Running - Searching For Her

Writer's POV

"Carmen didn't show up for sometime, seems like she gave up." Vida muttered softly, her voice showed clearly that she was amped. That could only result to her thinking that she would be thw Luna soon.

"Of course, that's a good news. But how are we going to resolve Khan's angry mood?" Cherry asked with a worried face, she was pretty shocked to see Vida rejoiced happily.

Vida smirked. "I'm less concerned about that. Everything would surely work in my plan, she would want to flee and in the process of her trying to escape, the poison I inserted into her would consume her whole vital system." She explained thoroughly, but Cherry hadn't been hundred percent convinced that the plan was going to glide smoothly.

"I know you are worried about Khan the most. I know how to tame him, I know him better than anyone." She assured Cherry as she cupped her left cheek with her right hand. "I have to check on the Luna." She smirked when she remembered she was going to be a Luna soon.

After viewing sideways making sure no one was around to spy on the conversation she was about to make with the Luna, she walked in a majestic manner.

The Luna, Naomi, noticed Vida's manner. She knew the thought of becoming the next Luna had overwhelmed her. "You're amped up even when the commencement of the installation day hasn't been fully verified." The Luna spoke diligently after studying the facial expression of her future daughter in-law.

Vida could not help but blushed. "Of course, mother. But I didn't come to discuss about, I have a very important matter which could stop the installment from been commencing." Vida's facial expression changed, as she stated the pre topic of why she was in her room.

The Luna's facial expression also changed, when she heard 'which could stop the installment from been commencing'. "Really? Did something happened?" She asked worriedly.

"I'm sure you are well aware that Khan had found her mate. But now, her destined mate is carrying Khan's baby in her womb, my initial plan is to eliminate her." Vida was so straightforward, she was bold at each word she spoke.

"Eliminate? Should we really make her extinct?" She asked still thinking of the best way to eliminate her. "No, I won't go for that." She said again after thinking twice.

Vida could not distinguish her words, but she sounded so agitated.

"I don't wanna say this, but I poisoned her already. The poison I gave her won't be get rid of easily, it is chronic." She muttered with delight in her voice, she was very chuffed. Naomi stared at her scornfully, but she tried hard not to make Vida notice it.

"What type of poison did you use on her?" Naomi asked calmly, she lowered her voice trying to fight back against what her heart wanted her to say.

Vida noticed the change in Naomi's expression. "It's not a poison that would kill her, it would just weaken her for some time, at least till the installment day is over." Vida lied not wanting to get on the Luna's nerves.

"Oh, that's pretty better, do you any other way to keep her away till the day is over? So that Khan won't get to her." She inquired. She poured a coffee into a cup, and sipped little out it to suppress her arousing temperature.

"Let's keep her in a dungeon, or a far confined building." Vida suggested, but it all sounded rubbishy to the ears of Naomi.

"It's cruel to keep animals in a confined dungeon not to talk of a human being, a pregnant woman to be precise." Naomi voiced out shaking her head, she was a little pissed off that Vida had no pity.

"Then how can we do it? Please help me, how can I make Khan not ever look towards her anymore?" She asked as tears cascaded from her eyeballs, it was almost obvious that she was forcing the tears out.

"Calm down, I also want that but do you have a plan? But we will carry it out after she gives birth." Naomi had no choice than to comply, Vida rose up immediately and cleaned up her tears, she held the hem of the Luna's gown.

"How about we do this? I can make her cross the boundary of the law, she will have to be punished by receiving fifty lashes beneath her feet, I bet she would have no choice than to have her foot amputated." She explained wishing Naomi was pleased with this devilish idea of hers.

"Let's just go with that." Naomi closed up the chapter, even though she wasn't okay with her inhumane idea.

Nina entered the room, Carmen saw some men standing outside.

"Where are you coming? What the hell did you do Nina?" Carmen asked angrily, her voice showed how angry and sad she was.

