Megumi rolled around exaggeratedly on the grassy field inside his mindscape as Sakura lightly touched him with her feet.
"What are you doing?" Sakura asked blandly as Megumi lay on the floor pasted splat like a cartoon character.
"It's not what I am doing! It's what I am not doing!" Megumi replied cryptically as he rolled and got back under Sakura's feet once again.
Sakura looked down at Megumi with a strange look and decided to entertain him a little, "Fine, what are you not doing?"
"I'm not learning the Spirit transformation technique."
"And why is that?"
Megumi thought back to the evening when he was attempting to learn the Spirit transformation technique that he had copied from the Scroll of Seals.
'Hmm..this is an easy technique.' Megumi mused as he read through the information about the jutsu that was inside his head.
'But simultaneously, it is hard for me to do.'
Megumi read through the scroll once again to see if he'd missed any details that might allow him to perform the Jutsu more easily.
"The Spirit transformation technique is a jutsu that allows the user to separate their spirit body from their physical body without any destruction to either of them."
Megumi continued reading.
"To perform such a jutsu, one must first understand the relation between the body and spirit."
"The body is just a container for the spirit. They are bound together due to the property of a tenketsu. So if one turns off the functioning of this tenketsu, they can move freely out of their container."
The scroll then went into the details of how to turn off the tenketsu so that one could separate from their body and also how one could reactivate it so that they could pick up their body.
"So if it's so easy why aren't you learning it?" Sakura asked with a puzzled expression.
"Because it's not just me!"
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"I'm inherently tied to you! So if I want to go out of my body, you have to go out of yours too! Or else I'll end up dragged into your body! Like you were in mine before!"
"...fine then, you just want me to learn the Jutsu with you?"
"Yes!" Megumi finally energetic, stood up and looked at Sakura with an expectant look like a kid getting rewarded with candy for finishing his homework.
"Sure. I'll learn it with you, but how are you going to do it once I become a spy in Hagoromo's pet group?"
"I'll figure something out then don't worry! For now, let's do this!"
"Uff. Fine." Sakura was tired from working in the store from early in the morning.
But for now, she agreed to work with Megumi and entertain his ideas since he usually came up with random things that eventually worked out in the end.
In another part of the world, Tsunade stopped outside the gates of a royal city.
The capital city of the Fire Nation.
"Let's see if what Megumi told me holds any truth to it." Tsunade wondered taking a step toward the entrance of the capital city.
Entering the VIP line, it was soon Tsunade's turn as Shizune pulled out all her papers and handed them over to the guard in front of them.
The guard did not fail to recognise Tsunade immediately stamped the papers and handed them back to Shizune while Tsunade propped up her eyebrows.
"Not going to check if I'm a transformation?" Tsunade asked.
"The Minister is expecting you!" The guard humbly bowed deeply as he stepped back and let Tsunade pass through the entrance to the capital city.
Tsunade nodded and moved into the royal capital as a guide attached himself to the duo of Tsunade and Shizune as he introduced himself.
"My name is Hiroto. I have been sent to guide you while you stay in the capital for the next few days."
"Are you here for the matter regarding the Haruno store?" The guide asked Tsunade and she nodded slightly. "Yes, we are here regarding setting up a new store in the capital."
Tsunade decided to inform the guide because she knew he would blabber about it to the other retainers in the court which would, in the end, help her speed up the paperwork regarding the acquisition of land and other such things without any errors or usual delays.
It was a win-win situation.
The guide got gossip material and Tsunade got work convenience, something she was very grateful for since she hated dealing with paperwork.
They walked through the city and arrived at the most venerated-looking store in the entire city.
Golden dragons lined the roof and golden lions stood guard on either side of the door while a colourful assortment of paintings lined the walls.
Bold words lined the top of the store as they hung from the entended portion of the tiled roof of the first floor.
"Madame Shinji's Tea Room."
As soon as Tsunade, Shizune and the guide arrived at the store, the door was opened and a dolled-up woman slid open the door slowly and once it was fully opened, bowed deeply and invited Tsunade in silence.
The glowing lamps that flickered under the new drafts of wind that had been created caused the golden ornaments on the door and the store itself to shimmer as Tsunade took her first step in along with Shizune.
"I will be leaving then Tsunade-sama." The guide bowed deeply as Tsunade walked past him.
Before he left, Tsunade turned around and spoke to him one last time, "I will be ready by eight in the morning tomorrow."
"I understand."
The woman closed the door behind Tsunade as they were guided to their rooms on the first floor.
"*sigh* what a tiring day.", Tsunade mumbled as she relaxed into Shizune's massage of her shoulders.
"Mom! We only ran a few hundred kilometres! How did you get tired so quickly?! Are you alright!?"
"Ha! Shizune! I'm not talking about physical tiredness! How can I get physically tired!? No, I'm talking about tomorrow."
"You mean dealing with the Minister?"
"Yes! The minister! I hope the information Megumi gave us is accurate, or we'll only be making a fool of ourselves during the meeting tomorrow."
