝𝑒𝑛𝑒𝑑...

"Maybe we should wait till 24 hours." whispered Shadow while taking the curled up Sonica ball into his arms...

Those words have me more hope..

𝑁𝑜 𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑤ℎ𝑎𝑡.. 𝑰 𝑎𝑚 𝑎𝑙𝑤𝑎𝑦𝑠 ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑦𝑜𝑢..

𝗡𝗢𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗟 𝗣𝗢𝗩

"24 hours.." Sonic whispered in concern with a sigh.

Then all of a sudden, the ground started to shake for approximately near 57 seconds and the next second, he got a call from Amy.

"Sonic! Are you three okay?!" shouted Amy through the communicator.

Sonic and Shadow who were sitting on the couch stood up immediately after the earthquake and replied, "Yes-but what was that?! An earthquake?!"

"We don't know, Soni-"

"Even Tails's device is unable to track the cause or location of source!" shouted Sticks while cutting off Amy.

Any and Sticks were at Tails's lab while Knuckles was busy with his own.

Sonic glanced at the curled up Sonica and rubbed his eyes while taking a very deep sigh.

"Sonic! Why isn't Sonica saying anything?! Where is she?! Where is Silver?!" Amy shouted once more, concern evident in her voice.

Sonic and Shadow looked at eachother before looking at the curled up Sonica. Then Sonic replied, "She's resting, Amy.."

"Sonic, we-"

"We will call you back later, Amy." He immediately cut the call and gripped his quills in frustration, "GOD, WHAT IS HAPPENING?!"

Just then some golden lights caught their eyes and they turned to see a portal opening up.

"SONIC! SONIC! SHADOW!" Silver screamed while jumping out of the portal in a hurry, his eyes wide. "WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING! QUICK!"

"I KNOW! BUT WHAT CAN WE DO?!" Sonic shouted in frustration and worry, "SONICA IS NOT OPENING UP AT ALL!"

"THEN GIVE HER SOME TIME! WE NEED TO STAY CALM FIRST!" shouted back Silver while shaking Sonic by his shoulders.

Both of them went silent for a while until Shadow spoke, "You are from the future, tell us what is happening." His gaze felt like it was piercing Silver's eyes.

"I.. I don't clearly kno-"

"JUST SPIT IT OUT AT TIMES LIKE THESE!"

"I can't, okay?! I wish I could but if I break the laws, I will be banned from using my time travel power!"

"WHO CARES ABOUT LAWS HERE?!"

Sonic and Silver kept crashing words at eachother. That's when Shadow noticed Sonica's ears twitch and he shushed the both, "Shut up, you two. Sonica is opening up.."

Sonic's eyes beamed with joy and relief and he quickly kneeled down beside Sonica who was still curled up, "Sonica..?"

Silver looked at the time hurriedly then at Sonica.

While the wall clock's ticking was the only thing audible in the silent room, Sonica's ears twitched once more and she finally started to uncurl.

"SONICA!" The three were extremely relieved and Sonic quickly picked her up in his arms.

As Sonica fully uncurled, her eyes started to flutter open and she whispered, "Key.."

Sonic, Shadow and Silver sighed in relief and Sonic kissed her forehead, her eyes were back to the original colour..

"Sonica, are you okay?"

She looked at Sonic and then at her hands, "I feel..strange.."

They both frowned and looked at eachother before looking back at her. "You need some rest, Sonica.."

She sighed and rubbed her face, "Sonic, put me down, please."

He nodded his head and gently landed her down on her feet, "Please be careful..."

She kept looking at her hands and fur, "This is..strange.."

"Sonica, listen to me. You have to stay calm." said Silver while clenching his fists. "No matter what."

Before Sonica could even respond or question, the ground started to shake again, this time more intensely.

"Sonic, Shadow, tell me what exactly happened." said Sonica while facing them.

Shadow sighed, "Your emotions split into many versions of you. Like Lovey for love, Thunder for energetic or carefree, Chaos for anger and so on. And then we-"

"And then we destroyed the chaos emerald that we had used earlier to trap the dark aura.." Sonic stated while holding her hands. "And you were curled up for a while.."

Sonica stayed silent, her eyes freezing for a second before she spoke, "..did the dark aura..escape from the emerald too..?"

Shadow and Sonic looked at eachother before replying, "The emerald's broken pieces faded away inti ashes.."

Sonica eyes widened and she  looked at her hands again. "No.. No way.."

"Sonica, what's wrong..?"

"It.. It has escaped.." Sonica clenched her fists, letting out a shaky breath.

"What will happen though, Sonica?" Sonic asked while holding her hand, looking worried. "..you are okay now, no?"

"Guys.."

"N-no, I.. I am not sure. I..I feel strangely lighter. This is not good.."

"Sonica, we don't know what will happen.. please breath in, slowly."

"Guys.." Silver clenched his fists more and put his hands over his face.

"Sonic, I can't just do nothing! It feels empty!"

"GUYS! LISTEN! TO ME!" Silver gripped his quills in frustration, his fists where shaking before he finally shouted, "VOID HAS ESCAPED FROM HER! AND THE OTHER MONSTERS ARE AWAKE! IT IS COMING TO KILL SONICA AND WHOEVER GETS IN THE WAY! 𝗪𝗘 𝗛𝗔𝗩𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗗𝗢 𝗦𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗢𝗥 𝗘𝗟𝗦𝗘 𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗬𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗪𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗕𝗘 𝗗𝗘𝗔𝗗!"
