Chapter 11

As her belly was bloated with delicious food and had a clean body, she started to think rationally. Throwing away her pitiful act hours ago. It's time to act like a grown-up instead of wallowing in self-pity. The dream she had must be a clue for something. She should investigate instead of searching for her Dada or any of her family members.

After all, She didn't survive her poverty in her previous life by sheer luck. Her tenacity to survive, her strong will to have a better life, her experience should have matured her thinking even living inside the child body, presently. Her brilliant mind was also of the contribution in her previous life. It's time to use it for a good cause.

She concluded to meet the family book recorder during her meal and requested her Baba to appoint the meeting as soon as she finished her meal. As usual, her Baba followed exactly her request without asking any unneeded questions even if her action was too suspicious.

She bid her brother goodbye without looking back. Waved him goodbye as well as Demien seemed occupied with his things despite cutting classes. She'd wanted to ask but she knew her limit. She swore to herself to never pry on her family activities. Her ultimate goal was to worry-free and slacking throughout her life until she died. Learning people's problems would put her at a disadvantage. She could not afford to worry about others. Her top priority was to save herself.

"The bookkeeper is inside the library, My Lady," Emily told her amidst her thinking.

She was so busy thinking to hear her so she kept quiet while striding across the silent hallway, her brow knitted together.

"My Lady." Called Emily. "My Lady!" She raised her voice in an appropriate range.

"Ah? Yes." She realized at last. Her green eyes slowly turning towards Emily and blinking cutely just for the service.

'She should have done this much after seeing how frantic Emily was during her outburst just now.'

Emily's straight face put a gentle smile. Maybe her actions put her heart at ease or just a facade, she didn't know and she didn't want to know.

"Yes, Emily?" She stopped moving and paid attention to Emily, who was behind her.

"The bookkeeper is inside the library, My Lady." Reported Emily for the second. Her smile was so radiant this time.

Truthfully, Emily was so happy to see her young lady back to her usual poise self. Emily didn't mind if Elizebeth wanted to act like a petulant kid sometimes but the level-headed Elizebeth was most welcomed as well. It seems Elizebeth has her mission to be fulfilled. It's Emily's job to support her master wholeheartedly.

Elizebeth smiled prettily. "Thank you for informing me, Emily." She turned her heels and walked towards the library. Nodding her head with a smile when the workers greeted her like a good employer she was.

They moved quietly in a few minutes as Elizebeth in deep thinking. They stopped walking as they both stood in front of the library's door. Emily turned her head towards her for permission and only opened it with a tiny nod from her as approval.

"The young lady has arrived." Announced Emily inside the library as she opened the door.

The man inside turned around in a surprised face, he quickly stood up from his seat and ambled towards her with delight. "My Lady. I am sir Ikrar at your disposal, My Lady." He bowed slightly one hand at the chest while another hand was behind his back.

"Hello, sir Ikrar." She smiled at him.

Sir Ikrar was a young man in the early 20s. He has typical short hair, white skin, orange hair, and short stubbles. He was the son of the closest baron of her father. They have worked with them for generations.

"I heard you were looking rather for something important, My Lady." Ikrar trailed behind Elizebeth with a sincere smile not to please the lady but to make her feel welcome inside her. Elizebeth was a favorite daughter of the house. Not only was she lovable, but she was also very clever for her age but she wasn't always interested in history.

"Yes." She admitted short in her lovely voice.

"Oh." Ikrar was certainly shocked. It was a lovely day today. The lady of the house took interest in history at last. "Pardon if my question was out of the line, what kind of history do you wish to know apart from your ancestry? May I know, My Lady?"

Elizebeth could not stop herself from smiling. Sir Ikrar was quick-witted. He knew her real reason behind her visit. She beamed with a lot of questions in her head. There's a lot she needed to record.

"Emily." She raised her hand. "Please bring me my notebook."

"Of course, My Lady." Emily obeyed and swiftly went to Elizebeth's room.

Ikrar studied the lady. The happy smirked subconsciously plastered on his face. Seemed they would have a very long chat. What could be possibly the topic? Family heirloom? The territory? The lands outside and inside the Kingdom? The possibility was endless.

Elizebeth still smiled at him. She then moved her lips to talk. "I think we need to move to the bigger desk. Where is the biggest desk in here?" Her index finger tapping her red lips while her head swirling around in an attempt to find it by herself. Her wavy hair waving following her body beat.

