Chapter 83 - Exchange (1)

Everyone had found a seat while Shallot had sat next to Velvet. He was using this chance to talk to her more. Yang, Blake, and Ruby could see Shallot and knew that he had set his eyes on someone else but after yesterday they also thought they may need one more. He just didn't ever seem to get tired.

They had to take breaks and use a rotation system with him just because they couldn't keep up with him. He also seemed to know their bodies better than they knew them. Shallot sat next to Velvet and started trying to work on a technique that would take his ki control to the next level.

Shallot was sitting there while making his ki concentrate on his fingers as if he was going to use a finger blast but worked on turning it into a thin piece of thread. It was harder than he thought since it required minuscule works of ki and since it was so small it required more concentration.

While Shallot was sitting next to Velvet's team JNPR was talking to the rest of team RWBYS about the training methods since Pyrrha was the main one that helped with training. Pyrrha wanted input on their training to see if someone had an idea on how to improve it.

Velvet could see what he was doing and was interested. He told her that his semblance was space/time so what was this he was doing.

Velvet: "What are you doing?"

Shallot continued trying to make the thread thinner.

Shallot: "I'm working on the control of my ability so that I can be more efficient with my attacks. It's like using martial arts so you don't have to waste energy on movement. Instead of brute force pushing through you could use less energy with more results. I could help train you after the tournament to become far stronger.

I've trained Blake when we were younger and had her doing certain things even when I wasn't around so she could keep growing stronger."

Velvet was impressed but also curious about the beam that was forming on his finger that was there at first.

Velvet: "What about that light ball that was on your finger when you first started?"

Shallot managed to get the ki small and it started growing slightly like a piece of string.

Shallot: "What was formed was a ki beam."

Velvet: "Ki beam"

Shallot made the strong stretch for 1 cm before stopping feeling if he forces it will turn into a projectile blasting the ship. So after seeing that he couldn't make any more progress he absorbed the ki back into his body.

Shallot: "Ki is the ability to draw your life force from your body out to increase your destructive capabilities. It's how I fought the Gigante Grimm."

Shallot went to try to control the ki again but this time using less ki. It started turning into a ki thread and he slowly put ki into it making it extend.

Shallot: 'So it's easier to do it by starting with almost nothing and adding more.'

Shallot pointing his index finger from his other hand at the other end of the string trying to connect it to his finger.

Shallot: "Ki is the physical energy within the body that you use for everything. An example is that you want to lift something but it is heavy. You put all of your energy and lift it but after putting it back down you realize that you're tired. The reason your tired is that you just used ki to move something heavy. It's similar to aura but it's physical and doesn't come from your soul."

Velvet nodded her head and got an idea in her head from what Shallot said and activated her semblance and she could see yellow energy seeping off of Shallot's skin. She then felt like she could also feel that same energy inside of her own body and tried to do what he was doing.

Velvet concentrated a small amount of energy into her finger and managed to make it glow like his and then she made a thread 2 cm. After a couple of seconds, it disappeared and she felt really tired while sweating.

Shallot was surprised that his semblance could even copy the use of ki.

Shallot: "Your semblance is really a cheat. It took me years to have control like this and you did it just by using your semblance."

Velvet: "I didn't know *huff*... sorry *huff* I was just really interested but then I thought about how you said that I can pretty much learn anything just by using my semblance."

Shallot nodded but also was thinking something else.

Shallot: 'This is the perfect time to get closer to her.'

Shallot just shrugged his shoulder as he connected the string of ki to his other finger then started doing string tricks with it. He was making it longer while also keeping the ki dense enough so that it could be grabbed without blowing up or leaving a large amount of heat behind.

Shallot: "Since you now have ki you should train with me."

Velvet tilted her head not understanding why.

Shallot: "Ki is a very dangerous thing if you don't have a teacher. You could harm your teammates or even blow yourself up if you're not careful."

Velvet's eyes raised hearing that before looking at her hands thinking that she just learned something really dangerous.

Shallot: "I can even train you to be even stronger than you are. It won't show immediately for the tournament but you could definitely be one of the strongest in next year's tournament."

Velvet thought about it but she also wanted to ask Coco what she should do since she has always been helping her. Velvet turned to her left to see Coco concentrating on sketching in a sketchpad outfit designs along with battle outfits and additions on the side.

Velvet: "Coco."

Coco looked up seeing Velvet wondering what she wanted to ask her.

Coco: "Yes Velvet."

Velvet: "I may have copied something dangerous from Shallot and he wanted to train me in how to use it so I don't harm anyone or myself."

Coco looked towards Shallot wanting answers.

Shallot: "She copied something that I can do which can be very dangerous if used by someone that doesn't know what they are doing. What I use is destructive by nature and can cause a lot of damage if not used properly."

Coco: "Velvet's semblance can't copy anyone else's semblance so she shouldn't have learned something that dangerous from you."

Shallot shook his head.

Shallot: "She didn't copy my semblance but my technique. It's a high destructive technique by nature."

Shallot lifted his hand and formed a ki ball in his hand. He then stood up then walked towards the hatch by the back door opening it. Everyone could feel the air rushing into the back of the dropship when Shallot pointing his hand outside firing it.

It landing against a tree but they only saw him shoot something outside. They then heard the sound of a large explosion even though they were flying at a pretty quick speed. Shallot walked back to his seat sitting next to Velvet who gulped hearing the explosion and then remembering the size that didn't seem that big.

Velvet: "I could do that."

Shallot: "With the amount of energy you have you could blow up a mountain, to be honest. Now imagine if you used that on accident inside of a populated city."

Coco's eyes widened thinking that Velvet may have become that heavy hitter on the team by accident.