"What could I do? I'm sure Vida is planning a way to murder you, Khan is the only one who can protect you" Nina fired back trying to make her point clear, but it all sounds like gibberish to Carmen.

The two wolf warriors whom were staying outside came in, and took her to the pack hall. She was not supporting the idea, she had already made her plan to flee and stay alone forever.

<PACK HOUSE>

Vida ran to Khan's room, she staggered along the road and fell, but she stood up back. She held her tears which was threatening to fall, at least she wanted them to flow out when she's standing before Khan.

"And what do I pay this visit?" Khan asked rhetorically with a frown, he sat down on a stool. He was wearing just a blue jean, with no shirt on.

"I heard you ordered Carmen to be brought to you. You promised me to cut your ties with her." She shouted angrily, the tears she had been holding rushed out with no control.

"Yeah, I called for her. What's wrong with that?" As soon as he spoke, the door creaked, Carmen walked in slowly and gently.

"And here comes the mate of the great Khan of dark moon pack." Khan spoke with a thick voice, he smiled loudly which was audible.

"If anything happens to her ever again, you would have to bear the brunt of your misdemeanour." He growled facing Vida with his face dark and rough. "You know I can't leave you, my honesty towards you can never be called in question! So don't use that as an excuse to hurt her." He spoke with command and authority, Vida's heart banged as a result of fear.

"I have prayed consistently to the moon goddess for me to meet my mate, I didn't know I would end up like this. Why don't you just free me?" Carmen requested with tears flowing down her cheeks. "I know you don't want me, you only want to exploit me. You want my baby, nothing more." Carmen spoke angrily, pouring down the words in that table of her heart.

"What if I want you too? Would you accept me wholeheartedly?" Khan asked with a calm voice. While they were still discussing, hullabaloo was heard from outside the pack house.

Khan and Vida went out leaving Carmen behind. Vida was chuffed to hear what the people chorused outside.

"We don't want an omega to be the Luna! We don't want the son of an omega to rule the pack!" The people chorused continuously.

Khan turned over, he grabbed Vida's neck and hit her against the wall. "Look deeply into my eyeballs and tell me this is not part of your doing." He growled, Vida couldn't speak due to Khan's strong hand strangling her neck.

"Ple... Please --- " She managed to speak, Khan removed his hand and she fell down weakly.

"Bitch!" He cussed and walked away from her, he headed to the Luna's room.

LUNA'S ROOM

"Don't tell me you're the one endorsing Vida." He said calmly, his mother was confused and clueless of what he was talking about.

"I don't know what you're talking about, but I am sure I'm not involved in anything you're instituting." Naomi replied, she shifted a metre back, of course she was scared of her son.

"You told everyone that my mate is a weak omega, and she's pregnant for me! Didn't you?" He asked angrily, he moved closer to his mother, her heart pounded heavily.

"She's innocent, I planned it alone." Vida cut into there discussion, Naomi felt relived.

"If you go forward than this, I don't know what I can do to you!" He snapped and moved out angrily.

"Gosh, I almost fainted." The Luna whispered with a smile. She breathed in and out heavily.

"I'm sorry I came late." Vida apologized as she got close towards the Luna whom was still trying to catch her breath. "The next step commences tonight, I'll prepare a way to make her go down." Vida whispered avoiding anyone to hear what she was saying.

"What?!!! We just got out of this mess, and you are already planning to get into another one." Naomi exclaimed surprisingly. "Khan would surely retrieve her back." She added with a slight frown shown visibly on her face.

"Don't worry, I'll be careful not to drag you into it. But if we don't so it tonight, when would we be able to process it? The Alpha is coming back tomorrow." She asked rhetorically, Naomi was confused and knew nothing she had to say. "Besides, I'll prepare a drink for Khan to drink, in case this later results to him looking for her, he would surely doze off in the process." Visa assured her with a smirk.

"Okay, just get it down before tomorrow." She mumbled and went to lay her bed.

