Planning For A Trap.

"What do you mean Danzo? Who's Danzo?" Megumi asked acting oblivious. "Should I know him?"

"Well being part of the Haruno store, I would guess you do, since he keeps obstructing your business, but perhaps you've been left out of the loop." Minato filled in.

"He does?" Megumi asked and looked at Tsunade to see how he should react to this news.

"Yes he does, he's been recently launching a lot of attacks on the store employees and shinobi that form the delivery chain of the store." Tsunade nodded to show consent for Megumi to recognise the situation.

"I understand." Megumi agreed, and looked at Minato, "If that's the case, then I think there's a better person to accompany your team on this mission."

"Oh? Who would that be?"

"Sakura, my fiancee. She's definitely knowledgeable about the situation and hates Danzo more than me."

"That might be the case and we could add her to the mission if you wish, but we still need your help.", Minato added leaning back into the chair.

"Why would you specifically need me?"

"Hiraishin.", Minato said a single word like it explained everything.

"But you can also use the Hiraishin, right? Unless it is because you have a plan that secretly needs the use of Hiraishin and needs Danzo to let his guard down before I do whatever you want me to do?"

"I couldn't have given a better analysis of the situation myself." Minato nodded.

"So what is it that you want to do?" Megumi asked with a serious look on his face.

"We've figured out that the Akatsuki, the group that Danzo works as a part of, have developed a technique that allows them to remotely control a puppet body and carry out their missions."

"So?"

"Because such a technique allows them to escape unharmed each time we fight them; We've developed a counter plan." Minato extended an explanation that got Megumi intrigued.

'They figured out a way to work with the Zetsu clones of the group members? How did they do that? Wouldn't that need knowledge of souls? And here I thought the Hokage wouldn't delve into such things because of the Taboo surrounding it. I guess Minato's life was truly cut short in the anime.'

"Minato! You studied the Reanimation jutsu!" Tsunade scorned but Minato sighed and spoke in a tired tone. "Not you Tsunade-sama. I'm sure you know sometimes it is alright to step into a little bit of evil for the greater good."

The line sent a shiver across Megumi's spine as he was reminded of an old man with a long silvery beard and half-moon glasses when Minato said 'For the Greater Good'.

'Although their plan is bound to fail in the first place since Danzo already knows that I use the Hiraishin, there's got to be some other reason I chose to accept this plan and go along with everyone.'

'Perhaps I chose it to give Rura a reason in the future to betray me?'

'Then Rura's participation in this plan is crucial and Hagoromo will make sure that she does.'

'Is that why Danzo pretends to get trapped by me at the end? So that he can leak information about something that causes Rura to betray me?'

'I see. A nice plan, too bad Rura and I trust each other beyond just words.'

Looking into Minato's eyes, Megumi nodded.

"I agree."

"I thought so."

"But you have to give me a look at the scroll of seals."

"How long is this 'look' going to last?"

"About two hours.", Megumi said even though he only needed a few minutes to memorise the entire scroll.

"Two hours is a bit too much. Even I, only had access to the scroll after I became the Hokage. I can only do half 'n hour since if the word spreads out other people will ask for it."

"One and a Half hour."

"Forty-five minutes."

"One hour and fifteen minutes."

"An hour."

"Deal." Megumi nodded at the 'precious' one hour he would have with the scroll.

"We will dish out the plan after your classes at school when the whole team is present.", Minato said nodding at Megumi so he could leave.

"When will the mission occur?" Megumi asked one final question.

"In about a week from now."

"I understand." Megumi shared a nod with Tsunade so she could finish healing Kushina and walked out of the room alone moving back through the same corridors he had arrived from.

'How did the Hokage get the information about Danzo's location in the first place?'

'They had to have a spy who could freely move in and out of the domains that Hagoromo set up at Amegakure and the border of Sunagakure.'

'Who could it be?'

A few minutes later, Megumi was in front of his class door and politely knocked on it to slid it open only to find the same drowsy class he had left behind.

"You may come in." The teacher spoke as Megumi made way toward his seat in the last row.

'Hinata needs to stop staring at me so openly! Did she send me the confession earlier? And why is Gaara staring at me so much? If I hadn't known that he was straight, I would've assumed he loved me too!' Megumi thought as he sat down and relaxed a bit.

"So as I was saying students, sometimes it is best to avoid group fights altogether when you do not have the required materials to sustain the fight."

"The best way to do so is by another core pillar of the shinobi techniques, infiltration."

"Infiltration is a unique method that shinobi use to gain information on their enemies by intercepting plans before they happen."

"This can be done in many ways, one of the most popular ways is by using the Transformation Jutsu. Tiling is another lesser known method among genin but widely used by shinobi of the higher levels."

"During tailing shinobi follow their targets and wait for them to make a mistake so that they slip out information that would've otherwise not been noticed."

"It also helps in cases where there is no package or scroll to be stolen but the target person is carrying the information mentally. You can use the Transformation jutsu and make contact with the target so that you can fish out information."

'Oh! Wait a second. Couldn't they have tailed Kabuto?'

