WHAT A RIDE

"How are things on your end, is everything under control?" Axel said to the person he was having a dialogue with on the phone.

Axel's face distorted a little after receiving the reply of the person at the other end. His furrowed brows spelt nothing but bad news!

After ending the conversation, he slowly brought the phone down from his ears with that same expression. He looked a little bit lost. "This is bad." He whispered before placing his phone back in his trouser pocket.

Kamlyn sat quietly after the series of beating of her heart, her attention solely focused on the road as if she was the one on the driver's seat.

She thought that was the only way for her to distract her mind from the earlier incident and the numerous questions popping out from nowhere which she do not have answers to.

God knows how hard she has been trying to stop herself from looking him in the face.

Honestly she thinks she is emotionally not alright.

Her mind and emotions are all jumbled up. She can't even decipher what she feels anymore. Her brain is acting strange. That was it for her because right now she seems short of words, ideas or even what to think about, but that occurrence earlier. She felt like her brain was totally on shut down mode.

How is he so calm? She could not understand. He is looks so unaffected by what transpired some minutes ago.

She gave a small glance at him. Her little glances turned to big stares, she just continued staring at him. What exactly was she staring at? she didn't know. She just couldn't look away any longer.

Her lingering gaze didn't last long because he suddenly looked at her, as if he felt her stares on him. She swiftly diverted her attention back to the road when he turned to face her. Oh Lord what a ride!.

Ethan brought his attention back to the wheel after he caught her staring at him and she turned away. He slowly maneuvered the car, directly going into another lane. The car went back to it previous state of utter discomfort, for kamlyn that is.

The lane he was driving through was totally strange for her, this do not look like the way back to the Lu mansion. But.... it somehow looks familiar.

She inwardly pondered on if or wether she has been on this road or if she had any memories consisting this road.

Wait! this.....is this is the route to the Lu corporation!. Was he planning on taking her to the Lu corporation?. Maybe his Dad said to do it. That was all in her thoughts.

After five minutes, the car came to a halt in the Lu corporation's underground parking lot.

Ethan swiftly switched of the ignition and the sound of the engine slowly died down. He alighted from the car and made his way round it.

Kamlyn who was already prepared to get her side of the door open, was interrupted when the door already bounced open. She stared at him with those wide dark brown eyes of hers. She was caught off guard.

"Get down." He said more like an order. He was already back to that cold side of him.

Kamlyn jolted a little due to the weight his voice carried. She quickly took off the seatbelt around her, hurriedly! she wouldn't want a repeat of what happened earlier.

After she stepped down, She immediately stood aside waiting for him to lead the way. Not like she didn't know her way around the Lu corporation, she spent almost all her holidays there before she went abroad. Some of the staffs might still remember her, but she doubt that, it's been a very long time.

While walking behind him she looked around, a reminiscing look clouding her face. Her eyes kept moving around with interest, from one place to another and it continues till the point she didn't realize that they had arrived at the elevator located underground which made him to pause his step, causing her to collide with his strong back.

She bounced back immediately after the hit, rubbing her already red forehead.

Ethan hurriedly turn back the moment he felt something, or rather someone at his back. The impact didn't do much on him, but he knew the other person most be badly hurting now.

He saw her rubbing her slightly red forehead. He moved closer to her without even her notice, his hands were already on her face. The left one cupping her jaw and the right hand fingers were placed on the injured spot on her forehead.

She was really caught off guard by this unexpected move. Already her chin was held in his palm, bringing her gaze up to his height level. She stared straight at his eyes with bewilderment and shock visible on her face.
