Chapter 69 - Mountain Glenn (3)

[Back at the camp with the rest of Team RWBYS and Dr. Oobleck]

Yang: "Hey Weiss, it's yours... Ruby? Hey, where's Ruby?"

Oobleck: "What?"

Zwei comes running into the room, barking with Merlin running behind Zwei. Merlin was looking around for Shallot but didn't see him.

Yang: "Zwei and Merlin?"

Blake: "What's going on?"

Oobleck: "Grab your weapons! Your leader may be in trouble."

Weiss: "Where is Shallot."

Blake goes up to the roof and sees that Shallot isn't there. She then calls down into the building.

Blake: "Shallot isn't here either."

Yang: "Well he'll be fine but we need to know if Ruby is ok and if she is with him."

Zwei barks.

Yang: "One bark for yes two for no. IS Ruby with Shallot."

Zwei: "Bark Bark."

Yang: "So we need to go find her."

[Above the whole that Ruby went down]

Shallot was standing there looking down where Merlin pushed Ruby's hand from.

Shallot: "Merlin is going through gravity training when we get back and since spirit dome will keep healing her I don't have to worry about her getting tired anytime soon."

[Back with the group]

Merlin had a chill run down her spine while looking around herself.

[Back with Shallot]

Shallot: "Down I go."

Shallot jumped down into the hole in the ground and started looking for Ruby and only noticed that someone was laying on the ground. Shallot walked over to him before kicking him into the wall making the previously unconscious person gain consciousness while holding their ribs.

Perry: "Ow... why me."

Shallot: "Where did the adorable and cute girls with the red skirt go?"

Perry looks towards Shallot thinking that his day is getting worse and worse.

Perry: "I don't know she knocked Tim out then kicked me knocking me out also."

Shallot: "Take me to Roman before I break a leg."

Perry groaned while standing up thinking it was a mistake joining the White Fang.

[With Ruby]

She was walking with the go by her side and she had a vice grip on his arm. All around her, White Fang members are at work, doing various things such as piloting a Paladin to carry large shipping containers. There is a loud sound nearby as one of the White Fang members drops a large device.

WF Guard 3: "Hey, be careful! What are you trying to do, blow us to the moon?"

WF Guard 4: "Sorry sir!"

Tim: "Hey boss! Found something you might want to see!"

Tim wanted to get everyone's attention so that he could finally escape from the dangerous person disguised as a defenseless little girl.

Roman: "Is it good or bad, Tim? Because let me tell ya, I have had a day."

Tim: "Uh?"

Tim just turns his head to see Ruby looking at him with a smile on her face but to him, it was like the grim reaper staring at him and he began sweating.

Roman leans out through the doorway and sees Ruby.

Roman: "That would be bad."

[With the rest of Team RWBYS]

Zwei leads Oobleck and Ruby's teammates to the hole that Ruby fell into, and Yang spots Crescent Rose next to the hole.

Yang: "Ruby's scythe!"

Blake: "Good thing Shallot has been training her for hand to hand combat."

Weiss: "Do you think she fell?"

Dr. Oobleck looks up.

Oobleck: "Fell?"

Weiss points toward the hole in the ground.

Weiss: "Down there."

Dr. Oobleck looks down at the hole.

Oobleck: "Oh my. Of course! Of course, OF COURSE, OF COURSE!"

Blake: "What is it?"

Oobleck: "How could I be so stupid?"

Yang: "Dr. Oobleck, what's wrong?"

Oobleck: "Mountain Glenn! Yes, an expansion of Vale that was inevitably destroyed by creatures of Grimm! Previously home to thousands of people! Working people commuting to the city, the main city! Developed a subway system for the inner city! Grimm attacks increased! Population in danger, now desperately searching for shelter! City evacuates into the metro tunnels and what do they find? The southeast quadrant of Vale is known for its wild forests and deep caves!"

Yang: "Doc, what are you saying?"

Blake: "He is saying that the group we are looking for is underground since it would be less conspicuous."

Oobleck: "Yes you are correct. We're not just looking for an underground crime network, we're looking for an UNDERGROUND crime network!"

Weiss: "So they're working in caves then?"

Oobleck: "No, no, Mountain Glenn was Vale's first serious attempt at expansion. It worked for a short period of time, thanks to aggressive perimeter defense, and unique transportation; the city developed an elaborate subway system to carry citizens safely from the new territory into the main Kingdom!

Sadly, without the many natural barriers Vale had to protect its borders, Mountain Glenn was doomed from the start! As the end drew near, the citizens of the territory made one last attempt at survival: They took up shelter beneath the city! In massive caves that they had cleared out for the subway. And they had cut themselves off from the surface!"

Yang: "An underground village?"

Oobleck: "In a matter of speaking, yes. A safe haven. Until... an explosion opened the mouth of another cavern, filled with subterranean Grimm. After that, the Kingdom officially sealed off the tunnels, creating the world's largest tomb. If Ruby is down there.

Oobleck deploys Antiquity's Roast.

Oobleck: "We must find her..."

Merlin is just looking at the hole and jumps into the hole leaving everyone else around having a feeling that things are going to get a little unlucky soon and wanted to get towards Shallot. The others looked at the hole the Merlin jumped into and decided to follow her while bringing Ruby's scythe.
