CHAPTER II

Good afternoon, Rachael", Eric says with a radiant smile exposing a clean set of teeth. Eric is 5'10ft tall and chubby. He is dark in complexion and has a black short haircut.

"The manager said I should give this to you" Eric hands a file to her.

She opens it,  she realizes it's a copy of her C.V. which she submitted when she first came for the job.

The word 'FIRED' Is stamped on her C.V. with a termination letter stapled with it, "What is this? " she is shocked and angry, "What? " she shows Eric, he gasps.

"Whoa," the surprise appears on his face,   "Fired? This cannot be a coincident".

"Just about the same time I got offered another job."

She leaves her post angrily and walks away, "Rachael, where are you going?" Eric asks, "To find out why I am being fired," she says as she storms off in anger.

She reaches the personnel department where a secretary sits in front of the personnel office.

"I want to see them," Rachael says as she walks towards the door but the secretary stops her.

"I am sorry Rachael, but I was told to not let you in. I don't want to lose my job".

"But I get to lose mine" Rachael is furious, she turns around and walks out wearing her anger on her face like make up.

"You will be compensated as per your contract," the secretary says as Rachael bounces out.

An hour later,  Rachael is at Clouds, she goes into the club with furrowed brows and a stiff jaw.

There are a few people around, cleaning and arranging the place.

She catches Samuel behind a counter pouring himself a glass of wine, "Hey" she calls out as she walks toward him.

"Did you get me fired so I could work here?", she asks with anger behind her voice.

Samuel stares at her, "Answer me" she demands.

"Who do you think you are talking to? " he says, his face displaying no emotion as he takes a sip of his wine.

Rachael is irritated by his reaction, "If you don't have anything else to say, you may get out before I change my mind".

"I can't believe this. You are an ass" Rachael is filled with rage.

He offered her a job just the previous day and now he is acting like she is a pest.

Samuel walks in, he sees Rachael at one of the counters in the club with him, the mood-swinging brother of his.

He can hear Rachael's heart pounding and he can feel her anger.

He giggles as he reaches Rachael who is still looking at his brother.

Rachael loses her footing as Samuel taps her shoulder but he catches her before she can fall.

She turns and stares at him then return her eyes to his brother.

She is astonished, "What the hell is going on here?" she asks,  "I see you've met my brother and assistant, Gabriel".

Gabriel is Samuel's twin, they look the same with the only difference being the expression each of them portrayed.

Samuel has a gentleman look and a naughty smile while Gabriel is the rude one with a rugged aura about him.

"Is she yours? " Gabriel asks his brother and  Samuel nods in acceptance.

"No wonder she doesn't have manners" "Come on now brother, she's cute", Samuel says.

"Excuse me, I'm standing right here" Rachael tries to make her presence known.

"Sorry, Miss McQueen. I take it that you accept my offer, seeing as you are here," Samuel says.

"No. Did you get me fired so I can work here?" Rachael asks, "That would make me desperate but I think it's just you being narcissistic".

"McQueen? " Gabriel asks with a leap of surprise, "Yes. Is there a problem?" Rachael asks him, "No. Samuel let's talk".

"Excuse us, Miss McQueen," Samuel says as Gabriel pulls him up to the upper floor of the club.

Gabriel sips his glass of wine in his hand as he reaches the next floor,  "What is she doing here? " Gabriel asks.

"I'm giving her a job my dear brother" "Are you crazy? That's…" "Frank's daughter, I know. Believe me, I wasn't happy about it when I found out myself"

"Then why is she here? " "I made a promise brother, I'm not going to break it.

What happened in the past is in the past. Besides John says she has it. Nightmare"

"No way, Samuel that is exactly why Frank was killed" "And that's exactly what can save us for good".

"Frank gave it to her? " "I don't know, but being his daughter she should know a bit" "The man who tried to play the son of the devil," Gabriel says with a face of regret as he remembers a sin only known between brothers.

Samuel grabs the glass of wine from Gabriel and drinks it. He returns the glass to Gabriel's hand "Your boy, John, probably vamped her boss to fire her.

Don't worry, we can handle this" Samuel says as he turns to leave.

He walks down the stairs ignoring Gabriel's glare.

"Sorry to have kept you waiting, miss McQueen" Samuel walks to Rachael, "So do you accept my offer?" "I may"

"Look Miss McQueen, I think you getting fired is fate"

"Fate took my job?"

"Yes. Fate has made you unemployed with nothing but the clothes on your back but I can change that".

Nothing but the clothes on my back? I'm unemployed, not broke.

"So, what do you say? ", his smile makes his pink lips look tempting as he stares into Rachael's brown eyes.

Rachael giggles forgetting the anger that walked in with her.

"What is it? " Samuel asks.

"It's just…", she finds herself staring into his glassy eyes and she soon notices how close she is to Samuel, "…nothing".

"If you keep coming this close to me, something is bound to happen, Miss McQueen" he says and smirks.

Rachael steps back, "So?" Samuel asks, "You will double my salary?" she asks,  "Of course" "Triple it" "Don't push your luck sweet thing".

 Rachael smiles.

Samuel glances at his wristwatch, "You start Monday Miss McQueen, be punctual. You may even gain a bonus.

See you Monday Miss McQueen. I believe you know your way out".

Rachael returns to her apartment, exhausted but excited. She finds herself on the phone chatting and making calls to the important people in her love.

"Yes, mom. I now work at a club. It's called Clouds. Alright, love you" Rachael ends a call with her mother.

She lies down on her bed with a smile,  she pictures herself back at the club staring into Samuel's eyes.

"I don't even know him yet and I'm already fantasizing about him," she thinks.

Don't forget Rachael you still have to find out if he was the one last night and the night of the accident.

On the other hand, he is a twin so it could be his brother, Gabriel.

She sighs as she shut her eyes close, "Can't wait to get started," she mumbles.

What's Monday going to be like, Rachael?
