CHAPTER FOURTEEN

The elevator dined and the doors opened to the big kids in the school, I could even feel their pride clear as day, they did not even bother to hide their auras. I scanned all of them, and most of them were ranked ranging from ten to four, but I could feel this overwhelming aura around them yet I could not pin point where exactly.

“Come on, we have to hurry” Neil’s voice rang and I noticed he walked way ahead of me causing some people to look between the two of us, I quickly walked towards him and soon enough the rumors started:

“Is that Neil’s sister or cousin?”

“Neil has a girlfriend! And she’s so tiny!”

“She looks like she was dragged here, but she does have a good body…like damn!”

“I want to tap that”

I frowned as the spoke about me, they did not even bother to whisper or advent their stares when my gaze clashed with theirs “Ignore them, their lives are a bore and the thrive on others” Neil’s voice rang and I could have sworn everyone turned away from me like I turned into their mother…naked.

Neil walked into the last class which seemed to be bigger than the rest. I decided to wait at the door not caring if I looked like a creep with my usual smile intact “Joy this is Nwosu” Neil said and I looked up to the most beautiful boy I had ever laid my eyes on. He looked like he was created in the heavens.

His eyes looked like two pools of melted gold as he starred at me with a blank expression that made me wonder if he was alive, his hair was thread after thread of white like a mountain and it covered his ears and neck nape with a little falling over his forehead, and his skin had a milky tone to it and it looked so soft. So this is Nwosu, I thought.

I blinked when I noticed I was staring to much causing us to break eye contact, I cleared my throat which had magically become dry and took a step back as my heart felt like it would bust any moment now, what is this feeling? I wondered but before I could ponder myself Neil spoke up “Let’s go, or else we’ll skip lunch” he said walking out the door followed by Nwosu who did not say a word or look at me, at which I could not help but feel bothered but I pushed that feeling away. Why would I?

I trailed behind them in a heated and awkward silence, people who stared at us quickly turned the other way and those in our way parted like they had been burned by fire “Target approaching in six seconds” Omega’s voice said rashly and I halted in my steps just as my sensitive ears picked up on a small whistling sound “tie your shoelaces” omega said and I bend over just in time to avoid the tomato that was tossed with brutal force.

And then the sound of water been splashed on a hard wall echoed in the silenced hall ways, I looked up to see Nwosu’s hand holding a squashed tomato “Who threw this?” Neil asked calmly but his rigged body told another story, no one spoke a word as they stared at each other not knowing what to do.

Nwosu walked away from Neil’s side and by past me in my crotched position, his movement caused everyone to look at him as he walked with elegance and dormancy and he halted before a girl who was hidden from my view but I could tell she was around my age.

He outstretched his arm and gave the squashed tomato to her, so she was the one who threw it, but why? Nwosu turned around without a word and started to walk back towards us, but stopped by my side and pulled me up making me feel his warmth that was above average, gasps echoed around us like this was all so new.

His hands magically snaked its way from my elbow down my wrist onto my hand and his long fingers interlocked with mine causing a look of pure shock to display on my face and everyone else including Neil. I should have pulled my hand away from him but my body was not coping with my pride, so I let him hold my hand and within minutes of us walking down the corridoes it felt like I had always held his hand.

Neil was oddly quiet at the start only speaking about the name of the room and why, he was just begging me to bother him to which I did and got him annoyed, and then the grumpy Neil was back, all that time Nwosu did not say a word nor did he let go of my hand.

“These are the bathrooms, the blue one is for the boys and the pink ones for the girl- ““Okay, wait here as I check out the lady’s room” I cut Neil off as my bladder pleaded for release “Eh…Nwosu…you mind letting go for a bit” I said rather awkwardly might I add and he slowly let my hand go with his eyes flashing with emotion before it disappeared “don’t take too long” Neil warned and I cheekily smiled at him.

I sighed as I came out from the stall to wash my hands and then what I did before flashed through my mind ‘I called him by his name!’ I thought but before I could bury myself deeper in my thoughts, a stall opened and a girl walked out, she looked so familiar but I couldn’t place where I saw her from “Oh my…! It’s you!” she squealed as she looked at me. Who is she? I wondered.