"Megumi nii-san wouldn't be wrong! He's always right!"
"But can you believe it!?"
"Although a little hard to believe, I think they must be doing it so that the forces of the village weaken. If there is no requirement to use chakra like joining the shinobi army force, a lot more people will move to the capital."
"That's the troubling thing isn't it!?"
"Troubling? How Mom?"
"If more people start moving to the capital, the village will naturally weaken."
"But didn't Megumi nii say such a thing wouldn't happen?"
"I don't know. I think I understand where he's coming from when he says that all the clans will still remain in the village and people will still come to the village to learn more in depth knowledge about jutsus and sealing, but it all seems a bit outlandish."
"Why?"
"Why would the average citizen care about how jutsu work as long as they can use the jutsu? Or why would the average citizen care how seals work if they can use the seals. It just feels a little risky."
"But Megumi nii said on his continent people used to pursue higher and higher forms of knowledge the most!"
"Although it might be true, I don't think such a thing will happen with us."
"Hmpf. Megumi nii is always right! You'll see!"
"Shizune! You're my daughter!"
"But I'm also Megumi nii's little sister!"
Shizune huffed cutely as Tsunade deadpanned and made a mental note not to allow Shizune to spend time with Megumi so often.
In another part of the world, Orochimaru looked at Jiraya who was in front of him.
"I didn't know you'd finally arrive in our midst." Orochimaru commented.
"As soon as I realised that my disciple killed our Sensei, I immediately understood I had to make up for my mistake."
"And how are you planning on doing that?" Orochimaru questioned while the rest of the Akatsuki watched.
"With the help of this.", Jiraya said throwing a storage seal at Orochimaru after infusing it with a little chakra to act as a throwing card.
Orochimaru grabbed the seal without hesitation and looked at Jiraya with a puzzled expression.
"What'ssss~ in it?" Orochimaru asked excited at the prospect of receiving a gift from his friend.
"You'll know as soon as you open it." Jiraya nodded and Orochimaru looked at Hagoromo who was standing opposite to him.
Hagoromo nodded without worry, knowing Orochimaru was asking him if this was a trap.
"You can open it.", Harogomo said.
And under everyone's focused gaze, Orochimaru summoned the item inside the seal, only to find a lime green scroll with green end cap accents.
"Oh? What's this?" Obito asked, "Is it Master Jiraya's new Icha Icha Paradise book's manuscript?!"
But Orochimaru the recipient of the gift was shell-shocked.
"How did you get this!?" Orochimaru asked with shock apparent in his tone.
"I stole it, how else?" Jiraya exclaimed while Orochimaru looked on at the scroll with wide eyes.
Obito broke the mysterious silence that ensued as Orochimaru looked at the scroll with a chilling expression.
"What's this!?" Obito asked posing like a child.
"It's the Scroll of Seals. The scroll that contains every kinjutsu in Konoha!"
The words brought a stunned silence among all the members of the Akatsuki leaving everyone with hanging mouths, especially Hagoromo who had not predicted such a thing.
A smirk came on Jiraya's face as he looked at the expression of the members of the Akatsuki.
'I haven't seen them so shocked ever before while I was tailing each one of them to gain information about their abilities. But a simple scroll made them so shocked. Ha! Minato did a good job by outsmarting the foolish future-seeing old man.'
"By the way Megi, if the Scroll of Seals is with you, what is with Jiraya-sama?"
"Eh. I copied the original. So the original is still with him. Except I made small changes to a few important jutsus so that a few of them will have backdoors for me to exploit if they are used against me."
"What!?"
"Yeah, it was rather easy to do so, like the Reanimation jutsu, I added a backdoor to push out the souls that were trapped in the body, and were being used against their wills."
"But how!? Do you even know how the reanimation jutsu works!?"
"No, not really. I just barely glanced over it. I just added the stuff to it from the Spirit Transformation Technique to it."
"What if Orochimaru or someone finds the backdoor in it!?"
"True. Then it would be useless. But I doubt they're going to check for such a thing."
"How could they not!? They'll obviously be skeptical of Jiraya!"
"Eh, to check for a backdoor they need to break down the jutsu fully and study it religiously. But I doubt Hagoromo will give them the time to do that given how eager he is to start wars."
"So it's a one trick pony?"
"It is, but if I use the trick at the right time, it will be awesome."
"Right time?"
"Imagine Madara's body being used, only for the soul in it to be kicked back to pure land."
Sakura's eyes widened as she shivered a little at the prospect.
"You can do that!?"
"That's what a backdoor is." Megumi nodded.
A dangerous smile grew on Sakura's face as she bent over and kissed Megumi who was sitting.
"That's for the good work you're doing. Good job."
"Haha~ I know~ I'm a genius! Now let's learn the Spirit Transformation Technique! I can't wait to get my hands into the spirit world in some way!"
"Sure, sure!"
Megumi and Sakura then went back to studying the scroll that Megumi had copied and began learning the Spirit Transformation Technique so that Megumi could carry out further experiments with what he dubbed the 'spirit world.'