Carmen was fixed to stay in one of the guest room, while she was packing her clothes, Nina came in.

"Wow, what a beautiful room!" Nina exclaimed with a chuckle. "So how are you planning the escape method with Vida? Or aren't you trying to elope anymore?" Nina asked, she turned round trying to view the whole beauty of the room which seemed impossible.

"We are still on the plan, she said she would come here herself when the road seems clear." Carmen replied, she yawned as she continued with the packing. Nina also joined her in packing the clothes.

"That's pretty --- " Nina stopped talking when she heard the sound of the creak of the door. Cherry came in, she place her first finger on her lips indicating that both of them should keep quiet.

"Is the time ready for us to depart?" Carmen asked excitedly, but deep inside she was afraid of getting caught. Cherry nodded positively and led them to where Vida was waiting for them.

Carmen stood immobile staring at Khan's room one last time. "Mate." She whispered softly, her voice was inaudible so no one heard her.

They walked down the pack house, Vida walked them to the middle of the road.

"I'm sure you can walk the rest all by yourself, even if someone alerts Khan, I'll send a bird tied to a stone to you, and I'll make sure I show up to endorse you out of this pack." Vida said with a smirk. She hugged Carmen and faked a smile, then she returned to the pack house with Cherry.

"Get on the cart and take me to where you took her to." Khan growled as soon as Vida entered the house.

"Khan, let her be, she chose this way herself, I didn't force her." Vida spoke with full seriousness, but Khan wasn't ready to listen to any of her bullshit.

"Don't make me repeat myself." Khan said trying hard not to hit her.

"I don't know where she is, I followed her to a particular path in the forest, I can take you there if you want." Vida decided to mislead him.

"Charge all the warriors to guide the gates, even a rat must not leave this pack tonight. Every lady you see who's on the run should be brought here immediately." He commanded, one of the guard behind him went to ring both the bell and the drum to alert all the wolf warriors.

All the warriors dispatched looking for Carmen, they checked the road while Khan rummage the forest, he was checking every nook and cranny of the forest.

Carmen ran as fast as her legs could carry her, Nina was also running but she was far behind Carmen.

They both saw a hill in front of them, Nina was scared but Carmen glide through the hill smoothly, thanks to the wet leaves grown on the hills rock.

"Shit." Nina cussed, she had no choice. She closed her eyes and jumped. As they land they saw a bird with a rope tied with stone beneath it.

"Isn't that the sign Vida promised to send? I think Khan is already coming for you." Nina muttered with fear invading her weak heart. It was obvious that Carmen was scared, her eyes were soaked with tears in them.

"Even if I'll have to die in a dungeon or in this wilderness, he won't even try to kill me since I haven't given birth. But if do, I would rather commit suicide and also murder my babies with me." Carmen grunted as she removed the sharp stick that struck her foot.

"Don't speak like that, we aren't getting caught, we would both leave this pack whether Khan loves it or not, please don't give up." Nina encouraged her which worked a little. They returned to there running.

Khan ran as fast as he could with the horse he was riding. Vida and the other warriors were also on there horses behind him.

Vida thought he was just guessing on where to go, but Khan wasn't trailing the footsteps of Carmen even though it was faint and hard to see.

In no time, he saw them afar across the hill, they were so far that they were already fading slowly. He got down from his horse and flew down the hill, he sighted them again, he smirked evilly.

He ran after them, Vida tried to follow him but the warriors stopped her from moving an inch.

She spoke calmly knowing Khan can never get to catch up with her. "Khan must have ordered you to stop me." She sighed heavily, fears protruded her heart slowly even though she was sure hat the poison she gave him would start working soon.

Looking at Khan from afar, they could noticed that he waited trying to get something out of his head. "Game Over Dear!" Vida smiled wickedly as she whispered which was only audible to the guards around her.

Carmen turned back and saw her mate fighting with his head, she didn't know what the matter really was but she was pretty sure that it was the handwork of Vida.