'But he is unlikely to have made any mistakes. And Danzo and Orochimaru wouldn't have chosen Kabuto as the Kage of Yashinokigakure if he was incompetent.'

'So how did they figure things out by tailing him?'

'Did he make a mistake?'

'Or did he do it intentionally?'

'Didn't Orochimaru reveal to him that Danzo caused the death of his orphanage caretaker? Did he make a mistake on purpose because of that?'

'But shouldn't Hagoromo have spotted this using his Toads?'

'Or did he do it on purpose too so that he could plant distrust in Sakura and 'kill' me?'

Meanwhile, far away in Sunagakure in an underground cave.

"Do I really have to get captured?" Danzo grumbled.

"You will get a dozen sharingan if you do."

"How can you be so sure Orochimaru's cloning technique will work?"

"The toads informed me."

"But still, I don't like it. It seems unnecessary, can't I just relay the message you want me to and then escape?"

"No. We need to keep up the act throughout. I will send Tobi to save you. You don't have to worry about that."

"It's not the torture that worries me. I can handle anything if it is to become the Kage of Konoha."

"What then?"

"It's the boy that worries me. He is always up to something. And we've only lost each time we've faced him."

"He'll be gone soon."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes. I'm sure. I had the toads confirm it again. Once he's gone the only way he can come back will be using the Reanimation jutsu."

"Do you plan on Reanimating him?"

"I do. And once we do so we can eliminate him from the fight. We could even turn him against Konoha."

"And what about Kabuto?"

"We can leave him as it is. There's no need to worry about him. They don't know that we know."

"I see." Danzo nodded a little uncomfortable about the upcoming situation but couldn't place his finger on what made him so anxious.

'Is it the boy?'

'Ha! How can I let a brat interfere with my work.'

'I'm sure he'll be gone. Just like the old man claims he will.'

'Maybe he'll be wrong? No, he hasn't been wrong till now.'

'I'm sure it'll work out alright.'

Back in the class, Megumi decided what he was going to do.

'Let's do this instead. I can recruit Kabuto into the SCP organisation and establish a hidden contact line with him. This way during key moments when Hagoromo can use him to feed me misinformation, I can choose to ignore him.'

'This way Hagoromo won't realise that I know that he knows that I don't know.'

'But it is still not Prophecy proof. Those toads can see this if I make some form of physical contact with Kabuto. I need to figure out a way no one will be able to tell that Kabuto is my spy in Hagoromo's organisation.'

'This way I can create a backup spy along with Rura so that when the heat on her is too much, I can reduce it by switching up my informer to Kabuto.'

'Megi!' Sakura shouted inside their mindscape.

'What happened?'

'Teleport me to our east store.'

'An attack again?'

'Yeah! I'm going to kill that Danzo when I get my hands on him! No killing him is too little punishment! I'm going to turn him into my slave if possible!'

'Come back soon! I might have some good news regarding that for you.'

'Oh?'

'Yeah, the Hokage just asked my help for a mission which involves capturing Danzo alive.'

'Your help? Why?'

'It seems he saw me helping using Kushina's prophecy seeing jutsu.'

'I see. Tell me more about it later! Now quickly teleport me!'

'Done.' Megumi said as he teleported Sakura right in the centre of the hidden path through the forest that cut through the Land of Waves.

Megumi rested his chin on his hands as he began to wonder.

'How do I contact everyone from the organization without doing it physically?'

'Kakashi too almost got caught while I teleported the papers about the organization to him.'

'So it is reasonable to have a more intricate method that can allow me to contact them without incurring suspicion.'

'Perhaps they can carve out a communication seal inside their mindscapes?'

'But not everyone is as proficient as Rura and Tsunade that they can carve out the communication seals inside their mindscapes.'

'Then there's also the issue that their communication seals will need to connect to a common communication seal in the organization headquarters.'

'A private way.'

'A private way, how?'

Suddenly Megumi's eyes landed on Sasuke's Uchiha jacket.

"Ah!" Megumi exclaimed out loud, disturbing the flow of the teacher.

"Yes?"

"I'm sorry, that was a mistake." Megumi apologised as he sat back in his seat and thought, 'I can try using the spirit dimension!'

'What if I could communicate directly with their 'souls'!?'

'Maybe I could make a seal like Orochimaru made for the Sage Mode for my Ultimate Sage Mode and then communicate with everyone using some common jutsu that allows us to communicate using our seals?'

'Surely there must be a way!?'

'Or could I use the Shinigami in some way?'

'Perhaps communicated using pure land?'

'I should ask Ashina for advice. I haven't even spoken to him since I returned. I should ask him about it.'

'And can't I move the dome that lets me communicate with him to the SCP organisation?'

'Isn't it an anomaly worthy of safekeeping?'

'HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA! I'm a genius.'

Megumi then spent the next half 'n hour of the class watching Sakura fight the shinobi who had arrived to disrupt their supply chain.

'Won't this problem be solved after Sara distributes the teleportation gadgets among all the shinobi villages?'

'I even have to set up the private teleportation points for my organisation.'

'And I have to learn from Mito baa-san today too.'

'So much work to do. So little time left.'
