229. Siege Of Jianye

They were in chaos for a while, and when Jianye's Governor knew about this and lamented how Lie Fan could have such powerful weapons, at first he was intimidated even terrified by the sounds but after seeing a bunch of smokes coming out from the Fuchuan Warships he knew that it was some kind of weaponry that Lie Fan has in his sleeve.

Jianye Town Guards and Town Army together amounted to around 25,000 men, with the Town Guard around 5,000 men and the rest were the Town Army around 20,000 men.

If Jianye's Governor can put up smart defenses and use an efficient strategy, he can defend Jianye from Lie Fan's siege for around 3 months while waiting for reinforcement to come which was more than enough time for Liu Yao to send reinforcement.

Unfortunately for him, he doesn't know the true situation that is happening in Liu Yao's capital right now, Yu Fan and He Qi raised an emergency army to hold off Sun Jian, while Yu Mi and Hua Xin are heading back to Liu Yao's capital to imprison Yu Fan and He Qi.

While the naval battle is going on across the Yangtze River between Xu Province and Yang Province, and Jian Ye is under Naval Bombardmen of Hwacha, Lie Fan and his army have arrived at the empty land near Jianye, organizing the formation of his army there.

After Lie Fan's army arrived, soon followed by the Baihu Army under Dian Wei, then the Qinglong Army under Huang Zhong, The Xuanwu Army under Zhang Chao, and lastly the Lujiang Army under Lu Jun.

The massive amount of Lie Fan's soldiers have finally landed at Yang Province, the success of the landing gives a high morale boost to Lie Fan's soldiers, since on the way from Guangling to here none of Liu Yao's ships was in sight, proving that Jiang Qin's tactic is working.

Lie Fan then holds a quick meeting with all of his generals and advisors, where he splits his army into two groups, Group A will head toward Jianye and lay siege on Jianye, then subjugate Jianye County.

Group B will head toward Wanling County and begin to lay siege on Wanling, continuing by subjugating Wanling County, then they will meet up at Wanling and discuss their next set of operations on Yang Province.

After Lie Fan finishes saying his words, Jia Xu and Xun You then explain the strategy that would be used by each group, and which army would enter Group A and Group B.

For Group A, they will lay siege on Jianye from all sides, to pressure Jianye and let them surrender as soon as possible while being helped by the Fuchuan Warships bombardment using Hwacha.

As for Group B, they will lay siege to Wanling with two armies while the other one will subjugate the surrounding area, to reduce the time that was spent on the subjugation of Wanling County.

After that Xun You tells which army should enter Group A or Group B, for Group A there is Lie Fan's Army and the Lujiang Army while Group B will be The Baihu Army, The Qinglong Army, and The Xuanwu Army.

Hearing the group that they would join, the general-in-chief of each army began to stand with their group, of course for Group A Lu Jun was the one who approached Lie Fan, not the other way around.

Since everything was ready, Lie Fan then ordered the advance of each Army Group, Group B with Huang Zhong as the highest-ranking general leading Group B toward Wanling, while Lie Fan led Group A toward Jianye which was under heavy bombardment.

Jianye's Governor doesn't know of the threat that is coming to Jianye, they are still focusing on how to handle Lie Fan's fleet that was bombarding them with hundreds even thousands of arrows using Hwacha.

The Town Guards were focusing on saving the common people who were implicated in the bombardment, like when the arrows hit their house or because the fire on the arrow was still burning, causing the roof of some houses that were near the docks to catch on fire.

While The Town's army was waiting for Lie Fan's fleet to send their soldiers, outside of Jianye the Guards that were on patrol above the wall saw a large army heading towards them, with Lie Fan's banner being raised showing the identity of the army.

Seeing this the Guard panicked and sent his companion to alert the Governor, while he and the other closed Jianye's gate. When the gate was seen being closed, the commoner who was outside panicked and protested as to why the gate was closed.

Jianye Governor who was leading the defense near Jianye's dock heard about what happened outside of Jianye from the Guard who was sent to inform him, he panicked when he heard the information.

He leads the Town Army toward Jianye's Western Wall, where he sees around 80,000 to 90,000 men now surrounding Jianye from the Western and Southern gates with their formation in half a circle.

Lie Fan was leading the attack personally in the frontline, flanked by his bodyguards alongside his generals like Ji Ling and Chao Bai, they were positioned at the Western Gate while Lu Jun and the Lujiang Army were stationed at the Southern Gate.

