one week ago

Kallin and a group of knights stand in the room.

Kallin, in this moment, looks super worried.

"I bring you all here today after a tragedy happened. Half of my night patrol guards were killed, and my son went missing presumably taken by the perpetrators."

After pausing, there were several knights talking.

Kallin looks at everyone with a serious look before continuing.

"Each of you in this room will be leading a search party to find my son and capture the persons responsible for this unjust act."

"Seeing as they haven't sent for a ransom, it can be assumed he was taken to be sold. We only have about a week or 2 at the most to find him before they take him out of the country."

"You may all go except Sir Kinsly."

After waiting for everyone to leave.

"What are your thoughts, sir?"

"This smells of a noble's intention as im assuming this has to do with Lucans magic. Your job is to investigate the nobles from the party, dont make any moves till you have proof."

"Yes, Duke Dreya."

(Marko Kinsly Pov)

I started keeping an eye on the nobles that went to the party with the dukes shadows. Over the week, nothing unusual happened from what I could tell till today when Count Cremona left saying he was going on a stroll.

The shadow found him taking Lucan from a bandits hideout.

I told them to follow and find the other accomplice if there is any before taking action.

This is how we caught Count Cremona and his accomplice saving Lucan.

(Kallin pov)

several days later, Kallin sits a court yard.

Before him is Count Cremona, who is on his knees with a burlap sack covering his face and a sword at his neck

"Remove the bag so we can chat."

"Yes, sir."

the bag is taken off Cremona's head.

"You can not treat a noble with higher prestige in such a way, baron Dreya."

"I can and will. You are under the law of the land at this point. Your actions have pushed the kings hand. Your crime is for kidnapping a royal of the giants who is my son, insulting a higher noble, and finally selling information to another kingdom that is classified.These actions can be seen as treason In the name of the Dreya duchy, you are to be executed by beheading in the name of King Avery."

"Wait, you're a duke. everyone thinks you're a Baron. Please have mercy on me. I was only doing as I was told to..."

"That's how the king wants it. Off with his head."

With that, the axe dropped beheading him in a single strike before he could make another plea.

"The king isn't happy about this decision, but it must be done. Send the body to the capital and send this letter to the king he is expecting the results."

With that, Kallin left with an unsatisfactory look on his face.

(Lucan Pov)

During the time after I was saved, I was given a body guard, although I wouldn't know about them for quite a while, so it remained like normal for the most part.

The idra war rabbit joined me. I found it strange because they normally hate humans.

Today was the day i met my first magic instructor.

I was told to head to the training grounds behind the estate.

Before Lucan was a tall man with white hair like fresh snow after it covered the ground, his eyes were blue and fierce his clothing on the other hand seemed quite lacking as he only wore a grey cloth jacket with a black strap tying it mid waist revealing his bare chest he lastly he was wearing black pants.

In Lucans mind, he thought this man was crazy as it was cold outside being late winter after the snows have fallen.

"Sir, aren't you cold being dressed like that in the winter."

"What nonsense are you talking about? I am an ice mage, and when im done with you, the elements won't make you cold either. My name is Pierre, and im your ice magic instructor. Let's get to work."
