Magic Circuits and the Lamit Language

A magic circuit is something in a person that helps them channel, gather, and control mana. While everyone can theoretically learn how to do all that without a magic circuit, it is exponentially harder to do it without a magic circuit.

However, not everyone develops one as they grow up. Those who do end up developing a magic circuit usually do start to do so around the age of ten years old, while those who are incredibly magically inclined might develop between the ages of six and eight.

These were the reasons why most magical institutions open their doors to children, usually starting at fifteen years old, since it takes around five years for the circuits to reach close to maturity once they start developing a magic circuit.

A magic circuit also usually appeared earlier with people who were more sensitive to mana, which is why it was considered a talent to develop a few years earlier than normal. Even in prestigious families, heirs who started developing at the age of eight were already hailed as potential geniuses.

This was precisely why when Raymond said that Raz had already started developing his magic circuit, William's mouth was hanging wide open, while even Fay had to sit down due to the sheer shock of the revelation.

After a minute, with his jaw hitting the ground, William dumbfoundedly stuttered, "Father, are you sure you saw it correctly? If Raz really is developing his magic circuit at this age. He'll be able to start controlling mana before he's even seven and be the youngest person to develop their magic circuit in the kingdom! No, maybe even the continent!"

Still speechless, Raymond pinched himself but remained absolutely in shock as he said with an awestruck tone, "It's unmistakable. He has really started developing his magic circuit at barely a year old. Way younger than that arrogant court mage for the king. Do you know what that means, my son?"

"He's a natural-born genius! Who's fated to become at least a Magus!" they both said as they essentially started to skip and dance together while locking arms in joy.

As Raz watched this all happen with amusement, he could only attribute his incredibly early development of magic circuits due to his body cultivation technique that made him stronger and develop faster physically, but even then, he wasn't completely sure.

Watching his dad and grandpa skip around like little girls made Raze chuckle as a gentle and warm feeling bloomed from within him.

After a few more moments of celebration, Raymond turned serious as he faced William he sternly warned them, "Remember to try to keep this under wraps. Even though I have solidified my authority as Patriarch of the Alden Clan, the elders still hold a grudge towards your marriage between yourself and Fay. If they learn that your child has a great future ahead of him, they might try something, and I can't do anything without proof. In fact, that old man who was with me is sure to be a spy and informant for the elders."

William's face turned ugly as he heard his father's words and, with a hint of anger, voiced, "Don't worry, I'll be careful, Father."

"Good. I'll be sure to send as much support as I can without drawing too much attention. Be sure to be on the lookout for my shadows. They'll deliver the messages and sort out everything. Now I must depart, or it'll be too suspicious. Take care, son, and make sure you teach Raz properly!" Raymond expressed before the magic barrier that kept any noise from escaping suddenly dissipated with a snap of his fingers before he walked out of the room.

William recast the magic circle and watched as Raymond entered his carriage to leave the mansion before he breathed a sigh of relief.

Then his head turned around almost like a demon before he ran comically fast in a flurry of steps to scoop up Raz as he yelled in excitement, "HAHAHA A GENIUS! PRAISE THE GODS! Of course, my son is a genius. He takes after his father, doesn't he, Fay?"

As he said this, he began to twirl in a circle with Raz which made Raz completely disoriented. Looking at the spectacle, Fay started adorably giggling with her hand covering her mouth.

While she was giggling, Fay agreed while laughing, "He really does."

She could only agree with her husband, but William actually started developing his magic circuit at the age of eight, which was considered incredibly talented. However, it was nothing compared to Raz's potential, but she went with it anyway, as the moment was too adorable.

Normally Raz would also appreciate the moment, but he was on the verge of throwing up as he was being spun in a circle by his father.

Trying to reason with his father, Raz barely muttered as he was wide-eyed. "Too dizzy, might thr—"

Before he got the final word out, a greenish liquid spewed out onto William, who had a horrified face, while Fay couldn't stop giggling at the sight.

It was truly a sight to remember.

The day after Raymond's visit during the afternoon. Raz sat in his room cross-legged as he continued to strengthen his body slowly using the Immotus cultivation technique.

Even after a whole year of using it continuously every day, he had not even passed the initial stage of technique and sighed as it was truly a time-consuming technique, but the rewards would be immeasurable once it advanced.

Sitting in his baby crib, a slight bead of sweat rolled off his brow as he sprawled himself on his back, thinking about how he could start learning more about this world.

Before he knew it, Marisa had opened the door with a gentle creak before she scooped up Raz. "The Lord has called for you. Let us go, young master."

While cradling him, she continued to walk through the mansion into a large room filled with bookshelves that were crammed to the brim with various books and tomes.

Instead of the usual torch or oil-lit lamps that were used throughout the castle, there was a strange rock that glowed with various baby blue runes that constantly emitted light like a flashlight.

A large bay window also brought in natural light onto a huge wooden desk located towards the back of the room. Sitting in the main chair of the table was none other than William, who seemed to be reading through a stack of parchment paper as he muttered to himself constantly.

Marisa knocked lightly on the open door of the room, and William looked up from his reading to see the pair before he smiled and expressed, "Ah, Marisa, set Raz in the chair in front of me and close the door. Thanks."

Doing exactly that, Raz was laid on top of a chair that resembled more of a one-person sofa as the chair itself seemed to be crafted using expensive and comfortable materials while the back of it stretched far past his current pathetic height.

"Take care, my Lord." Marisa admired as she bowed before she walked out of the room while slowly closing the door with a soft thud.

Seeing Marisa leave, William said something in an unidentifiable language that suddenly covered the room in a spell identical to the one Raymond used.

Once he finished casting the spell, he turned his attention to Raz again, who had saucers for eyes as he looked at the spell William had just cast.

Seeing the curiosity of his son, William laughed before he sated Raz's curiosity by expressing, "I just used the Lamit language to help aid me in casting a barrier of silence that makes it almost impossible for sound to leave the room and anyone to eavesdrop. One can never be too cautious, son."

Raising his hand, Raz inquired, "Father, what is the Lamit language?"

"Good question," William began as he stood up from his chair to walk towards a bookshelf nearby.

He started to read the writing on the various spines of the thick books and tomes before he took a particularly thick and old book made with some sort of animal skin wrapping the parchment.

Dropping the book on the table, it made an audibly loud clunk as it hit the wooden table with quite a force while uplifting some dust off the cover of the book.

"The Lamit language is an ancient language that is universally taught to all Magus or potential Magus. Its roots are unknown, to be exact, but the earliest traces of the language is when the first Magus appeared on this continent. Almost everything relating to the Magus is usually done via this language which is why it is a must-know thing", William taught as he pushed the book toward Raz.

Raz looked at the giant book in front of him and asked, "Can I read this?"

Laughing like he heard the funniest joke, William announced, "Not only that book, but any books on these bookshelves are now available to you. That's because starting today, I am personally going to tutor you from everything about the world to information about magic!"