Ikrar was shocked for the second time. The biggest table?

"Is that desk the biggest yet?" She pointed at the edge of the table that was visible amongst the many huge shelves far from them on her left side.

Ikrar took a look at the pointed area, he was a bit alarmed. "Yes, My Lady. It was indeed the biggest yet…" He trailed away.

"But?"

"We put maps on it. It's not suitable for our lesson."

Map? Perfect.

"Okay. I choose that table. Let's go." She beamed. Started to walk to the table, coincidentally Emily joined her at the right time. She ushered Emily towards the same table and Emily complied without asking.

Ikrar towed behind her helplessly. He could not understand what possibly the lady wanted. It turned out he could not read the young lady at all. What's so good about the map? Unless she was planning something big. What was it?

"This is the notebook, My Lady." Emily put the notebook and the pen side by side on the table before she dragged the soft chair backward and pushed it back after Elizebeth got on her knees on the chair.

"Thank you, Emily." She winked at her.

"It's my job, My Lady." Emily couldn't control her happiness and blush.

Ikrar was so dumbfounded. It was his first time to see the usual angelic lady, showing her affection in open. Her treatment towards the people around her was viewed as professional and lovely. He never saw the cutesy act at all. Lovely maybe, but mischievous and cute never.

"So sir Ikrar. Mind to share with us your limitless knowledge?" She went straight down to business. It was coated with praise and envious.

A gentle smile could be seen on Elizebeth's face. A prideful man quickly strode towards him hearing the biased praise. He knew his knowledge was still limited, yet the lady knew how to uplift his mood. It was indeed a lovely day today.

"What does our lovely lady want to know?" Ikrar attended to her as friendly as possible. It was his first time meeting a very friendly student. All his brothers were so brute. They never cared about his feelings and only taunted him as much as they wanted. Inwards, he wiped away the imaginary tears.

Elizebeth smiled, she put her index finger on her lips and seemed to ponder something. Her lovely forehead wrinkled unintentionally, yet instead looked unsightly, she was pretty regardless. Ikrar waited in a pounding heart. It was indeed a lovely day. This was his first student who was seriously pondering about a subject she wanted to know through him.

She thought of something. Weighing all the questions because a mischievous smile was forming slowly. Emily just stood behind her in nervousness. She knew her young lady was up to something peculiar again.

"Yes?" Asked Ikrar happily when their gazes coincidentally met.

"Sir Ikrar." The smiling voice called him.

"Yes, My Lady." Ikrar quickly answered him. Smile happily.

"Are you sure you want to share your limitless knowledge with me?"

Ikrar nodded without a second thought. "Of course. Just ask anything."

"Anything?" The stretched of her lips getting bigger, only Ikrar didn't see it.

"Yes, My Lady. Anything."

Oho. She sang a ceremony song inside her heart. "Then…"

"Yes. Anything."

"I want to know everything about the Kingdom and everything around it. Including the neighboring Kingdoms."

"Yes?" His white skin became pale in an instant.

"Yes." She nodded as if she didn't say anything wrong. Well to her, is not. Not to others. It was unusual for the lady to take interest in the Kingdom inside and outside. It was a peculiar request. Exactly what Emily was feared for.

"Yes?" Ikrar looked like he had a hearing problem. Refused to see reality.

Elizebeth shut her mouth then. Starting to frown. "Do you want to break our promise?"

"Pro- promise… Young lady…" Ikrar becomes even paler.

"You need to teach me everything." She said cutely despite the pale expression of his newly appointed teacher. "Or I will tell my father that you refuse me."

It was blackmail. She knew. She felt so guilty using her father freely but she had to do it. Her life at the stake here. She couldn't do anything and cried over the spilled milk later. The dream was too real to stay a dream. It must be something inside the dream. She needed to find the clue and rearranged it.

To do so, she needed as much knowledge regarding the Kingdom in and out. Possibly, living legends like mythical creatures or anything. She had to know everything.

"Young lady…" Ikrar almost slumped all four on the floor. Weeping. Turned out the youngest was as worse as her brothers and father. Or maybe worse than them.

Hi, songbird,

At that time, noblewomen, girls didn't encourage to learn about the welfare of the kingdom. Bearing and caring for the children were their ultimate goal.
