A Nanny For Nelson

Max's POV:

" You're getting discharged today" I told her. She was sitting up on the bed.

I need to shop for her. The clothes she's wearing doesn't suit her at all.

" Ok, thanks for treating me". She said curtly.

She doesn't seem to want to talk to me for long. It's funny though. Given how I want to keep hearing her voice.

" You'll be coming home with me".

" Why?".

" You can't go back into the streets, can you?".

" Not your business ".

" I have a job for you ". I said hoping that would get to her.

" What job?". She asked, seemingly uninterested.

" Nelson likes you and wants you to be his nanny ". I said and quickly added. " 100,000 XOF per month ".

She was silent for a while like she was thinking about it. Then she answered,

" Fine, I'll be your son's nanny". She scoffed.

I smiled. I offered her my hand to help her down from the bed but she snubbed me.

She came down from the bed and walked out. I sighed,' she's just so difficult '.

I met her in the compound and went to my car. She walked closer and waited for me to open the door.

The drive was short and silent.

Immediately we entered, Nelson ran to hug me after which one he went to hu

' she's such a weirdo. You're gonna think she will be charged for the amount of words she uses each time she speaks '.

"Let me show you to your room". She nodded.

I led her upstairs and gave her the room adjacent the master bedroom.

" We have a place to go. No questions, just come with me ". I didn't expect her to follow me without questions but she did anyway.

" Nelson, come on, let's go ".

We all went back into the car. I drove to one of the most popular boutique around. .

" You can pick whatever you want,bills on me ".

She was silent for so long that I thought she'd reject my offer but then she muttered.

" Thank you ".

She started shopping. I and Nelson were also picking out some dresses for her.

I could see her looking at the price tag. She clearly don't want to take something expensive.

" Come on, you can take anything you want. Don't mind the price. ". She nodded at me and started doing just that.

I saw a particular dress that I thought is gonna fit her so I asked her to try it on.

She took it from me and head towards the dressing room. She came out minutes later looking ' I really don't know how to describe the way she looked. Her look was out of this world I couldn't help staring at her. I was practically undressing her with my eyes, so hot and sexy'.

My middle stirred at that thought.' Gosh, this is embarrassing'. I tore my eyes off her,red with embarrassment.

She walked to where I was. It took all my willpower not to stare pervertly at her again. I don't want her to catch me staring.

" Is it ok?".

" Y-yeah". I replied and added " I'll like to use the restroom for a while. Just continue shopping and mind Nelson.

" Ok, sure "

Hell, that was close. I adjusted my trousers then stayed for a while to cool my mind before leaving the restroom.

We shopped some more before leaving. While in the car, I realized it's lunch time so I decided to branch a restaurant so we could take lunch. I don't wanna eat in a restaurant so I'll just order take away.

" What will you like for lunch?". I asked her.

"pasta and onion sauce".

" And you, Nelson. What will you eat?". I said softly to him.

" Fried eggs and fried potatoes "

I smiled. I'm so proud of my son.

I went to take our orders and drove us home.

" I will like to freshen up before lunch and I think you should start work now. He's gonna make a mess of the food". I said chuckling.

She scoffed. It's so funny so I laughed more. She walked away.

" Cute" I muttered under my breath. I went upstairs to take a cold shower, I need it to make it through today.

Just after my bath, I got a call from my mom.

" Hi Mom"

" My son, I have missed you"

" I've been busy"

" Too busy to come see your old mother"

" No Mom. You understand all this work issue"

"Anyway, I have a something be important to discuss with you "

" Ok, I'm listening "

No, not on phone. You have to come over"

" Ok Mom. I'll try to come by today"

" Ok son, bye"

" Bye". I said and cut the call.

' what does she want to say that she can't say on phone?'

Well, I'll go there after lunch.

I dressed up, went downstairs and ate little of my food.

" I have somewhere to be. I'll be leaving Nelson with you. So, make sure to take care of him well and... here, I got this during the shopping ". I said handing her the phone I got.

" I get you don't have phone. Sim is there and my contact is there. Just give me a call in case of emergency ". I added.

" Ok, thanks. Erm... what time do your w-wife come home ". She said slowly.

I chuckled.

" I don't have a wife " I said and dashed out.

Lexi's POV:

" What! You don't have a wife?". I said but he ran out already.

'Gosh, he is so annoying. How manage. He has a son but no wife. Well, I can check the news now that I have a phone. Everything will surely be there and will probably be the most popular news. It shouldn't be difficult to finding what I want'.

'I wonder why he said Nelson will make a mess of his food. He has been a good boy and just took the food from me without much Ado. I like the boy. Infact, I think I have a soft spot for him already'. I smiled at that thought.

We have finished our lunch and we are in the sitting room,, throwing pillows at each other.

" Xandra". He said cutely.

" Yes cutie" I said smiling.

" I want to build a house"

Now that's funny.

" Really" I asked.

" Yes, let's go to the garden. I'll build a house there".

" Ohh, yeah let's go "

And that was how we ended up playing all day. It was fun.

Max's POV:

" Welcome son, I didn't know you'll come this early ".

" Good afternoon ".

" Afternoon. Wait, where's Nelson?". She asked looking around.

" I didn't bring him. He's with his nanny ". I unconsciously smiled at the thought of Xandra.

" You didn't tell me you got a new nanny "

" Yeah, she just resumed today. Anyways, you wanted to see me "

" Sit,at least ".

I sat,then she began.

" Do you remember Mirabelle?". She asked.

' Oh, Mirabelle. She was the girl my mom engaged me with before she travelled. It's been 10 years since then. Why did she suddenly bring her up now '.

" Oh,yes. I remember. What about her?".

