"But why, I want to know." I said. There is no way that I was going to keep quiet, I wanted to who Maynard was talking to and why he was calling another woman mother.

"You might not value your life but I do, so stop trying to risk your life. You are only Maynard's contract wife, he has no feelings for you, so killing you wouldn't be a problem for him." He said.

"Wait, how do you know that this is just a contract marriage?" I asked him because I don't remember Maynard telling me that lucius knew that this marriage was not real.

"Well, I have my ways. But seriously don't let your curiosity get the best of you, or you will end up being buried alive." He said.

"What? Would he really do that?" I asked. I didn't know why I was even asking, of course Maynard would bury me alive.

"Yes, that man is as heartless as they come, so don't get on his bad side because well... I would rather not say what is going to happen because a lot might happen." He said. He did have a point but I just couldn't stop being curious.

"Lucius, would you like to take a walk in the garden?" I asked him.

"Yeah sure, as long as you come with me." He said and I nodded my head with a smile on my face. We both went outside to the garden. I like how refreshing it was to be outside because there were so many flowers and trees, the air is fresh and the sound of the swaying trees and the singing birds make it even more lovable.

"OH lucius, I have been meaning to ask you something." I said.

"Yes go ahead." He said.

"What is your relationship with Maynard?"I asked. I have just been curious about a lot of things, one of those things was how exactly were this two related.

" Well, I am his... Relative. "He said.

" I know that you guys are related but how, is he your brother, cousin or nephew? "I asked.

"Can we not talk about it, I am sure that he will tell you when he feels like it, fir now just be patient." He said.

"Why, what exactly are you guys hiding from me?" I asked.

"Look, I... Hey let's go to that fish pond over there." He said pointing at the beautiful fish pond that I had seen last time. I nodded my head.

He sat down on the bench and well yes I was on my wheelchair and I didn't feel bad because the wheelchair was more comfortable that that bench." So are you going to tell me?" I asked.

"Emma, look thisvis a lot more complicated than you think so please it is better if you just wait for Maynard to tell you." He said.

"Why can't you tell me? Look I get it, there is no love in this relationship that I have with him but I at least have to know something about him other that his age,his name and where he lives." I said.

"Yes I know that, but you just have to be a little more patient I am sure that the right time will come when Maynard will tell you everything that you need to hear, for now just act like you don't know anything." He said.

"Okay, why is Maynard so different from you?" I asked.

"What do you mean?"He asked looking at me with a smile on his face. He always managed to keep a sile on his face no matter what.

" I mean, you are nice and caring but he on the other hand, he is cold and heartless. He doesn't care about me or my feelings, he acts like this world is his and that nobody can do anything to him." I said.

"Maynard has always been different from all of us, that why dad wants him to be his successor." He said.

"What do you mean, are you guys brothers and who are the others?" I asked him, he stood up from the bench.

"I just remembered that I have something to attend to I aill see you later." He said.

"You haven't even answered my question yet, hey wait!" I shouted but he just walked away. This two had a lot more secrets than I thought and I just couldn't wait to find out about all of them.

It was time for lunch and the three of us were seating in the dining hall eating our food quietly. The quietness was really awkward it kinda felt like everyone just wanted to eat and get the hell out of here. Maynard had a serious expression on his face and he seemed to be in a very bad mood. He looked like he could he could really eat someone alive. An idea popped up in my head, I cleared my throat. "Lucius, I have been meaning to ask you. Would you like to go out for dinner with me?" I asked and I could feel Maynard giving both me and lucius a death glare.

"Well, when do you want us to go out fir dinner?"He asked.

" Tomorrow night of course. "I said.

"You won't be going anywhere with him." Maynard said abd his tone was dark abd scary, but I was not going to act weak abd show him that he scared me.

"And why not?" I asked.

"You are not allowed to go out with any other man other that me." He said.

"Well I will abs lucius is not a stranger to me. Besides you don't care about my feelings or well being so why would I bother going out with you, I would rather go out with someone who cares not a heartless asshole like you." I said. That was not what I planned on saying, the words just cane out if my mouth.

"Are you tired of living? Then if you are go out with him and I won't mind giving you a much worse punishment." He said.

"Oh I yeah and what are you going to do, lock me out in a cage or something, I am not afraid of you." I said.

"That just gives me an idea. I am going to lock you up in the basement and you won't be getting food nor water and if anyone gives you anything without my permission then they will have to answer to me." He said looking at lucius. This guy was mad, would he really lock me up in a basement just because I wanted to have dinner with lucius abd fir talking back to him.
