Toste versus Mary

Before what actually happened to the travesty of their battle, Toste had already planned for this scenario, a battle between a powerful foe with no intel about her whatsoever, only intel he has is his capabilities, strategy, and will to fight. And with that, he sure hopes to survive alongside Zane.

But that can't be promised since he is betting his own life for the sake of Zane and himself.

Now he is facing Mary as waiting who would take the first move.

"Those who make the first move wins."

Toste immediately attacked Mary from the ground with his dark tentacles while doing so, he scatters his dark roots to regain his strength and health.

But suddenly, many parasitic bone spikes spread all around the area, multiplying at each layer, like some sort of root of the tree. Each move she takes he dodges and tries to reach Mary's body with his dark tentacles.

"You know you couldn't defeat me in a thousand years if you kept on reaching me.

Now that I know your strategy I'll be able to counter yours, you are trying to weaken me, making me tired from this battle while you regain your strength based on the roots you scattered."

After 3 minutes of the battle, it heated up very fast as Mary kept on offense as Toste can't keep up with her few attacks which is why he has to dodge and block each close to death attacks.

Then, Mary puked blood all of a sudden.

"I didn't even remember getting hit... What did you do to me?"

"Who knows? You might be endangered. For now let's make it quick."

Toste then launches more tentacles at Mary as suddenly she let her guard down.

And with that, she wasn't able to evade. Her full body is penetrated by the numerous dark tentacles he has at the moment.

Mary faints to the ground with blood covering and flowing throughout the ground.

Mary couldn't handle the pressure of the battle.

With high IQ and master of strategy, Mary is no match since she is just an amateur.

As soon as Toste knew he won, all he could do now is to respond at Zane's call.

Mary's memories flooded as soon as she experiences near death closure.

She once had a friend from the past.

She dearly loved him so much that they both spent time every day.

They would get called like they were a couple from their school.

But her friend felt like he was an outsider.

And soon they would get into an argument, which lead to a disastrous tragedy.

She was sent to the hospital and never went to school for 4 years.

Mary wondered what happened to her friend, some teachers told Mary that he went missing afterwards.

With loneliness and solitude creeps at the shoulders of an infected individual, she unlocks something in her heart, the ability to control the growing bones all over her body.

In an instant, it went unstable as it soon destroyed the whole hospital, causing a massive chaos in the area, 49 casualties and 3 deaths confirmed.

Afterwards, she was sent to a higher laboratory for some experiments.

Professor Cthulhu was the leading researchers for this project.

And soon it became effective, she somehow forgotten the past and became a perfect worker for Professor Cthulhu to work alongside with at the White Room.

Now that she remembers her past once more, she wakes up from her fall and immediately goes for the rampage as many bones abnormally grows all around like roots from all over the vicinity.

Toste is shocked by the fact that she is still persistent on fighting him.

The strategy he planned was to think like she has the upper hand.

First, make sure he has the leverage secretly to regain the strength and vitality to fight her.

Then make her busy by making some obstacles along the way, and lastly release the deadly virus known as the blood of the abyss mixed in with the SK Virus by turning his own blood into the air as Mary soon breathed and got infected by a poisonous substance.

But that wasn't the case, now she is causing massive rampage in the area which he had not planned.

Toste is now in a dire situation and forced to switch in defensive mode.

Though, he can't keep up with the multiplying bones piercing his defense, he gets damaged and now almost in a near death experience.

"What should I do...? At this rate I'll die..." Suddenly, behind Mary, Zane appears as suddenly he twists her head and neck clockwise motion as he uses his legs as a roundhouse kick making Mary lose consciousness.

All the bones she used is now paused for the time being.

"Brother... is she dead?"

"Maybe. To make sure she couldn't cause us any more trouble."

"You seem different, brother. Did something happened?"

"Not in particular, I just realized why I existed in the first place. Enough about that, are you hurt?"

"Almost but thanks for your information about my abilities. It really helped me out."

"For now, let's proceed towards finding a way out."

"They managed to deal the two of them. How overpowered they are."

Claire comments to their result of the battle.

"Now what should I do at this rate.

This battle is longer than Olivia's backstory.

There should be a clear reason behind it."

Claire tries to move elsewhere to watch them march towards the White Room with no clear guidance of where to go.

However, she might be able to assist them if possible.

And that's where an options are made.

So it wouldn't make sense if Claire is supposedly a dangerous entity as well.

"Who are you?" Zane asks Claire.

"Calm down, the two of you. I'm harmless. My name is Claire Valentine and I am lost as well."

"You too?"

Zane stutters as it might lead to the question why he was here in the first.

He might be able to get some answers from Claire herself. "My name is Zane."

"Toste is my name."

"Nice to meet you. Why don't we all grouped together in order to find a way out?"

"That's a logical idea.

Let's move then or else someone might endanger us."

Toste recommends Zane from gaining connection for once in their life.

Claire is the first entity with no hostile intentions. While marching through the long pathway,

"So you have no memories as well?"

"All I could remember was I was in the world called the Ignis Fatuus, I faced overpowered antagonists and deal with all the deaths I've encountered.

Now I ended up here."

"That's a mystery. We both have no memories involving in this place."

"I see, why don't we team up since we both share the same goal."

"Can you fight tho?" Toste asks Claire.

"I'm not a fighter type tho. I can just heal someone or cure SK Virus."

"SK Virus? What's that?" Toste asks.

"I don't know the full details but it eventually changed the course of humankind when it infected billions of people which decreased the population of humanity."

"I see..."

Toste wondered why that word is familiar as well.

He might be able to get information from Claire.

It felt like close enough for him to reach the truth.

For over 3 hours of walking nonstop, they decided to rest for a while.
