The Bandit Hunt (2)

Taking all 4 groups on at the same time would not have been the smartest thing to do. Link jumped down from the tree and muttered something as he started running ahead. That's when it happened. Shadows emerged from his body, forming 3 figures. "I love this skill" Link said as each figure separated.

What Link used was 'Shadow Clone'. He needed to take care of each group one by one, and to do something like that without others getting in his way, is to make them think that they were the ones that were picked first. "Zasho, go with that handsome clone. He'll be facing the most troublesome group" Link said, heading off.

Link needed to take care of the weakest first and slowly go up to the strongest bunch. Not knowing which is actually weak and which is strong. Link relied on his sight.

The first group was one led by an odd looking man. His beard was too big, while he led a group of 6 guards. Each guard looked like they were well trained as they listened to the man's every command. That was Mike's group.

The second group was led by Arlo, with 5 guards. Link knew him from their previous fight, which did not go too well for him back then. Link nearly managed to kill him if not for Lilia's quick reflexes. Link had his eyes on this group as he knew Arlo's strength and was not threatened by him.

The third group with another 5 guards was led by Paul. Link did not recognize him, but seeing some blood covering the man, Link knew that he was bad news. His expression was not of one going into battle, but one of joy. He looked like he was having too much fun. Link couldn't help but think he was dangerous.

The forth group, which had 5 guards with Feo leading them, was what Link considered the least dangerous. Link knew that Feo was an archer, and a good one at that. He couldn't help but think she wouldn't be much of a threat in a close battle. Even if the guards around her protected her as she shot her arrows, Link knew he could easily take care of her and the guards.

"I pick you.." Link pointed towards a group "Number 2" Link chose Arlo for many reasons, and one of them being that the man is a warrior. Link wouldn't need to run around trying to catch him. He knew that he'd come to him by himself. "I've grown a lot since our last fight, he'll probably assume that i'm still as good or a little better than last time which will make it easier for me to take care of them quickly" This was Link's thought process, which was going in the right direction.

It did not take long before Link met up with the group. He stood in front of them waving towards Arlo. "Hey bro, miss me?" He said sarcastically.

"Stop with your condescending jokes. Our fight will not end like last time" Arlo growled. He reached to his back and took hold of a sword. When looking at it, Link couldn't help but frown. The sword looked odd, with writings and massive amounts of Mana particles running through it. "Since receiving this weapon as a gift, I've only used it when I fought in the great war. You should feel honored, brat" Arlo took a fighting stance, and right behind him so did the soldiers. "Did I make the right choice picking him?" Link thought to himself.

Arlo took a step forward, slashing the air. Link was confused. He didn't see any Mana or fancy moves. Arlo just swung his sword like normal.

Ding!

Suddenly, Link heard an odd ringing noise in his head, he felt that something was wrong and he should move. So he did, dashing to the side.

Boom!

In the area Link was standing at. A large deep line was cut into the floor. Making Link frown again.

"You dodged it?" Arlo spoke "Well, you won't be so lucky next time" As he finished his sentence. Arlo started to swing his sword. Front slash, up slash, horizontal slash…

Link didn't understand how he did that, but he did know it was related to the sword.

Wosh! Wosh! Wosh!

The same thing happened again. The trees and ground kept getting cut seemingly by nothing. As Link kept dodging. "I'll go to you then" He muttered, taking steps forwards after each dodge.

As Link got closer, and before he could make a move. The guards behind Arlo did. Blocking his way as Arlo kept swinging his sword.

Link had no choice but to step back, looking at the sword with interest. "What is that?" He muttered.

<An Imprinted weapon>

"What?" Link asked, jumping to the side as the tree behind him was cut in half. "Let's see how long you take before you tire yourself out" Arlo yelled.

<How do you think those rings you bought have spells in them? And did you forget about the magic scrolls and so on? A spell can be imprinted onto an item. Well, there are certain conditions that should be met but nevertheless, that sword is an enchanted weapon with a spell imprinted on it>

"What spell is invisible when cast? I can't see a thing. If not for Killer Bee's Instinct i would have been done for before even the fight started" Link continued "I can't even feel the Mana or see the sword doing anything special to cast this thing" Link complained.

<There's probably some special method that allowed him to do that. Whatever, how long are you going to play around for? You said you'll take care of him quickly and move on to the next group..>

"Yeah, I should get this over with" Link said, and Arlo managed to hear him. He laughed and said "Too much confidence could be the end of you, kid"

"I already learned that lesson" Link yelled back.

Wosh!

Arlo frowned, when seeing Link vanishing from his spot, but it was too late for him to start looking around, as Link appeared again behind him, swinging his dagger aiming towards Arlo's neck.

Ding!

The sound of metal hitting metal echoed, as Arlo was thrown with great force, hitting a tree. "Damn! Those are some good reflexes bro" Link gave Arlo a thumbs up.

When Link's dagger was about to reach, Arlo moved his sword behind him as fast as he could. Barely blocking Link's attack. Although he did block it, but without proper footing and hold of his weapon, Arlo was flung away.

Link saw his sword drop not too far away, so he Blinked and grabbed it. "Sweet!" Link whistled. He didn't understand the weapon quite well though so he threw it inside his Inventory. "Give it back" Arlo yelled.

He got back up, barely able to stand. The soldiers woke up from their shock after hearing Arlo's yelling, and rushed towards Link with their swords in their hands. "I'm not the bad guy here" Link said "You guys started this, and i'm a hundred percent sure you wouldn't have hesitated to kill me if i was the one on the floor"

Blergh!!

It seemed like Link said those words to himself rather than to his enemies. Activating 'Bee's swiftness' and 'Air Boost' Link was like a blur. Passing next to each and every soldier, beheading them in the process.

Arlo barely managed to get back up on his feet, but after seeing the scene in front of him, he fell back down again. "We should have killed you when we first captured you" He muttered, before his head was sent flying in the air. Blood covered the sky for a second, making the scene oddly beautiful. "It's survival of the fittest, don't blame me" Link muttered, before vanishing from his spot.

"The attack was successful, but some of those damn villagers managed to get away" A black figure spoke. On top of his head there was what looked like horns and a tail at the bottom. "With my new form, those Royal Guards couldn't defend everybody. We got enough sacrifices, now we'll proceed with the summoning.." The man laughed "May the evil god bless us"

Behind the man, a village was in full view. Fires ravished the houses and shops, while bodies and blood covered the ground. Black figures were still running around, fighting against humans wearing white armor. They were overwhelmed, as the numbers of the demons were too many.

"Sir, we should retreat!" A man yelled, blocking an attack from one of the figures.

"We can't, not all villagers retreated" A man yelled back "We must hang on for a bit longer" The man speaking right now looked familiar. His face was covered by green blood. It was Hue. The man that gifted Link his first Beast Soul armor.
