Sylvia:
"Whoa there boys. Easy does it, I wouldn't want to drop her into the toxins. Enough floating in here to take out all four of us and have some left over." What could I do? They were here, but if they tried the toxin would sink in. He began to smell my hair, trailing his face down to the crook of my neck. "Wouldn't want to mess up this gorgeous skin right before the big ceremony now would we?"
"Sylvia." Silas growled from just outside the shield.
"Is he telling the truth?" Sinlan asked and I took a moment to really study the shield around us. It was swarming with various toxins, some I had never seen and couldn't tell what they would do. I looked at them, their wolves fighting to come out, and nodded. He was telling the truth. "Why isn't he here?" I knew who he meant, he meant Xain.
"I didn't want him to expose himself."
"Fuck that, either he comes in or we do!" Silas said. I felt the watcher squeeze me tighter.