" She'll be coming home next week and you are not married yet so I want you to continue from where you stopped".

" What! What are you saying Mom. How sure are you that's she doesn't have a man?". I asked.

" No, she hasn't. Moreso, Nelson needs a mother figure. Someone to take care of him like a mother will".

" He has a Nanny and he's not complaining "

" A Nanny is different from a Mom, Maxwell. Please just listen to me. I want to see my son's wife. And Mirabelle is a good girl ".

" Mom, you can't be so sure, people change ".

" You haven't seen her so you can't tell. Just do this for me, please ".

I sighed.

" I'll think about it Mom. I'll get going now ".

" Go greet your father ".

" I don't want to*.

" You should"

" Fine, I will".

I went to Rowan's library. That's where he always stays.

" Rowan". I called to him.

" Son,are you here because you miss me?". He said with mouthful of dessert.

" You know I'll never come here of my own accord. Mother said I should ". I said in a displeased tone.

" I know, I know. How's my grandson, you didn't bring him to greet me?".

" He's with his nanny. I'll get going".

" Stay safe". I didn't reply that.

'I do love him but I'll never tell him that. He likes it when he has control over his sons' lives. But I won't let him control my life or dictate for me. That's why we never get along'.

I got home to meet an empty house. I went to Nelson's room but he wasn' t there. I checked Xandra' s room but they ain't there either. I started to panic. Then I thought of calling her and I did but her phone was ringing upstairs in her room.

' where can they be? Could something have happened to them? Oh, no. I've to report to the police '. I was about to make the call when... Boom, they entered.

They were both dirty like they went to roll in the mud.

" What the hell happened, where were you?". I asked.

" I'm sorry we made you worry. We were in the garden". She said softly.

That calmed me down.

" It's okay, you don't have to feel guilty. Just make sure to take your phone with you next time,ok?".

" Ok, I'll make sure to do that".

" By the way, were you two rolling in the mud there?".

I guess that was when she remembered she's dirty and she looked down looking for what is not lost. I could tell she's embarrassed.

Then Nelson spoke up holding her hand.

" Dad,we want to build a house so we were digging the foundation". I broke into laughter.

" Really, you want to build a house and you were digging the foundation?". I said facing Xandra.

She blushed lightly and didn't talk.

' yes Dad. We will build a house and I, Xandra and Dad will stay there ". Nelson replied me instead, smiling happily.

" Ok, can I go see it?".

" Yes"

Xandra took him upstairs. Perhaps to shower. I got to the garden.

' they are really serious about wanting to build a house. The foundation is quite big'. It's really funny, I couldn't help laughing.

When I got back into the house, she was already in the kitchen, cooking.

I just stood at the door watching her cook until Nelson had to reveal my presence.

" Dad, have you seen the foundation?".

" Yeah, yeah. You're so hardworking. I'm proud of you"

" Xandra did most of the work. Guess what Dad".

" You know Dad is not good at guessing. What is it?". I said stooping to cup his cheeks.

" Xandra gave me a ride on her back too". He said smiling all the while.

I laughed.

" Really. I think we should say thank you to Xandra, what do you think?".

" Yes. 1,2, ready, go "

" Thank you, Xandra" we chorused.

Xandra was laughing real hard. She looks sexy when she laughs, I'll give her that.

" That's hilarious, really ". She said still laughing.

I laughed with her.

" You know. You should laugh more,it suits you,". I said but her expression changed immediately.

" I'm sorry ". I quickly added.

" It's ok ".

After dinner,we watched movie for a while before going to bed. 'She's a great cook, even better than me'.

I couldn't sleep a bit that night. I was thinking about Mirabelle.

' I don't like her,at least, not romantically. I just want to be friends with her but Mom won't understand'. I sighed.

Drey's POV;

" I'm just tired. Years of looking for Diamond and no fruitful result". I sighed.

" Chill guy. I'm sorry oo. But why are you so sure she's alive?". Jade, my one and only buddy.

" I'm just sure she's alive".

"Then,we will find her. Go ask her if there's any other clue".

" Ok".

" I'll go now. When you need me, just dial,ok?".

" Ok". And he left.

Jade is my best friend. He's not part of 5 star underground and as such, our relationship must be kept secret from them. He's a very experienced General Surgeon and Forensit.

Diamond, my little sis who got lost since she was just a year old. She and my Dad went for a walk that fateful day and none of them came back. We later found my dad's body days later but no trace of Diamond. The only way we knew she was still alive was through the diamond pendant. My Mom said when Diamond was born, she always wanted to be with her no matter how far apart they were. So, she employed an experienced goldsmith, modern scientist who made the diamond pendant connected to Diamond. I heard he used some radio transmitter stuff. As long as Diamond was alive, the pendant would keep glowing. That was the only way we knew my sister is alive and I had to reveal find her no matter what. I've been doing just that for years now with no clues as to where my sister is.

Ann, whenever I remember her, I can't help but feel guilty. What I did to her was inhumane. I don't know how to make it up to her.

Flashback

After Jade had hit her with a glass rod, she blacked out.

I carried her to the operating bed where Jade used the glass Ji' an to perform a surgery on Ann to remove the Shant from her brain.

The operation was successful and I dropped her at some remote town.

End of Flash back

I smiled sadly. I still remembered how I planted the Shant in her.

It was the first time she saw me and I wanted to take her number.

I placed the microscopic Shant on the phone so that when she touched it,it crawled onto her.

<I was wearing the Shant glasses which enabled me to see it's movement>

It crawled onto her arm to the back of her head where it attached itself and melted into her head at my control.

' I really want to apologize but I don't even know where she is. Even if I do, I'm sure she doesn't want to see me'. I sighed.

I need to go see mummy like Jade said.
