Prince Qui did not know what he was supposed to be feeling. While he was taking the small steps on the staircase, he had already the rush of the footsteps coming from the right hallway.
As he reached the landing, he saw that it was actually Tianshi Xue. Her dress was huge but seemed light enough that she was able to run at that speed. Her chest was heaving. He avoided looking at it as the mounds looked more prominent with the top that she was wearing.
He was surprised. More because he did not expect that she would be welcoming him home. He had always went straight to his father whenever he got back. And yet here was his wife, demanding that he should've saw her first before the highest ranked official in their empire.
The nerve, he almost laughed.
He could not believe that she was really there that he flicked her cheek to make sure that she was not a part of his hallucination from the heat.
