In the morning, in a distant cave far away from the kingdom, Link was sitting on a rock, waiting patiently.

<Allow access? Yes/No>
"Yes!" Link spoke, his heart beating.
WOSH!
Light covered Link as he felt numb all of a sudden. His body was overwhelmed as he felt extremely uncomfortable. Pain devoured his existence, surprising him. His body found this type of pain and discomfort familiar.
'This feels the same as back when I evolved using The Story of Genes' Link thought. 'What is happening?!'
As Link was confused and worried, the pain and discomfort vanished as a warm and Godly feeling overwhelmed him.
"Do not fear, they won't let anything happen to the participants" The familiar deep voice from the darkness spoke in his ear. "You are entering the Heavenly Realm while still a Mortal, your physical body can't stand its pressure so a special seal is being placed on you" The voice went quiet for a second before speaking again. "I will not be able to enter with you, be careful there, Kid!"
A few seconds later, a jaw dropping field of grass appeared in front of Link. It looked like it could go on forever with no sign of anything other than the short and gorgeous grass.
"Wow!" Link muttered, looking around with caution.
<<To separate the trash from the talents, The Heavenly Council have decided on a Game of Survival… Each participant will face waves of creatures and beasts, with each wave the Beasts will be stronger and in greater numbers.
Good Luck, Players!>>
Words took form in the clouds, startling Link. He could not recognize the language, but he understood every word of it somehow which shocked him.
[Don't be startled, that's the Universal Language of the Heavens.. In the Heavenly Layers, they only speak one language unlike in the Mortal Realms. It is understood by all, no matter if that person speaks it or not]
"That's incredibly useful!" Link was impressed. This Language will solve a lot of issues if mastered.
[It is, but unfortunately no Mortal is capable of speaking it]
"Too bad" the moment Link finished muttering under his breath, he heard a noise coming from the distance. Sounds of footsteps and roars could be heard coming from the east. "What the hell is that?"
Up near the clouds, on the lands and even underneath it, Link could sense Magical Creatures heading straight towards him.
"Here we go!"

"How many participants do we have?" Asked a beautiful woman wearing a long white robe. Her hair was red like fire, the same color as her eyes. Her long and gentle figure was well hidden by her robe. She stared at a dwarf and smiled charmingly.
"We have over 100 000 participants from all races and species. We have no lack of vampires and intelligent ghouls even" The dwarf named Sigal Handed a report to the woman not daring to look her in the eyes.
"100 000 participants huh… Those greedy bastards did not hesitate to find and send something, even if they had to create it themselves" She sighed. "I guess, what would you expect from cockroaches belonging to the Lower Heavens!" She chuckled.
"Rising to the next Layer is their dream, Your Holiness. Please don't let them bother you and enjoy the Games" Sigal said.
"You're right, Sigal, I should enjoy the Games… and maybe I'll find another worthy toy for me to keep!" She said with a sinister and mischievous smile.
Seeing the all too familiar grin, Sigal had goosebumps running down his spine.

Globes and screens filled a room where people of all sizes and races sat watching. A giant and long table went all the way through the room filled with all kinds of beverages and foods. Maids were going back and forth refilling the plates. The room was noisy and with the occasional cheering. People watched each screen with interest and amusement.
"I love these Games!" A man spoke to the person next to him.
"Me too, plus it's a good way to earn Merits if you bet on the right one"
"Indeed, I've made over 100 Merits in the last Games, and I'm going to make more today!"
On each screen, there was the same background of an unending grass field with rampaging Creatures. But the only thing that made each screen different was the Players. Each one showing a certain leading Player with their Kill Count and Wave number.
On one of the screens, a purple haired girl was moving in the midst of a wave of Creatures, gracefully and elegantly dodging and dancing, while throwing a hit whenever she could before moving on to the next Creature. The one she attacks would slowly start dissolving, losing all their strength as they fall down and die quietly. Her body was free of even the tiniest bit of damage.
On another screen, a black haired red eyed man was running towards each Creature his eyes landed upon, and surprisingly, the Creatures would run away as if they were facing their biggest Predator.
On another screen that caught most of the crowd's attention was where a black haired and Purple eyed young man was easily teleporting between Creatures and killing them one by one. He seemed bored but focused, although that focus would sometimes waver every hour or so as if something else caught his attention. Bodies covered the previously clean and beautiful field with blood everywhere.. It looked like a massacre.
"Does this Kid have infinite Mana? He keeps using high Level Spells but he doesn't seem to be bothered in the least" A man commented.
"Mortals these days are something else.. We have a lot of scary Players this time" Another man said laughing.
"It should be a lot of fun in the finals!" A woman took a sip from her glass and spoke.

<Mana Core Consumed>
<1 009 700 Permanent Mana Points Have Been Acquired>
<2 566 900 Permanent Mana Points Have Been Acquired>
<1 096 200 Permanent Mana Points Have Been Acquired>
…
It has been 5 hours since the Waves of powerful Creatures started appearing. Link did not hold back even a little as he showed no mercy. His Dagger shone as he wrapped it using his Heavy Strike Skill. This allowed his attack to have a one hit kill effect with each attack holding around 500 000 Mana Points if not more, depending on the Creature.
Although this strategy should have drained Link a while ago, but with the system, he managed to consume the Cores as he fought, easily earning insane amounts of Mana.
"I have leveled up five times since I started this!" Link muttered with a grin. "I never imagined that this would be so incredible.. I had a hard time finding powerful Creatures and Dungeons but now they're coming at me by themselves" Link laughed loudly, confusing the audience.
Body after body piled in the field as he kept moving further away to not be hindered by them.
Unfortunately, words appeared in the sky as the Creatures vanished with the corpses and blood.
<<The required number of Players have been disqualified..
Congratulations Player Link! You have succeeded in qualifying for the finals>>
Link did not pay much attention to the message as he stared at the spot where numerous Creatures were present with a sad look.
"NOO!!" He sighed with a heavy heart. He might never get such a chance ever again.. 'What a waste' He thought.
