Chapter 20: Impel Down: The Beast Hell

Sure, here is your chapter with corrected grammar and punctuation:

---

As they entered the second level of Impel Down, Yash encountered a small, cute hippo about two feet tall.

"So cute," said Yash as he tried to carefully pat its head.

"Be careful!" Buggy warned Yash just in time as the small, cute hippo tried to bite off Yash's hand.

"That was close," Yash sighed. "Is this what you call a beast?"

"They don't look like beasts to me!" said Luffy.

"You're right. They're definitely less scary than what I heard," Buggy exclaimed.

The small, cute hippo jumped at them with tremendous speed. Everyone dodged just in the nick of time.

"What the hell?" Yash exclaimed. "Gum-Gum Pistol!" Luffy quickly subdued the small animal.

"Let's keep moving. We don't have time," Luffy urged as he started to run down the corridor.

Yash followed him, but Buggy seemed hesitant before following behind them. As they ran through the cell area, Yash and the others encountered a praying mantis with blade-like claws.

"Whoa! This is certainly bigger than a normal mantis," said Luffy as he stood in front of a seven-foot-tall praying mantis.

The praying mantis, without wasting time, started to attack them with swings of its blade-like claws.

Luffy quickly used Buggy as a shield.

"DAMN YOU! DON'T USE ME AS A SHIELD!" Buggy yelled at Luffy before quickly reassembling himself.

The praying mantis then displayed a series of slices and swings of its blades as a show of dominance, but its blade got stuck in the floor, making it unable to move.

"What should we do with it?" asked Yash.

"Should we...?" said Buggy.

"Let's just keep going," said Luffy before everyone started to walk past the stuck praying mantis.

"Yeah, let's go," Buggy agreed.

As they kept moving down the hallway, Luffy complained, "This is a total disappointment. I thought there would be fearsome beasts on this level."

"Luffy! Don't forget why we are here!" Yash reminded him.

"Yeah, Straw Hat! Don't forget why I am risking my life here," Buggy complained.

The whole floor began to shake, and the ceiling started to crack, with small pebbles falling at first and later larger pieces of debris. The ceiling cracked open, and a gigantic snake born from a chicken appeared. It was a feathered mutant that possessed traits of both a snake and a chicken.

"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?" Mohji yelled.

"A beast from hell?" Buggy exclaimed. "That's a Basilisk. It's really powerful. Let's run!"

The Basilisk launched itself toward Yash and the others as they started to run.

"KHEEEEAAAAKKKKK," shrieked the Basilisk as it performed a powerful peck attack towards Yash, causing him to be thrown away from the group.

"YASH!" Luffy exclaimed as he saw Yash lying injured in the corner of the hall.

"Keep going, Luffy. I will be fine," Yash said. "Save your brother. Trust me, I will be fine."

"Make sure to be safe," said Luffy as he continued his escape from the gigantic snake-chicken mutant with Buggy and the others.

Yash, gravely injured, had a bleeding leg and another swollen one. His head had hit the floor, causing dizziness. He quickly tore off his shirt to wrap around the wound on his leg to stop the bleeding.

"This is the Beast Hell of Impel Down, huh?" Yash exclaimed to himself.

"Sa...ve me..."

"Get me out of here..."

"It hurts..."

"Please help... me..."

Yash turned his head to look around to see where these voices were coming from. "Where are you? Tell me, otherwise I can't help," Yash asked, but there were no replies. All he saw was the dark and creepy corridor of the prison.

"Save me..."

"I want to see my daughter..."

"I didn't... kill anyone..."

Many voices started to echo in the corridor, but nothing could be seen, until a tiny figure started to approach Yash from a distance.

"Are you alright?" Yash asked. 'Damn, my leg hurts.'

The figure's large head became visible, revealing a pale and weird face with signs of hunger.

"Are you hungry?" Yash asked. "Of course you are. There isn't any good treatment in the prison, after all." As Yash closed his eyes for a second, he began to think, 'His voice didn't carry any lies. I have experience in this matter. I can tell that voice is of a nice man.'

The figure started to enlarge, revealing the big head of a man's body. Hairy fur and four legs with lion-like features were revealed.

"HAH!" Yash gasped in shock and horror. The head of a man and the body of a lion spoke things he had heard others say in prison before. Manticores are man-eating lions with human faces; they devour their prey entirely, including the bones.

"What the hell are you?" Many thoughts ran through Yash's head before many more Manticores slowly arrived behind the first one.

Slowly approaching, Yash started to back away only to meet a wall blocking his escape.

"Hel..p me..."

"I don't... want... to die."

"I love... my wi...fe..."

"Don't come near me," Yash exclaimed as one Manticore smelled Yash's bleeding leg before chewing on it.

"AAAAAHHHHH!" Yash yelled in pain, smashing his hands against the head of the man with the body of the lion.

The Manticore fainted near Yash, and thankfully no permanent damage was done, but that wasn't the only Manticore there.

Others watched Yash. How many were there? 100? 500? Yash didn't know. He quickly got up and started to run away, only to trip on his injured leg.

"Damn it. This is why this place is called Beast Hell." Yash managed to get up again and walk, his face filled with pain and horror as he realized what was going on.

"These beasts are playing with me. They want to torture me to death."

With their mouths filled with saliva, the Manticores watched Yash bleed and suffer, before slowly approaching him.

Before they could get to Yash, a hand grabbed him and pulled him inside a room.
