1876, London
It had been a few weeks since Sherlock had come to this reality. After having discovered that he might be a mutant with powers, he first decided to train his powers while his body recovered. So he had spent the last few weeks just eating, exercising and exploring, and training his powers.
Telekinesis is a versatile power, and a versatile power like that, in the hands of someone like Sherlock was bound to be used fully. He had been using his telekinetic powers to do everything. He practiced writing in his own handwriting, eating, lifting objects, playing the violin, and everything else.
"Sherlock dear, are you sick? I'll get a porridge going right away." One morning Mrs. Hudson came in with tea and touched Sherlock's forehead suddenly. Clearly, he was sick, why else would he have cleaned his room and arranged everything in order.
After weeks of using telekinesis for everything other than exercising, Sherlock could feel the strength he had was overwhelming compared to his previous self. With just his body alone he could take on three of his previous self in his prime. Adding to that the telekinesis he trained extensively, he was sure no normal human could ever harm him.
He wasn't exactly sure as he hadn't gone out to test it yet but Sherlock was sure he could lift a half-ton carriage with relative ease. He had also devised a way to continuously keep the telekinesis around himself like a shield of sorts.
'But I still lack the control to keep the shield area tightly around my body and it is too taxing on my mind to keep it up for a longer duration.' So, for now, Sherlock decided to practice more and use it only when he is in dangerous situations.
With this, he just needed to fortify his mind from psychics and he would be ready to confront the mystical world. He had been working on fortifying his mind palace these last few days and he had made some progress.
He was sure that by the time he meets the really strong telepaths he will have an impenetrable mind. What he was worried about was an entirely different kind of being.
'I wonder if I can hide my thoughts from those peeking gazes beyond this reality. They've been getting even more intense lately. This reality I exist in should be something episodic though, the patterns of the intensity change in the gazes match somewhat with those gossip magazines.'
'Also the gazes were almost non-existent during the last few weeks. Except for a few times, I couldn't feel them at all. Maybe they have a limitation on what they can see? Or maybe they skipped that part as uninteresting as writers do in stories when nothing of note happens? Hmm… this could prove useful, but needs further experiments and thought.'
"Sherlock! Your carriage is here!" Just as Sherlock was lost in his thoughts he was brought back to his sense by a shouting Mrs. Hudson.

London Library
Holmes was sitting in a corner with a few large piles of books all around him almost hiding him from everyone's sight. In his previous world, Sherlock was well versed in Chemistry, Alchemy, Anatomy, Disguise, and Espionage while dabbling in Geology, Botany, and Law.
But now, this was not enough for Sherlock, his plans were too grand and he couldn't be lacking in knowledge for that. And since he already knew his mind was many times faster and sharper than before with a perfect memory, why not use it to learn all he could.
And so, Sherlock poured over every book he could find in the library. Besides the subjects he already knew, he also took up every other subject he could find. Physics, Medical science, Literature, Politics, and History he left no book unread.
To his surprise, his mind had strengthened far beyond what he had imagined. The piles of books he had expected to take at least a few weeks to read had been read in hours with him being able to perfectly recall and comprehend them without issue. Now he was excited to try out his mental limits.
Although he was excitedly reading to gather more knowledge, he was aware of his main purpose here. He was trying to correlate the history and literature books and find any inconsistencies that might lead to the discovery of any traces of the mystical side.
And he found one right away, very close to home, Merlin the sorcerer and the Arthurian legend. Merlin was of great interest to Sherlock. In the ideaverse, he had seen that every idea of Merlin he came across all stemmed from a single one. Meaning, that all the Merlins in all of the realities as far as he knew was the same person.
The inconsistencies in the history and literature were glaringly obvious. While the legends spoke of Merlin's sorcery, Arthurs's Excalibur, and Sir Percy's black sword; the history merely chocked Merlin as a great advisor and teacher to Arthur who was particularly good at swordsmanship.
'I am sure the royal palace has some clues and shreds of evidence. I wonder if Mycroft could get his hands on them. At this point in time, he should have just become the Central Intelligence of Her Majesty's Secret Service. He should already have the highest clearance access.'
While deciding to meet Mycroft soon, Holmes continued to read more books. He enjoyed this feeling of learning everything. 'I might even be able to steal the codename Omnipotence from Mycroft in this reality.'
Without his newfound powers, Sherlock had to admit that his brother had a far superior mind to his own. Using this gift Mycroft decided to take up a desk job in the British intelligence service, unlike the more physical detective work Sherlock was pursuing.
But Mycroft had turned this desk job of his into the seat of power in just a few years becoming one of the most powerful and influential men in the world. Every piece of intelligence passed through him from every department.
Where others only saw individual information about different events, Mycroft could see their relations and their overarching effects globally. He knew enough secrets to control most of the European elites. And so he was codenamed 'Omnipotence'.
After Sherlock had ended his reading session late in the evening, he sent a telegraph to Mycroft stating that he wanted to meet and went back home. He would continue these reading sessions for a few more days until he has read every book in the library.
