Chapter 68 - Mountain Glenn (2)

The girls continued having a night discussion while Dr. Oobleck was thinking that Shallot was a good influence on them even though he was thinking from what he heard that he was slightly promiscuous making him think about Qrow in the past.

Oobleck: 'If his semblance wasn't bad luck may one of the 38 relationships he had would have worked out.'

Yang has taken up watch, allowing for Ruby and Zwei to sleep on the sleeping bag Yang had been lying on. Shallot was on top of the roof of the building and checking his portal BWG (Blutz Wav Generator). A small orb of energy similar to ki was inside it but was at a different wavelength.

Shallot: "With this, I should be able to recreate Vegeta's move the power ball so that I can access the great ape form at any time. Now to study it so I can create it without worrying about destroying the machine."

Another hour and a half passes and Zwei suddenly wakes and stands up, causing Ruby to wake up.

Ruby: "Huh? Zwei, it's late. Go back to bed."

Zwei runs off.

Ruby: "Zwei! Zwei! Ugh!"

Ruby wanders out of the building, looking for Zwei.

Ruby: "Zwei! Zwei, where are you?"

???: "Are you looking for a small Corgi?"

Ruby turns seeing an older man that looks similar to Lie Ren with a broom in his hand sweeping the streets.

Ruby: "Uh... Yes?"

???: "I'm Mr. Ohm. I was a hunter back in the day. Your Corgi is over there."

Mr. Ohm points behind a building area and Ruby turns and looks seeing Zwei peeing on a fire hydrant.

Ruby: "Uhm, Zwei?"

Ruby turns back to thank the elderly man but realizes that he is gone.

Ruby walks over to Zwei.

Ruby: "Zwei, this is a wasteland! You literally could have done that anywhere!"

Zwei: "Bark!"

From behind another building in the distance, a set of voices could be heard.

WF Guard 1: "What was that?"

Having heard the WF Guard, Ruby hides behind some ruins.

WF Guard 2: "What was what?"

WF Guard 1: "I thought I heard a Beowolf or something."

WF Guard 2: "Hmph. Let's just finish our patrol and get back to base. This place gives me the creeps."

As the WF Guards walk away, Ruby and Zwei sneak around in the background, following them. They eventually reach a ruined building with a pair of metal doors, and Ruby hides behind a corner, holding Zwei out to watch them.

Ruby: "Did they go in yet? One bark means yes."

The sound of the door closing echoes out.

Zwei: "Bark!"

Ruby: "Oh! This is it! This is it!"

She brings out a small scroll and tries to call her teammates. However, the screen says "Low Signal"

Ruby: "Aw man! Come on, we gotta get the others!"

Ruby and Zwei hurry off down the street. However, the asphalt beneath them suddenly sinks before caving in. Ruby grabs onto a ledge and catches Zwei. She tosses him up out of the hole and begins to attempt to pull herself up. However, the ledge she is holding onto starts cracking.

As she tries to carefully pull herself she can see Merlin come from the shadows and pushes her hand.

Merlin: "Nya nyaaa nya nyaa. (Long Live The King)

Ruby looks at Merlin thinking about why was this happening to her as she plummets into a huge cave filled with ruined buildings, far below the surface. She lands on a building up against a cavern wall, and as she gets up, a nearby door bursts open to reveal two other WF Guards, one of whom is Perry.

Zwei sees this and starts barking.

Zwei: "Bark Bark Bark bark bark Bark (What was that for you lazy cat.)"

Merlin: "Nyan nya nya nyya nyaaa nya nyya nya. (I couldn't get any sleep because of her and Shallot. Since she is being trained by Shallot something like that won't kill her. I've been through worse.)

Merlin then shivers thinking about what she had been through with Shallot and how she was the first thing he grabbed when he learned how to fly.

Zwei: "Bark bar bark bark Bark. (We need to at least tell the others that Ruby is down there.)"

Merlin: "Nyaaaa (Fiiiiine)."

Zwei and Merlin then run back to the group while below them another scenario is going on.

[In the hole with Ruby]

WF Guard: "Freeze!"

Perry: "Where did she come from?"

As the WF Guards walk forward, Ruby backs away only to end up on the very edge of the platform.

WF Guard: "You're a long way from home, little girl."

Ruby reaches back for her scythe, only to realize that she doesn't have it. Both guards approach her, and one tries to grab her arm when she spins on the balls of her right foot sending a reverse roundhouse kick into his head sending him flying into the wall.

Perry sees this and his eyes go wide.

Perry: "Tim!"

Perry runs at Ruby with a sword and she burst into petals getting behind him and reforming then doing a low leg sweep bringing him to the ground then. She then stands up and raises her right leg performing an ax kick onto his head knocking him out.

Ruby: "Shallot said that when you want them to follow your orders that you need to do administer amounts of controlled shock... where can I find something that I can use for small shocks."

Ruby grabs the one she sent into the wall.

Ruby: "I think he was called Tim."

Ruby starts slapping his face trying to wake him up. Tim starts waking up and before he can ask what is going on he is slapped again by Ruby.

Ruby: "I need answers and you're going to tell me."

Ruby tried sounding intimidating but she just sounded adorable.

Tim was looking and noticed that Perry was out cold on the ground and then started questioning in his head why did a girl so small have the strength of a Beringel. He realized that his best choice to get out of this is to just answer whatever she wants. He just doesn't want to be kicked again. He still can't hear anything from his right ear.
