Out of countless Souls, ten were chosen to be reborn as Monsters into the Higher World. A World much different than ours, filled with Demons, Devils, and Mythical Creatures. Ten Chosen Souls, Ten Chosen Candidates. For what they are Candidates, remains a mystery. "Weaklings shouldn't worry about such things." After sleeping for over 15 hours, the old man woke up. It was dawn.
He tried and tried, but found himself unable to go back to sleep.
The old man had slept for longer than he had in a long time. Still, he did not feel any better or any more energized than he had the previous day.
He stared at the ceiling absent-mindedly. Or rather, he tried his best to keep his mind from thinking.

'That loss was different... Different than against that Commander.'
The Commander in question was Ani, the red-haired Orcish Fiend. She hadn't shared her name with the old man. Instead, insisting that he remembers another's name. Lin.