Lie Fan: "Where is the Governor of Jianye?! I'm Lie Fan I demand for you to surrender and declare your allegiance then all of your soldiers including you can be spared!"

Jianye Governor: "So it's Lord Lie Fan! Please halt your attack on Jianye and maybe My Lord will spare you and your army in return! Our reinforcement is on the way and you will be attacked from two sides if you don't retreat right now!"

Lie Fan: "Hahaha! Looks like the Governor doesn't know what happened in Yang Province right now, the reinforcement tour talking and hoping will never come, Sun Jian is attacking Geyang and Poyang right now, you should understand what this means."

Jianye Governor: "What?! Impossible! You're lying Lie Fan! I never thought that the reputable Lie Fan would lie to gain an upper hand in this battle!"

Ji Ling: "Prosposterous! My Lord is not a liar and will not lie about that kind of thing, it's just you don't want to believe that it was the truth! My Lord, please say the word and I will take his head off for you myself!"

Jianye's Governor let out a cold sweat after hearing what Ji Ling said, while Lie Fam's soldiers let out a loud roar supporting what Lie Fan said, they wanted to take revenge for what Jianye's Governor said about Lie Fan.

Lie Fan doesn't say many words anymore, since Jianye's Governor doesn't want to submit there's only one way they can do and that is to take Jianye by force, he raises his halberd and points it toward Jianye signaling for his army to attack.

War drums were sounded and Lie Fan's army soon stormed the Western gate, followed by the Lujiang Army who also stormed the Southern gate of Jianye.

Jianye's Governor and The Town Army panicked and felt that their end was near, even though hope was lost jianye's Governor still split the 20,000 army into the Southern Gate and Western Gate, telling the soldiers to keep their spirits up while help was on the way.

For now, the Town Army keeps their morale and spirit high, thinking that help is truly on the way and what Lie Fan just said is just a lie to lower their morale and spirit, not knowing that it was the truth and help will never come for them, even if it come it will never arrive in time.

Lie Fan and his bodyguards ride their horses toward the Western Gate wall, where the siege ladders are being prepared and will be raised toward the wall.

Ji Ling and Chao Bai led the infantries under Lie Fan to attack the Western Wall, and Chao Bo led the Archer units while Xu Rong and Ze Rong led the Tian Mao Battalion circling Jianye while waiting for the gate of Jianye to be opened.

The Trebuchets and Hwacha have been prepared and fired under Ren Jun's order, damaging Jianye's wall and the soldiers there were wounded heavily, while some were traumatized by the Hwacha sound like it was a monster coming to eat them.

On the other side of Jianye, at the port of Jianye, it still receives bombardment from Lie Fan's fleet where after some time it finally stops, because the ships there have depleted all the ammo they have brought.

Fortunately, the Fuchuan Warships that bombarded Jianye's Port were only 6 ships, so even though they needed to retreat to Guangling to refill their ammunition, it did not have a large impact on the battle.

Lie Fan does all that easily, destroying the things that are coming toward him with his strength.

The siege ladders were finally being put in, some of Lie Fan's soldiers climbed up the ladders first, to allow Lie Fan and his bodyguard to receive time to climb up the ladder.

When Lie Fan and his bodyguard arrived at the top of the wall, some of the soldiers who climbed up first were killed while the rest were fighting for their lives, trying to set up a perimeter around the ladder.

Lie Fan's arrival boosted their morale while the Jianye's soldiers were cheering in fear, they had heard of Lie Fan's name, and the achievements he had made, one of which was defeating Lu Bu alongside Huang Zhong and Dian Wei.

Lu Bu's infamy was high after killing Ding Yuan and joining Dong Zhou, becoming Dong Zhuo:a number one general by defeating all of Dong Zhu's generals at the time in a duel, a feat that not many people at that time could do, especially not my talent show up at that time.

They all took a step back when they saw Lie Fan, flanked by the Yellow Ghost Lie Fan's elite team of bodyguards, who always followed him everywhere he went and protected him with their lives.

Lie Fan raised his hammer and charged at the sea of soldiers, flanked by his bodyguards. Soon screaming of pain and fear could be heard as Lie Fan sliced his way through easily, many at first tried to stop him but they found that all who tried were sliced easily by Lie Fan.

His show of strength intimidated them even more, and one of the soldiers threw down his sword and ran away when one did that the others soon followed, while many chose to run away some chose to fight even though they knew they would be killed, while all of this is happening something happened at Liu Yao's Capital.
