Author's Note

Hello my dear readers! Well, I won't bore you with the usual drivel and get right to it. You all must have noticed the change by now to the book's title. This little note is just to clear your presumptions, or well kinda confirm them.

That's right ladies and gentlemen, I'm gonna do a gamer fic. In Hollywood. And I completely understand your skepticism, if you have any that is. Cause let's admit it, my previous premise of a cheat was a laughable plot point, practically a McGuffin and I detest that. So I read up a couple of other showbiz fics, and suffice it to say, I wasn't impressed. Most of them were trashy at best, and well, their worst is so goddamn bad, it's not even worth talking about.

Though one fic stood out. It wasn't a fanfic really, more of a chinese translation. But it's popularity was on a whole another level. I'm talking about Chang Yu's so called masterclass in writing, which goes by the name, "I'm Really A Superstar". My god. Never in my life had I ever encountered a novel so full of trash, and yet, a veritable gold mine. I mean the premise was not bad, but the author's tendency to display the protagonist on a moral high ground using toxic nationalism at every turn, it just disappointed me, if nothing else.

Now I can highlight multiple flaws in the book, ranging from terrible dialogues, to Gary Stu cliches, but for once, let's focus on the positives, shall we. And there was a major one according to me. For those of you who've not clued in yet, I'm talking about the system. It had so much potential in my eyes, and to see it all squandered by Chang Yu... well, it lit a fire under my ass.

So here I find myself, trying my hand at a gamer fic. Now please note, this book will still focus on showbiz at heart. The game will just be a fun little convenient plot device to ensure this fic won't find itself riddled with plot holes and unrealistic scenarios further down the line, and believe me, the line is gonna be long. I'm talking about at least 500-600 chapters, covering his life from his birth in the 80s, and going on till he's at least 50-60. And then a couple of time skips, resulting in a nice little epilogue.

Regular updates start tomorrow, and once we reach the milestone of 10 chapters, I'll make a discord and patreon. Maybe a Kofi as well. Oh, and I'll be cross posting this on Royal Road. Anyways, that's it for today. Go away now.
