BUSINESS TYCOON<Maxwell Kim>

Narrator's POV:

About three years later __

Maxwell Kim is the most popular, handsome billionaire bachelor in town despite being 31 years old. He was a playboy who went after everything in skirt until one gave birth to his child and abandoned him. He stopped his wayward behavior and focused on taking care of his son and employed a nanny for him. Maxwell has been living a decent life up until now.

Maxwell has two siblings. A older male and younger female. Max's brother is around 35 yrs while his sister just turned 19. Max's father owns Saterite Company,a textile company, but Max's brother, Jordan, was the one managing the company since their father retired.

Max himself owns a handful of companies. Well's Mining Comp. being the major. Max's sister,Dora,lives with her parents. She's in her last year in high school. Max's loves his sister and son most and would do anything for their good. He cares for his mother too but he doesn't get along with his father v

Max don't have friends so he sometimes took to leisure driving with his little son who just turned 3 years old.

<Max found out that the nanny isn't doing her job well so he sacked and is currently looking for a nanny.>

On one of this occasion,he nearly ran someone down.

Max's POV:

'Oh my goodness'. I said coming down from the car. The girl probably thinking, she didn't even look before crossing. It's not really my fault.

Coming down from the car where she is, I saw that she has fainted and there was pool of blood under her legs. 'Her condition isn't that bad'. I carried her into the car and drove to the hospital.

' her face is familiar ' I don't think I've seen her before.

' she's probably one of the beggars around here, considering her dressing so there is no way I would have known her before '

When I got to the hospital, I had to carry her into the building. She's so small and petite. ' she fits into my arms'. Despite how she's poorly dressed, her beauty wasn't concealed.

I took her to the emergency unit and the doctor attended to her. I was asked to in the reception room. The doctor came out shortly after and asked to see me. I followed him to his office.

" Who are you to her,Mr. Max?". He asked

' how did he know my name? Oh, that's obviously a stupid question right? Who wouldn't know my name ?'.

" Stranger. I hit her with my car. Hope her condition is not that bad?"

" No, not at all. She should be fine in a week's time ". He replied.

I was heaved a sigh of relief.

" Good to hear that. Can I go see her now?". I asked.

" Sure. When you get back to the reception, you'll be given your Bill ".

" Thanks so much, doctor ".

" You are most welcome ".

She had been transferred to the normal ward during my discussion with the doctor.

She's sleeping and she looks really cute while sleeping, I'll admit. My heart palpitates at that thought. ' I should leave now ' I sighed and left the room.

'Good lord, Nelson. I almost forgot he's still in the car. That's careless of me'. I quickly left for the parking lot. Thankfully,he was sleeping when I got there. I entered the car and drove home.

I took him to his room so he could sleep comfortably.

I went into the kitchen to make dinner ( I make my food) I made noodles because That's what Nelson likes and I know he will demand his food when he wakes up. I made food for Three.

After dinner, I packed some food and took Nelson with me to the hospital. While in the car,my sis called.

" Baby sis"

" Big bro" she said and I chuckled.

" How's your day?".

" It's been great".

" Mum?".

" She's cool"

" Why did you call me then?".

" Just to greet you, is that bad?".

" I'll take your word for it then. Could you call later? I'm driving "

" Ok. Greet Nelson "

" Un"

When I got to her room she was already awake. She's looking into the roof as though she can see through it. It's obvious she's deep in thought. She didn't even notice my presence. I cleared my throat to get her attention.

She turned her head to my side. Her eyes are dazzling sea blue. I got lost staring at them.

" Who are you?". Her voice was cracked but I could still tell she has a nice voice. Then I realized I was still staring, I was embarrassed. I cleared my throat.' she looks like the cold type '.

" Un, I'm Maxwell. What's yours?". She looked at me with those eyes of hers that seemed to be made of ice. Then she spoke again.

" Were you the one that hit me ". She asked weakly.

" Yes. It was a mistake on both of our path. You weren't looking at where you were going "

' she might need water '

" I'll be back,relax " I said and went to get water and to bring Nelson in.

Lexi's POV:

It's been 3 years now since I got duped and I've been living off the street. It was hard. I had to do petty jobs to feed myself and make ends meet. I just finished work and wasn't paid. The employer making up excuses not to pay me. That got me thinking and I was oblivious to my surroundings which made me to be hit by a car and I blacked out.

I woke up not quite long ago to find myself in an hospital bed. A man walked in shortly after. He said his name is Maxwell. He was the one that hit me but at least he's willing to take me to the hospital, I appreciate that.

He went out just now so I just close my eyes.

