[Chapter 146] Locked In

I put my arms down as I shove the wristbands away before turning around to leave, that's when I realize the door is locked. 'What's this bullshit?' I think as I repeatedly put my wristband against the sensor, only for it to buzz while saying, "Access Denied."

"I own you! What do you mean access denied?!" I ask but there is no response as we stand in the room. I look over at Winter who is going to speak, "Maybe it's because this point is restricted access. The system probably locked it because of that." I respond in an exasperated tone, "I know! But I own the damn thing! I own this whole damn thing!"

I take a few breaths as I calm myself down and thinking of a solution. 'Okay, so I can do one if two options, either the boring way by using commands in the log.....or the fun way.' I think as a smirk forms on my face. I open up my wristband and look at the schematics for a moment before walking over to a certain portion of the wall and pressing on it.

I continue to hold pressure until I hear a click and I quickly retract my hand, the panel unfolding to reveal a plethora of wires and devices. I look through it as I use Shadow Weapon to make tools when I need them, soon after, another click is heard as the door unlocks.

I close the panel and turn around to see a shocked look on Winter. Then a large smile forms on her face, her tail wagging rapidly as she walks up and reaffirms her grip on my arm.

'What's up with her today? She is a lot clingier than usual.' I notice as she grabs tightly onto my arm, as if trying to show claim to me. I shrug as I feel her large chest wrapped around my arm, 'There are definitely benefits though.'

I walk out as I let out the purple blob of jello known as my slime free from his tattoo. He plops down on my head as he purrs violently, his gelatinous body quivering with happiness as he takes his rightful place on top of my head.

I reach up and rub his head while people continue to stare at our group. 'I hope unlocking that door doesn't change much.' I think as I lead our group towards the arena.

Just as I leave the hall, at the other end, a teacher walks up to the door and holds up his wristband and as the door opens, he is shocked to see no one inside. He walks in and looks around, trying to see if anything was taken before his eyes land on the slight mess of stacked containers in the corner.

He opens his watch as he begins to write on his holographic screen while he searches the room for any other oddities but coming up empty.

'No one is here, but I wonder what the intruder took.' He ponders as he looks at each of the boxes when he notices a slightly open container shoved on top. He reaches up and grabs it before looking inside and seeing two slots in the foam holder missing wristbands. His pupils constrict as he deletes what he was writing and immediately calls one of his contacts.

"What's the emergency?" A cold, feminine voice asks as the owner of the voice appears on the screen. Her round face and brown hair that would give off a warm aura feel cold as her eyes stare at the brown haired man. But her slow wagging black tail shows she is actually happy talking to this man, why wouldn't she since it's her husband after all.

"Two wristbands are gone from the 5th supply room in sector A." He says with a serious face.

She tilts her head slightly as a confused look appears on her face. "Just punish the intruders who stole it, the doors lock for a reason and only I can lift the lockdown from the inside."

He waves his watch around the room as he explains, "When I entered, there was no one in here. Only the mess."

Her tail stops wagging as she understands his issue. "I'll check the cameras, give me a minute."

She starts immediately typing with her other hand at lightning speeds as she brings up the camera footage before freezing. A rare smile forms on her face as she closes the feed.

He has a small look of shock as he asks, "Who did you see?"

She speaks softly as a warm tone fills her voice. "Winter and Kurayami are back, and they brought two guests. Can you meet up with them? I would but I have to manage the cube."

He pauses for a moment before laughing, "Of course, only he could get out with ease. Yes, I can, where are they heading?"

"Call him and ask, you have his number, plus, I am not going to stalk them on the cameras if he would just tell you." She answers bluntly.

He nods, "Alright, I will do that now, love you, see you later."

She nods as the smile reappears on her lips, "Love you too, see you when I get home."

And he hangs up before ringing Kurayami up, only one thought on his mind, 'How has he been?'

I feel a vibration on my wrist and immediately open up my watch, just to be greeted by Winter's Dad. I quickly accept the call and before I can say a word, he greets me. Me and Winter greet him back and he lets us know that he is in the room that we were just locked in a little bit ago.

We talk a bit more as he explains that we were seen by the cameras before he asks me where we are heading to. I simply say, "The closest arena."

"I'll meet you there then." And he abruptly hangs up as I assume he runs towards the arena.
