Tylem continued to dodge Finlay's blows, taking in every little detail.
Time to time, he would throw in his own kicks and punches, but he would always stop toward the end.
Finlay was giving it everything he had, utilizing every move up his arsenal.
"Hm..." Helios noticed that Tylem was dragging out the fight. The boy's talent was scary—frightening even.
Later, after the two boys exchanged even more moves, Helios finally called out with a smile, "That's enough, boys."
The high-intensity fight had lasted for almost twenty minutes. It was absurd.
"You two should rest up." Helios noticed Finlay's sweat and red neck. "It should be getting tiring out there."
Finlay did not continue after this; instead, he gave Tylem a heartfelt bow. "It was a great learning experience."
Some students would have been left embarrassed and unwilling to give up after such a massive defeat, but Finlay was different. Rather, he was appreciating Tylem's top-notch skills, which enabled him to focus on improving himself during the fight.
During this fight, Finlay had the freedom to try out everything since Tylem was able to evade his attacks at just the right angle, even professional instructors were unable to push him to the limits like this.
In fact, he had even come up with some new tricks, making slight beneficial amendments to his fighting technique and stance.
"Thank you." Tylem was thankful that Finlay had continued to put up with him, even following his intense pace.
"Finlay, I've learned a lot thanks to you." Tylem stated, his low voice genuine.
It wasn't a lie at all. Tylem had grown a lot during this long spar, and he was still doing his best to learn all the moves that Finlay had used on him. Fighting with this boy, it was a hundred times more beneficial than practicing on a punching bag or on the mat alone.
"That's great!" Finlay gave a big thumbs up. "Tylem, we should definitely spar more in the future!"
Keeping quiet, Helios' lips were trembling. The youth was both super talented and humble. This was the top talent of a generation.
Even abroad, Helios had a fantastic reputation, his skills in Kyokushin were renowned throughout the martial arts circle.
"But... am I capable enough to even teach such a genius?" Helios loved talents and was obsessed with them, but Tylem was more like a monster than a genius. There was so much potential hiding in that little body.
Helios felt like he would be doing the world an injustice if he did not get the very best master for him.
Finally, seeing that there was some room to speak, the over ten senior students who had been watching the fight began shamelessly asking Tylem for a spar and pointers. Nearby, a bunch of the students also crowded Finlay for tips.
Tylem did not deny them as he began exchanging pointers with the boys. Soon after, Kaden also joined in, eager to begin his training in Kyokushin Karate as well. The scene was too heart-moving for youths like him to solely remain as a simple spectator.
Along the way, Helios was giving constructive tips to all the students while analyzing them closely.
Very quickly, over an hour had passed, and it was about time for the students to go home.
Saying goodbye to Helios and the friendly students he had sparred with, Tylem and Kaden stepped out of the training center with a content expression.
"Bro, that was fun." Kaden had a smug smile. "I'd say I'm about as strong as those legendary martial artists now."
"Sure, sure." Tylem returned. "Keep dreaming, Kaden."
"So mean!" Rolling his eyes, Kaden pictured his ideal future, "A man can dream, can't he?"
"..." Nothing but the sound of the gentle breeze could be heard.
"Yeah, you're right." Tylem closed his eyes, the recent reincarnation and cultivation clear in his mind. "I'm sorry for saying that."
"Anything can happen." Tylem's smile was bright and pure.
"Wow, why are you apologizing, bro." Kaden replied. "You don't have to take everything that seriously—not around your friends anyway!"
Nodding, Tylem was feeling at peace, "It's great that I became friends with you, Kaden."
"You've made my life at school very fun." Tylem told his honest thoughts. "Thank you for everything so far."
"..." For some reason, Kaden had the urge to cry. "Please, don't say that. I'm definitely the most happy to have become friends with you."
The two stood there in silence for a while before Kaden spoke up first.
"Mm, enough of that though." Kaden's hand brushed his face, feeling touched. "I'm afraid that my parents will be picking me up soon."
"You should get going then." Tylem checked the time. "I'll see you tomorrow."
"Definitely." Wanting to give Tylem a big bro hug, Kaden pushed that urge back.
In his mind, Tylem didn't seem like the type of boy who enjoyed hugs.
Mature and confident, but most importantly Tylem was a loyal person, that was Kaden's impression anyway.
"Until next time~" Waving, Kaden shouted from the distance.
Tylem stood with a smile, watching Kaden depart.
Walking in the direction of Ivla's badminton club, Tylem's right pocket vibrated.
"How was everything?" Emily giggled in her car. "Take your time. I'll be waiting in the parking lot soon."
"It was fun." Tylem's voice was cheerful. "I picked up some new techniques."
"Oh, really!" Praising, Emily laughed, "Honey is so amazing. You definitely have to show me those moves back home!"
"I will." Tylem replied, his tone soft.
The two continued chatting for a couple minutes, and Tylem was now standing outside the badminton club.
Why had he come here?
Simple. Lynne was here.
"Darling, I'll be hanging up now." Emily cooed. "Do keep Lynne safe for me."
"That doesn't even need to be said." Tylem smiled.
"I know, hehe." Emily's adoring smile looked so precious. "Protecting your little sister, I just wanted to repeat how capable my son is."
Soon, Tylem's phone clicked as the call ended.
"Pop." The constant sound of shuttlecocks being hit around entered his ears.
Tylem stood near the club's door, watching Lynne play a game against the instructor. In the club, there were many other students present, but he paid them no heed at all. Regardless, his presence did not go unnoticed.
"Hey, look!" In the middle of a 2v2 game, a cute girl shoved her friend, whispering, "It's that hottie Tylem again!"
"Yeah... sadly he only watches Lynne though." The ponytailed friend sighed. "I wonder what makes her so special.'
"I don't know what he sees in her either. No one even likes her." The cute girl mumbled. "Is it just because of her above-average looks?"
"Brother?" In the corner of her eye, Lynne noticed Tylem while she was returning the shuttlecock.
This time, however, Lynne did not attempt to chase him away. Seemingly, she now knew that her previous efforts were pointless: there was no chance Tylem would act like a stranger at school with her anymore.
Not after Tylem had found out about her crisis.
Furthermore, their bond had strengthened after the talk a week ago. Sometimes, fights could make a relationship stronger. However, it required both sides to fully accept their mistakes, moving on from the sad times.
But, at the same time, fights could also destroy a relationship. It was a double-edged sword.
Enjoy~ I decided to end this chapter here. There is a special long chapter tomorrow : ) I didn’t wish to leave you guys on a cliffhanger at that stage.