'I've changed over time. Am now back to the Ann I know. Cold, and doesn't yield. I really don't know what happened then but I know I'm back to my familiar self. At the very least, I didn't lose my virginity to that fool'.

Flash back

" Yes but on a condition. I'll marry you on a condition"

" And what is that"

" Give me your word that you won't try to lay with me". He was silence for a while before replying.

" Ok, I I promise. I won't touch you".

" Ok then. I'll be your girlfriend".

End of Flash back

I smelt mint. It felt familiar. ' now I remember, it's the guy, Maxwell '.

I snapped my eyes open and true enough, he's there with a little boy in his arms. Probably his son. They look so much alike.

" Take" he said offering me the water.

I didn't make an attempt to take it from him.

" What, you don't trust me?". He said then he took a sip.

" You see, I didn't poison it, so take, you need it". I took the water from him.

It's true, I need it, I was very thirsty before the accident.

" The doctor said it's not severe and you'll be discharged in a week. Can you give me the contact of any of your family or friends so I can get to them". He said

'Family member and friends your head. I don't have any'. I wanted to say but I didn't.

He seemed to understand what my silence meant.

" You don't have a

Family? I'm deeply sorry "

' of course you should be sorry. You just picked at my injury '.

He took a bag from the bottom of the bed that I didn't know was there before and brought out a take away and a bottle of water. Then he sat down on the bedside

" Nelson, you should greet her". He said to the little boy.

" Hi ma".

His voice, I couldn't ignore the greeting even if I want to. So innocent and fragile. His voice was angelic.

" Hey, baby boy. How are you?". I said to him softly.

" Fine" he said shyly.

The father smiled like he just enjoyed a show.

" Can you sit up?".

I tried but it hurts, I can't sit by myself. I don't want to ask him for help. But as if he could read my mind.

" Let me help". He said but didn't wait for my response before holding me by the waist and sitting me up. Then he supported my back with a pillow.

' I love the feel of his hands on my waist'

No, I don't mean that.

He opened the food and gave it to me. I took it from him then I changed my mind and gave it back to him.

' firstly, I don't trust him and also I want to see him eat '

" Eat first". I said to him.

He smiled and took a spoonful. He chewed it slowly before swallowing.

I took little at first. Gosh, the food is very tasty. When last have I eaten good food. This food must be from one of the best restaurant in town. The guy looks rich so it isn't impossible. Or perhaps, his wife made it.

I took another spoonful,a bigger one this time. It's so delicious, I moaned in ectasy.

He smiled. It's annoying that he smile so much. ' will you let me eat in peace?'. I ignored his stares and just ate my food. The food was super delicious. I need to eat something like it soon. When I finished eating, he gave me some tissue to wipe my mouth. I was embarrassed that he saw me eating like a starving girl. Well, I was starving.

I collected it anyway and wiped my mouth then threw it in the bin.

"So, where do you live?"

"I don't have a house. What a pretty son you've got". I said changing the topic.

Somehow, the thought of him having a wife saddened me. I don't know why though but I know I don't like this feeling. It was unlike what I felt with Drey.

" thanks. He got the looks from me " he said with a proud smile.

I scoffed " don't overrate your self. You are not so good looking" I said in a mean tone.

I've been thinking I've seen the face before but I'm not sure.

I want to annoy him so he will stop smiling but frustratingly enough, he still smiled.

"Irony. I know I'm hot and girls fall head over hills for me"

" Says who. You are just an ugly duckling" I said are irritated.

" In case you don't know. I, Maxwell Kim is the hottest guy around"

' Oh, no wonder he looks familiar. Maxwell Kim. But the Maxwell Kim I do see on television is single. How come he got married and have a kid already? I guess I didn't know because I've been cut off from the internet'. I suddenly felt bad that he's married. I'm really mad at myself. How can I be jealous because of a person I don't know.

" I want to sleep" I said wanting him to leave.

" Ok" he stood up. I thought he was going to touch me again but instead, he just removed the pillow and asked me to lie down. I was almost disappointed. But why?

" Are you angry?". He asked. That surprised me.

" No, what made you think I'm angry?"

" Nothing. Sleep then. I'll get going ". He said and I suddenly wished he could stay for sometime more.

" Dad, I feel sleepy ". Nelson spoke.

" We are just about to go home ". He then faced me. " Ok,gotta go, sleep well. I'll check on you before I leave for work tomorrow ".

" My regards to your wife ". He didn't answer that, he just left.

'I need to stand guard against him'

Despite the warning I gave myself, I still found myself thinking of him all night.

Max's POV:

She's so cute. I enjoyed her company. I took Nelson to bed and put him to sleep.

I couldn't sleep early. I found myself thinking about her all night. I don't even know her name. I'll make sure to ask tomorrow.
