A billion people, including Quinn, was suddenly summoned to another world by an A.I. like existence claiming to be that world's consciousness. The A.I. explained how that world is similar to a game world and then spoke of it's troubles. He asked the humans, who posses endless creativity and boundless intelligence, to help it's inhabitants. In return, they could obtain infinite strength and build their own kingdoms and civilizations. Each person was then given a talent that would be awakened upon levelling up. Upon awakening, Quinn soon learned that he obtained his own cheat that could let him rise to the top without barely doing anything

Chapter 2: The Other World

Quinn only felt like he fell into a deep sleep. He closed his eyes one moment, and he lost consciousness. After what felt like a few moments, he opened his eyes into a brand new world. Light seeped into his eyes as his vision gradually became clearer and his surroundings came into view.

He was surrounded by trees. As far as his eyes can see, there were only trees. The tree were all at least twice the size of trees on earth. Way up high was covered with the tree tops and sunlight could only seep through the gaps.

"So what now?"

[Welcome Players to Planet Gaia. Once again, let me introduce myself. I am Planet Gaia's consciousness. You can also call me Gaia since I am the planet itself.]

A transparent box suddenly appeared in front of him carrying some kind of message...

[Gaia has a few different set of laws that is different to Earth's laws of physics. Firstly, this will what you call a fantasy or magic world. Secondly, you are like game characters and can level up through fighting. If you say 'Status' within your mind, a status panel should appear right in front of you that only you can see.]

Quinn's eyes lit up after reading the information.

'Status!'

Player Name: Quinn

Level: 0

Talent: (Dormant)

HP: 10/10

MP: 10/10

HP recovery: 0.5/sec

MP recovery: 0.5/sec

STR: 1

AGI: 1

INT: 1

WIL: 1

CON: 1

CHA: 1

After quickly scanning through his status, he noticed quickly his dormant talent. 'Is it because I still don't have a level?'

He also tried clicking on the various attributes and information about them popped up in front of him.

Strength: Determines how strong you're physical body is and how much physical damage you can deal (Note: 1 str = 10 atk power)

Agility: Determines the flexibility, speed, hand-eye coordination, balance of a person.

Intelligence: Determines how large your mana pool is and how much magic bonus your spells get. (Note: 1 int = 10 mp)

Willpower: Determines how fast your mana recovery rate is. (Note: 1 wil = 0.5 mp/sec)

Constitution: Determines how much your health is (Note: 1 point = 10 hp) and fast your health recovery is. (Note: 1 con = 0.5 hp/sec)

Charisma: Affects other beings' impression of you. You're more likely to be able to befriend others with high charisma.

HP and MP were understandable. HP means how many damage I can take before dying while MP is the energy I have for using skills.

After through everything, he then started to contemplate what his next moves would be. The very first thing he should do right now was to find a secure place for him to hide in. After that, he wants to go and level up and see what kind of powers he can get.

While he was thinking, another message from Gaia popped up in front of his face.

[All Players will shortly be given a Starter Pack that will provide you with the most basic resources to survive]

Following after that was a ding...

[Would you like to receive your Starter Pack?]

[Y/N]

Quinn quickly pressed Yes and heard another ding...

[Starter Pack has been received. Please check your inventory.]

Quinn was once again surprised by the new information brought to him. 'Inventory!', he shouted in his mind. After that, an inventory box appeared in front of him with ten inventory slots. On one of the inventory slots was the Starter Pack. He clicked on the box and opened it.

[Congratulations you have obtained

Beginner's Sword (Tier 0)

Bread × 10

Water ×10

Wood ×100

Stone ×100]

He then saw the items being moved over to his empty inventory slots. The sword, bread and water occupied one slot each while two of the slots contained 99 wood and stone. Another two slots were occupied by 1 wood and stone each.

Quinn was speechless seeing this. 'Can't you just set the limit to 100?! And by the way, what am I gonna use all of this wood and stone for?'

He then ignored it after a while to focus on more important things. 'Besides, Gaia probably wouldn't give us useless stuff to occupy our precious inventory slots.'

Now that he's got a sword, he's pretty excited at the thought of being able to level up. And speaking of the sword, he grabbed it from his inventory and put it in front of him. The sword was made of wood but was still looked like it could deal some damage due to how it was sharpened. A new screen suddenly appeared in front of him that displayed the sword's information.

Beginner's Sword

Tier 0

Atk +5

Durability: 50/50

"Well, seems fitting for a trash tier item. And it looks like everything here is divided into tiers. Trash items are all Tier 0. Well it would still be useful if we had some kind of beginner's guide."

What he didn't know was that there really was a beginner's guide and that he was just too excited to notice.

He swung it around for some time to test the weight before he excitedly set off to level up and discover more superpowers. He didn't know anything about the forest so he just randomly picked a direction before walking towards it.

He spent a few minutes walking aimlessly and looking for a good target to practice with and also to level up. He then slowly lost his past excitement as he walked further without finding any living being.

He was also slowly losing his stamina as and very soon, he started panting slightly. His body was still so trashy even after transmigrating. He used to be a reclusive otaku after all.

Just as he was on the brink of giving up, he noticed something shiny. He then looked close ahead noticed something out of place. "Is-is that a treasure chest?!" He was instantly refilled with vigor as he looked at the treasure chest.

The treasure chest was bronze colored and it looked like it was just dropped here since there was not a speck of dust on it and there were no plants growing on it. He excitedly ran up to it and was about to put his hand over the chest when something quickly flashed in front of his eyes.

His hand was slapped away with great force. He was startled by the sudden attack and quickly retrieved his hand. He looked down on his hand and saw that it was slightly red from the attack.

He then shifted his eyes in front of him to see his attacker and was surprised to see an ordinary rabbit. Well, aside from being only slightly smaller than a dog, it looked like an ordinary rabbit.

He studied it for a few seconds before coming up with a hypothesis. "Wait is it also like those games and novels where treasures will have their own guardians and I have to fight them to obtain it?!"

Thinking that, he drew his sword and prepared for battle.
